Let all come clear, including those that have signed the damn document by deceit...

Two things should be mentioned here :

1. Both Nikolic and Kostunica also do not mind the SAA if it were signed few months ago. And that's what exactly Lavrov said the other week. In no case B-92 should not interpret Kosachev as if we are ready to Serbian membership separate from it's Kosovo province.

2. Russian government is the only responsible for the foreign policy but not the parliament whom Kosachev represents in Serbia. Russia really don't mind Serbia to be a EU member. The question is under what conditions and at what price.

Signing the SAA is fine so long as it doesn't go against Serbia's interests, which it currently does.

It would have been more appropriate to reprint this http://www.b92.net/eng/news/politics-article.php?yyyy=2008&mm=05&dd=07&nav_id=50044 article today instead of this misleading one.

This is more in line with Russian's position.

I have spoken this morning with some Russian friends about other topics than works and hobbies and the argument was Balkans...here is the summary:
They feel their brotherhood with the Serbs IS STRONG but for them is difficoult to IMAGINE how can be regaigned kosovo..
Business is Business so it's better a Serbia full integreted in EU but with a strong friendship with Russia to a new Cuba...
They are ready to help Serbia but they have to trust their patners...
My reply were:
I have said that Kosovo is gone at least 30 years ago
I don't believe in EU-Serbia integration at least in the next 20 years
I wouldn't trust any Serbian politician right now

I agree with you and it's what exactly 90% of the Russians think. This is why I never voted for Putin. He have done a lot of good things but there are important items that he never even explained his logic to the nation. Lets hope he knows what to do. Maybe they will find a few words before the Serbian elections.

I am afraid Tadic appointed the elections meaning that the Russians will be occupied with their internal exchange of the state power. Yet everything will now depend not on Russia but on how the Serbs will vote.

Russia supporting SAA between Serbia and EU? Doesnt this sound like a russian slap to Serbia?
While Kostunica and Nikolic say that signing of SAA from Serbia is giving away Kosova, Russia supports it, therefore Russia supports the Tadic and his decision instead of supporting Kostunica and Nikolic.

Russia just stated they are neutral on the SAA and Serbia's EU path in general as long as it is in the interest of the country. Which is exactly what Kostunica has been saying for the longest time, For EU but not at all costs!

Russia did not betray Kostunica in the least bit they simply stated exactly what DSS is all about.

I find it even more comical Albanians have the nerve to come here and give us some "advice" don't make us laugh. Does Kosovo still have have a site you can linger on? By the way the mere fact that Albanians hate Kostunica and to an extent support Tadic is a clear enough indication who should win on May 11th.

Hopefully the people here will shut up when the trash gets taken out on May 11th.

Russia! Please, make up your mind. Don't treat Serbs as though they are dumb! Make a decision and stick to it! It seems that Russia is doing as it has always done, acted in a two faced manner, hoping nobody would notice. You lost Poland and Bulgaria to the EU, and now you are relying on the Kosovo question to keep another potential European Cuba subservient to you. Stop playing with Serbia, giving them false hope that you will look after their interests.

DSS & SRS will have to accept whatever their masters in Kremlin decide...

The signinig of the SAA by Tadic & Delic and todays comment by Russian high official are first clear signal that they ought to recognise the reality (Kosovo independence) in the ground...

The sooner they do the better is for Serbia itself and the region as e whole...

First of all Russia does not care for Kosova or Serbia, but they hate the fact that for so many years , actually decades they tried to get their foot in Balkans, but never made it. US of A got the chance on 1999 and achieved what both Russia and US were aiming fore since after WW2.Do you think for minute that US will let go after all these efforts and have the second largest military base in Europe? On the other hand perhaps signing the SAA is not recognition of Kosovo, in which case DSS / SRS and their supporters have been lying (knowingly or not) all this time.

it is very hard to imagine, that Mr. Kostunica will survive politically. conservative voters will send him to desert by voting SRS to avoid a DS-coalition with DSS participation - and for those citizens, which are in favor of the European path, he is not acceptable anymore.
