I am baffled also. I've read some of Condi Rice'literature on Soviet Strategy, Czech-Slovak army as an undergrad and am baffled at how dumb she has come across. More importantly, I want my money back for my tuition fees as it was recommended reading some 12 years ago.

"Kosovo independence is a reality that many have recognized". Nothing about this satement is true.
The word many should be replace with few and the sentence should then read as.

Kosovo independence is a reality that most have NOT recognized.

So Condi, when you get off whatever is making you high now you will se the reality.
When you are not in office any more (which will be soon now), and the drug "power" wears off you will see just how ridiculous you sound.

I am amazed how American reality is so different to the rest of the world. They can't even see why most of the world hates them.

this is mainly a proof of a now fact: the reversal of acknowledgement of indiependence IS on the agenda of the (mini-)coalition of the willing!

thanks condy, i´m more then sure now and next pm kostunica will miss you heavily (putin too).

especially when it seems that after 8 years bush-regime clever and educated guys will take over in washington.

the u.s. took back the recognition of taiwan, so did they with the recognition of so called bosnia (after just 3 years of phantasizing they moved to dayton).

don´t make us lough with ridicolous oath´s, they sound even funnier then the oath´s of winning irak and afghanistan.

Kosovo AND Serbia? Kosovo IS Serbia.

If Pristina wants to have good relations with Belgrade, they should have good relations with the Serbs inside Kosovo first.

Look, you piece of bantha poodoo. Hope, both Galactic Empire and Rebel Alliance will listen to my ideas because I am more relevant on Tatoine than you on Balkans.

Condi, dear Condi, please keep your nose out of Serbian politics...!
Who has given you the rights to tell Serbs how to deal with their own countrymen in Kosovo?

Next maybe you'll want lessons from Serbs on relations between Washington state and Texas...?
Just mind your dirty little wars all over the world...

Kosovo and Serbia are now 2 separate countries because of a powerful international sell out. But Kosovo will always be part of Serbia.

Mike

pre 15 godina

Condi needs to say this in Kosovska Mitrovica to a crowd of angry Serbs, not in the safe and sterile halls of Brussels, to see where this empty rhetoric gets her. It's absolutely amazing how utterly clueless my Secretary of State can actually be to realities on the ground. But then again, this IS the worst regarded presidential administration in modern American history.

Maybe in your world Condi, but in the REAL world, Kosovo is fake, illegal, and immoral state which is run by your friends, the organ traffickers.
In the REAL world, Kosovo will never be independent. In the REAL world, Kosovo is Serbia.
It always has been, and it always will be. That my dear Condi, is the reality, deal with it.
Cheers!

PRN, you will never live to see the day serbia recognize an illegal state on it's soil. And you think that Serbs and Albaninas will have "good neighborly relation". You are either the world's biggest optimist, or you delusional. Serbs will never sit down with anyone trying to steal their land, especially the criminal organ harvesters in Pristina, representing K_Albins.

Here we go again. The constant repeating of "Kosovo is independent" like she is attempting to convince someone.

When a country is truly independent, one does not need to constantly repeat that fact. Since Kosovo is not and never will be independent, the fairy tale has to be repeated constantly so the people in fairy land begin to believe it.

Time for elections and time to close the fairy book. Nobody in the world really cares for it anyway. The sooner the Albanians and US come back to reality the better.

Well said, Ms. Rice!

Serbia should not continue to hurt itself by acting like a spoiled child in breaking off relations with countries that have accepted Kosova's independence. Kosova is now a new European country and the sooner that Serbia accepts this reality, the sooner it can move towards stability, peace, and prosperity.

Good neighborly relations with all countries, including Kosova, should be Serbia's main interest in maintaining a stable Serbia and a stable Balkans.

> ..but it must be understood that nothing can be done to reverse the situation that developed when Kosovo declared independence.

Won't be long before this person gets tossed out of office. Good. She failed in her job as NSA director when 9/11 came along. And she & her administration have gotten just about everything wrong since.

With that sort of a track record, would you pick 'an independent Kosovo' as a winner? :)

>Speaking of Kosovo, Slovenian Foreign Minister Dimitrij Rupel said that “in December 2007, the EU decided to send a mission to Kosovo” and that “within the existing legal framework and documents, there is enough room for that mission to be deployed.”

These clowns just get funnier & funnier.

(1): First they claim the UN approved EULEX's deployment in a letter - that was never written or sent,
(2): Then they set up an 'International Steering Group', composed of their members, in a bid to legitimise their illegal mission,
(3): Then they send in their advance parties while saying the situation was 'somewhat complicated' & that there were 'serious difficuties',
(4): And now, they have just decided to ignore the UN, resolution 1244 & and all international norms - much as the K-albanians did with their illegal UDI.

Nothing has changed Mr Rupel - just calling the K-albanian UDI 'unique' doesn't make it so.

And calling EULEX's illegal mission legal, is not enough as well.

EULEX may get deployed - at least in the K-albanian dominated regions of Kosovo, but there will not be anything legal about it.

PRN

Dear all,

I think since recognition of Kosovo, comments by Condoliza Rice & Rupel hurt Serbs anytime they mention Kosovo...

I am sorry for Serbian 'patriots' over Kosovo, but you need to move forward...

Kosovo & Serbia should develop good neighbourly relations in order not to inflame minorities livin within borders of each state...

Kosovo and Serbia will face enormous challenges in the future and they need to be supporting each-other, in their separate road towards Euro-Atlantic integrations....

Kosovo will soon open discussion with Serbia of developing sound high level diplomatic relations by openning embasies in respective capitals...this is conducive to progress, not only to two counties, but also to the whole region...

peace to all

Cheers
