Serbs, if they have to become rich and prosperous -
1.have to elect a nationalist Govt.
okay. Kosovo would be very thanksful for that - and each state, which still hesitates to recognise it's UDI.

2. Stay out of the EU cage.
where are you living, vencor? if there is a state in a cage situation, it is Serbia. ask the youth living there how they feel. and tell me, how many would like to return in this situation?

3. Keep on fighting for Kosovo/pride...

yes! and if you do, then let the others to the same. why do you consider yourself a better kind of being?

4. Invite investments and technology from all over the world...including EU...!

what has Serbia to offer what other states inside the EU like Rumania, Slovakia or Polland (just some examples) could not offer? they share a common market - of course you can imagine, what this means, because you live outside of Serbia. will other countries like Russia or China help to finance your infrastructure for to get Serbia on a level like Slovenia or Hungary?

Funcakes-

I think one of the reasons westerns fear the Serbian Radical Party is because they do not understand the meaning of the word: Radical. In the west, Radical, is used to describe extremists and revolutionaries. But, Radical, can also be used to describe something that is very basic and elemental (“Radical Mathematics” for example) which is what it means to the Serbs. So a more accurate English translation of the Serbian Radical Party might be: The Serbian “Grass Roots” Party.

It's funny to see serbian politicians how they try to use Kosovo to gain number of voters, but look like that serbian electorate got smart this time and saw that Kosovo is lost once and for all and now is a time to look forward to EU.

All I can say is that to congratulate people of Serbia on their way to EU. I wish that Kosovo will be albe to sign such an aggreement ASAP.

Our prospective Europeans from 'Kosova' had been traffiking with human organs extracted from Serbian Youths.
All this was and is going on without the EU and the U.S.A. batting an eyelash of regret or reproach. The Serbs have perhaps concluded this behaviour represents European Values as far as the 'Human Rights' are concerned.
Are they wrong,Art?

I find it really cute to see funcake bringing up some financial "argument" about "70 percent of world-wealth" ... oh, wow!
you will excuse that I have never seen that being mentioned in any other political question before?

but since the southern serbian province is of that great importance to the "wealthy-west"... that will certainly be a top-argument! :)

but, somehow, it just looks quite like an artificial construction...since you don´t have the vast majority of states in the world ( 160 if it is of interest funnycake! )
backing you...you have to find some niches in which you have a "more than the others"...

as I said it above.. so cute! :)

let me assure you my dear little cookie, that doesn´t count that much...you will see how that will shift in the next decades... you´ve just jumped on board of a sinking ship, my dear friend...

Vencor's (#7) got it right on the money.
Serbia needs absolutely no EU to prosper. In alliance with Russia and China she will have all the energy she needs as well as an enormous market to sell her products.

And,it is impossible to imagine a proud Serbia dancing to the tune of a Holland or Lithvania in order to satisfy the insaciable and interminable demands of a Europe which never had guts to point out its finger to the crimes committed in Guantanamo, Gaza or Abu Ghraib.
Isolation? What isolation is Tadic ranting about?
Isn't it the time the EU and its stooges get off our backs and let Serbia be Serbia?

Art

Of course the Radical Party is the most popular in Serbia. What did you expect? These are the same people who welcomed and perpetrated the crimes against Bosniaks and Kosovo Albanians. It seems like Serbs agree with them as well thus this society will never manage to reform and think rationally.

They could be as rich as Greece if they wanted, but it's these radicals that keep setting them back time and time again -

Who says that?
In fact with a nationalist policy and proper incentives, Serbia could be richer...provided they are not caught in the EU noose...!

Funcakes, you are a sure funny guy/gal, with remarks like 70% wealth against Serbia...you mean US/part of EU constitute 70% wealth, stop dreaming...

Its probably something like 40% at the most and in the midst of a crisis.

Funcakes,

"When 70% of the world wealth is against you"

You are a really funny cake ! What wealth are you talking of at the edge of the crisis ? Serbia is able to absorb about 5-7 bln euro annual. No more ! But this is the summ many other states can afford to invest alone. Forget of this monetary blackmail tool of yours. You no longer have this monopoly to press upon people. There's no problem with money. We only need a political will from Russia to destroy this propaganda card house of yours.

Let's be back to the item after the Games in Beiing are over. We shall see what happens to the Bretton Wood monetary system and who will ask money from whom in the end .

Nikolic is smart and honest. He has nothing to hide and that's why he initiates the Session. He want everybody to take the masks off before The Serbs go to the polls.

funcakes, since Kosovo is not for sale, those nations with 70% of the world wealth can keep their money.

However, they can't buy international law and that is firmly on Serbia's side. Looks like you are barking up the wrong tree.

Serbia needs to vote carefully on May 11th.

There's very few countries in the world that would even dare to vote for a party that is called "radical".

I don't know what kind of mentality the Serbian people have, but to vote for a "radical" party in 2008 means the poorest business decision ever made in such a great geographic location.

They could be as rich as Greece if they wanted, but it's these radicals that keep setting them back time and time again.

Needless to say, their views on Kosovo are radical as well. When 70% of the world wealth is against you, you can huff and puff all you want, you just won't be able to surpass it. Even if you spent all the 30% that might back you, you still can't overpower the 70% that's against you.

All Serbia will be doing under a radical rule is waste it's time and resources. Of course though, the radicals have done such a good job at working their psyches that people blindly believe that somehow things will swing their way.

This is a good tactic. Yes, let the SAA be ratified so call a session and let the parties ratify it if they dare! The DS can then be exposed for what they and their signature represent!

As we know, signing the SAA is meaningless. It is a dud deal as without delivering Mladic is offers nothing. But seeing there are a few rabbits hungry for carrots, what Tadic did could have delivered a knockout punch but it was delivered far too early.

The SRS and DSS now have 10 days to trash the signing and make Tadic look like a fool. The DS are out and there's nothing Solana or his puppets can do about it.

Yes Time for Double Standards (DS) party to have their illicit and 'indicent proposal' bluff called!

Seeing as they see fit to sign it then they really cant block it going to Parliment! Parliment must then ensure that a condition/clause is placed which allows ratification of SAA dependent only on and conditioned by all EU countries respecting UN recognised Sovereign Republic of Serbia i.e. inclusive of its province & the illegal move of 17 invidual states of the EU, must first correct their illegal recognition of dependence!

Oh what a tangled web the EU weave and how caught up DS (Double Standards) party have allowed themselves to be...!!!

Come on DS you signed it therefore you cant block it from Parliment or can you given Double Standards!
