"Kosovo not condition for EU"

Mlađan Dinkić says even without ratification of the SAA in EU states, Serbia can still achieve candidate status and enter the Schengen White List by the end of the year.

Amazing how both sides excel in spreading dubious "information". There is nothing in the SAA that compromises Serbia's claims on Kosovo. But on the other hand Dinkic is wrong that Serbia can't do well without the EU (see recent growth figures). He is also very probably wrong when he believes that Serbia (or Kosovo) will be allowed entrance while their conflict remains unsolved.

amazing grace -- once i was lost, but now i am found... whoever said that kosovo was "lost"? it isn't the least bit lost, i know just were it is and i shall be returning there to visit in a few months. belgrade has lost the right to rule over kosovA (and to terrorize 90%+ of her people), now and forever. that is right, that is how it should be; that is how it MUST be. all of the threats and lies and fear-mongering, whether from "democrats" or the others is totally and utterly irrelevant to us.

if yr politicians wish to pursue a "fight for Kosovo" strateg as the sum total of your goals and policies, you will see how yr country will continue to sink. yes, it is your country, but i have friends living there and it would be nice to give them some chance for a normal life one day...

You are wrong, these two scenarios are unrelated. The ENTIRE EU has agreed on Serbia signing the SAA, which means that it has now become EU policy to include Serbia as a potential candidate member, later candidate, later member.

The Kosovo issue is unrelated, because the EU has no policy towards Kosovo (don't say EULEX, that is simply a mission), due to the reservations of certain EU members towards Kosovo, most of whom have expressed that they will never recognize Kosovo as independent.

Serbia signing the SAA has nothing to do with recognizing Kosovo, because Kosovo is under UN duristiction (legally) and the SAA is simply a pact signed between Serbia and the unified EU.

Serbia can become a member of the EU and still refuse recognition, as the UN has Serbia recognized including Kosovo, and the 4 or 5 EU members against Kosovo independence are also a part of the EU, meaning there will simply be another one in the club, and I can assure you that the EU will not kick them out only because of Kosovo.

"...and don’t strengthen Serbia economically, which is impossible if we don’t enter the EU soon,” the economy minister underlined. "

here we can see the attempt of spreading fear among the voters...

of course it´s mere nonsense to say economic growth outside the EU is impossible...

hopefully this man will have to step aside after may 11th...

to Dane:

your wishful thinking is understandable, but nevertheless...it stays wishful thinking... the EU needs Serbia more than the other way around. and that´s something you will realize...sooner or later.

What the DS don't understand is that the SAA has to be ratified in the Serbian Parliament, and last time I checked, the SRS,DSS and SPS make up the majority.

It is and it will be a condition until Serbia makes clear and declare no territorial contention on Kosovo. This will be in one or another way recognition by Serbia of independent Kosovo. But, I repeate once again, it is and it will be a condition for Serbia...
Good luck Kosovo on your own way...
