Israel's statehood day marked in Belgrade

Thank you Serbia for having more angels than demons when it came to relations between Serbs and Jews throughout our respective histories.All of your immediate neighbors could use your example on how to treat people of the Judaic faith but unfortunaltely their demons seemed to always outnumber their angels.Zivila Serbia and long live Israel where every Serb should always be welcomed with open brotherly arms.Kosovo is your Jerusalem and the fight will be long and hard but in the end the righteous will prevail.Shalom

No people on earth deserve a homeland more than the Israelis. I respect their loyalty to the their culture, ability to survive in the face of overwhelming odds, and their inclination to work hard and contribute to humanity. The world is a much better place because of Jews.

Fellow Serb Christians, lets forever remember God's solemn proclamation to remain loyal to our Jewish brothers:

"Gen 12:3 And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed."

It is good and natural for Jews and Christians to be amiable to each other. Serbs have a proud history in this regard, which the Israelis respect and acknowledge.

I'm Jewish and I don't support Israel because of its policies about the Palestinians.

But the two people, Jews and Serbs, have a common experience being persecuted by Nazis and fighting against fascism, and I and I hope many other Jews will always be grateful for helping us in WWII.

Any person claiming to be a Jew but saying that he does not support Israel should call himself/herself something else.If there is a Serb who does not support Kosovo then I have the same advice for him/her.If we have non-believers in our midst then we must be vigilant against their treachery.Shalom

It is obvious that somebody is trying lobbying aganinst Kosovo´s recognition. If it were so that Serbia is Israels ally, why do they supply arab-world not recognizing Israel with arms. How does it come that Serbia was one of the greatest allies of Sadam Hussein and has great conections with Iran? Moreower why do a wast majority of Serbs believe that Jews determine the policy of the the US and have "destroyed" their contry? Why does Seselj and his frinds, who probably will win election, publicly spread antisemitic propaganda? If these people are Israels allies they wont need further enemies!
Action is beeing needed, not a banque. By the way, what if Israel recognizes Kosovo, will you still "support" Israel ...??

I as a kosovar albanian congratulates the jews for the day of statehood and i thank the jews for giving to kosovar albanians the greatest help to become free from Serbia.
It was the jews( especially the jews of America) who were the greateat helpers for Kosova's independence.

i am grateful, very grateful, to righteous gentiles of all ethnicities that helped my people. this includes albanians, croatians, bosnians, serbs, and many other groups (such as roma) as our research has found.

as for all the rest of the nonsense i am reading here, it is a RE-working of history, and we (jews) don't appreciate it.

Not that Israel or the powerful jewish lobbies have done anything for Serbia in the past two decades considering we were the only country not to participate in the wholesale slaughter of the jews during WW2, in fact Albright, Holbrook, Rumsfeld, the list goes on, not exactly friends of the Serbian nation. So say what you like but the foreign policy of Israel and the foreign policy of the US is one and the same and driven by money, and this my friends does not include Serbia as a free and whole country. If it wasn’t for Russia, there would be Croatia to the boarders of Albania in the south, Bosnia to Macedonia in the centre and Hungry in the north and a small Serbian town somewhere in the middle called Belgrade. So before we go congratulating Israel on creating a ghetto for the Palestinians to live in, how about they congratulate us on resisting the unlawful act of creating a new Albanian state on out territory.
Israel out friends? Are the US our friends………!

Well said, Luciano - but I have some uneasy feelings about SRS relations to Jews. Some comments of SRS-supporters on B92 about G. Soros does not look very promising. (Changed my nick a bit, BTW to reflect what is ATA within Ataman is about).
