and the Pope is what in regard to international law? I'm an Orthodox christian and i care not what a Patriarch, Catholic, Muslim, Hindu, Protestant, Jewish or any other leader of a religion has to say on the issue of sovereign nations and internal matters.

The UN is where international laws are made and the UN is where international should be upheld. Why would the opinion of an ex-Hitler youth member and head of an organisation who has created so much misery through child abuse and so called religious imperialism, matter what so ever?

john, excellent point and that is the reason Kosovo will never become independent and why the world will never recognise it as such.

With half the non-Albanian population cleansed out of Kosovo and with hundreds of sacred sites destroyed by the Albanians, the UN and the overwhelming world majority have said "No" to an illegally occupation.

It is not China and Russia who have invaded and destroyed Iraq and killed over a million people. It is the same people who are attempting to take Kosovo away and the real international community is appalled by the actions of the US/NATO dictatorship.

No such thing. Politics is politics whether it comes from America or Russia. America has created more misery around the world than China. America has meddled in most of the world so far and left a trail of devestation behind her but nobody accuses America of violating human rights.

How about all those children killed during their bombing raids on various countries? No human right violations there? I would think that those children had a right to grown up at least.

This is all done in the name of humanitarian efforts. So please Johnny don't preach about human right violations in China or Russia. Start looking towards America for that. All the invasions America has led in the name of "humanity" is appauling.

If you examine their domestic record you would be equally shocked. Look at the history of human abuse in the great US of A. Anybody not white middle class has a much better chance of growing up in poverty and without support in America than in anywhere else.

He said:" If a country kills and persecutes its own citizens, then the sovereignty of that country is no longer valid or important. The international community has the duty to intervene, protect and build a life with dignity for the citizens who are being killed and persecuted by their own state."
Serbia did exactly that. In the new world order that you act like you have a hard time understanding Serbia's sovereignty over the same people it was killing in mass just a few years ago is no longer valid . What you, Tsar Putin, and the Chinese do not like about this new world order is that both, you the Russians and the Chinese are in the same business as Serbia was a few years ago; killing and persecuting your own citizens.

i don’t count on ruskies for anything. they have never attacked us, never bombed us, never harmed us, and we share the same blood and soul, but they never stood up for us as they could and should have.
in defending their own interests they spoke on our behalf formidably on kosovo, and really it was the russians not serbia that messed up the eu and albanian plans and that put kosovo in a limbo where it is today. and i will never forget that or stop being grateful for that. but russia could and should do more, all the while defending own interests. lets wait and see if a patriotic government in belgrade is what they are waiting for. let's see, its only days away.

If a Citizen Persecutes and trys to kill another country like Albanians in Serbia they do not deserve Sovereignty or autonomy!

These statements of Putins are some of the best announcements that any politician has made so far about the forceful seperation of Kosovo from Serbia. Good for Putin. But it's time for him to put some actions behind where is mouth is and do something about it. The longer the lingers, the worse it is for all sides.

Based on what I said and my personal belief I believe the following.

1. Palestine should be an independent state.
2. Tibet should be an independent state.
3. Kurdistan should be an independent state.
4. Darfur should be an independent state.
Any territory that has been murdered or persecuted by its own state should be independent.

Second. The government of Kosova never targeted the Kosova Serbs. The whole world, and world organizations that are present in Kosova are a witness to this. Do not mistake this with attacks from individuals. We are talking about state policies here.

Because Hitler and the German state had a state policy of killing citizens of its own country, Germany. So if an insider has learned that lesson we should listen.

It does not matter if someone is a religious leader, UN leader etc. or not. What matters is how much humanity is in their statement. I am not much big of a fan of the Pope myself, but I am able to recognize when what he says is good for the humanity or not.
My view is that international laws are no longer valid if a state engages in the killing of its own citizens. The sovereignty of such a state is no longer valid. Human lives are more important than the sovereignty of a state over the same people it is killing. If a state is killing its own citizens, it is breaking international laws, hence these same international laws are no longer valid for this state, its sovereignty is no longer valid.
