17 EU states to issue free visas

Has it ever occured to anybody that the reason that 19 European countries out of 40 which have recognized the Albanian UDI did so mainly in order to have where to deport the tens of thousands of politically asylum seeking Albanians who claim to be from Kosovo or the tens of thousands of Albanians in western European prisons?Are these 17 countries extending visa free travel to Kosovo also and Albania also?Ask Interpol who the criminals in western Europe are before you talk nonsense about Serbs being hated.All groups have their angels and demons but it is ridiculous to claim that anybody besides Albanians hates Serbs as a people.

Well, this is a good start. Although, Romania already provides free visas for Serbian citizens since summer 2007.
More freedom of movement for everybody around the world = more opportunities for individuals, businessmen = more chances for economic growth.

Idiots, this carrot is not so sweet. Better than nothing, but too small, too chewy and thus won't make into our gulyás.

If there won't be a sweeter one (= no visas) within this Summer, tell these ballon-heads, Nikolic should become the PM and he will send Russian tanks, MIG-s and bears on their way. Tell them, soon big wild brown Siberian bears will run amok in, say... hmmmm... Strasbourg, that is, yes, precisely Strasbourg.

How about that? Either no visas before Summer tourist season kicks in - or Nikolic the Terrible will become the PM and Siberian bears will eat few innocent E.U. citizens on streets of Strasbourg.

Comment: this is just a loud thinking and a mere illustration how proper carrot-demanding should look like. ;-)

And the condition are:

1)Regonize Republic of Kosovo?

2) Hand over Mladic?

3) Appologize to all former republics of Yougoslavia for the wars of the 90:s?

I agree that people in Serbia should use the offer for their own gain, but I think the term 'ungrateful wretches' is way out of order.

Serbia has been demonised, sanctioned, bombed and treated appallingly by the international community in a show of power and an attempt to control. It's all international politics.

Perhaps if you and your family had been through all the events of the past 15 years you wouldn't be quite so insulting. I'm not saying that people on all sides and of all ethnicities haven't suffered throughout the region, but Serbia has been painted as the only bad guy throughout and made to suffer very unfairly as a nation.

From what I can see, there are no conditions mentioned here. So regardless of who wins this offer should still stand.

But the question remains, why offer it now just after the Kosovo Albanians have excluded themselves from such a deal? Will they all get out their Serbian passports now and claim to be Serbian citizens? This offer is one of their biggest dreams.

Why one need to spit in E.U. direction, rolerkoster? Currently 27 members of E.U. have 54 opinions and not sure what opinion they may say because of the wind you mentioned blowing from White House. There is no unified stance. There is a cacophony of voices. E.U. is not "one". As for White House: the only chance our "favorite" neo-conservatives will be still in power if McCain with a "neo-con" running mate would be elected and die afterwards, so his neo-con running mate would practically hijack the Oval Office. Since McCain is not very young and AFAIK fights a cancer (maybe I am wrong?) this is certainly a possibility. In any other case neo-cons are out and the direction of wind across Atlantic will certainly change... even if McCain will become a president.

Personally, I hope it will be Obama, but even other two are more decent than the current neo-con who is easily the worst president of USA in the history. May he be in jail one day.

About Russian tanks, I am affraid that they won't reach much farther than their (Russian) border,they won't be able to reach at least Poland.

This is certain good news, though I fear that given the likely outcome of an SRS-DSS victory next week, many Serbs may take advantage of the visa free policies to buy themselves a one-way ticket out.

hey kate , i am well aware of all the things you said , i was in serbia during the late 90s when nato attacked , never the less , i want my friends from serbia to be able to come visit me in london without the major hassle and humiliation they have to endure now . so some serbs are ungrateful ? yes , like the ones on this forum still complaining about free visas now ...raving on about carrots ?? my friends will be the first ones on JAT to heathrow !

Let them judje who is a friend and who's not. In fact many of those to vote for Tadic also are smart enough to see the hypocrycy of those who bombed them. I remember on an other (unrelated) forum most of my posts about Дед Мороз were deleted by overzealous moderator who probably was thinking, it's a dangerous Russian propaganda. I made the posts in last days of December, by the way. Not all posts were removed. Few did quietly stay in BiH and SRB corner of that forum. Probably, because they weren't in English, that's why.

@Eagle: you probably did not understand my humor. But actually, there is absolutely no need for tanks, MIG-s or even brown bears. From my experience (see above) Дед Мороз is scary enough. Bad news: this year he (as Dedek Mraz) will be on Schengen territory (Slovenia) and nothing will stop him to go all the way to Strasbourg if Снегурочка is fancy visiting France.

The bad is, that all this is bogus, that's the problem. These idiots speak about FREE VISAS, while I demand NO VISA REGIME UNCONDITIONALLY FOR ALL WESTERN BALKANS ASAP.

I also demand NO INVITATION REGIME BETWEEN ALL-SERBIA (incl. Kosovo) AND RUSSIA.

Because the procedure is essentially the same in both cases. It saves merely 35 Euro to E.U. and ca. 10-20 Euro to/from Russia. No change in the essence.

And the condition are:

1)Regonize Republic of Kosovo?

Well, this is a good start. Although, Romania already provides free visas for Serbian citizens since summer 2007.
