Well Alex.. a little sour grapes there . Time for a few home truths. With the level of unemployment here in Serbia perhaps you might stand a better chance of getting a job in France. It would also be an opportunity to learn another culture which is always a good thing. Also, despite what many serbians believe , you might find the food in France 100% better. I think instead of knocking the country it might be a better idea to say thank you to France being the first to issue free visas. Lets get young Serbians out into the greater world.Bring back some new ideas and a bit of positive thinking to your country. As a visitor here I find that your attitudes are depressing. I have spoken to so many Serbians who just cant be bothered to vote in the elections as they say "nothing will change" Look at Zimbabwe where people were beaten, tortured and starved and still managed to get out and have their voices heard. It doesnt matter who you vote for ...just do it. As outsiders we are just too polite to tell you that you need a good shake up and a bit of forward thinking. Stop looking back and get on and get better. You have so much to offer to the world. A great educated population and so many things that you could introduce the rest of the world to.

Why would Serbs want to go to France apart from to visit relatives or study (if their parents are rich enough)?

There are no jobs.

Housing is prohibitively expensive and very difficult to come by (hence the regular demonstrations by french students).

Half a million french moved to England in the mid-1990s because of all of the above and have no intention of moving back soon.

So, how, I ask again, can Serbs benefit from going to France????

Oh yes, cheese and wine. Sorry.
