Michael John, thank you for your friendly advice. I will take it with a grain of salt.

Kosovo is hungry for trade. This is all very favourable to you so why whinge? Be glad that Serbia is temporarily out of contest.

But, we all know that Japan has no intentions of trading with Kosovo and is willing to wait till things cool down in Serbia to resume this. This is only a temporary glitch in the relations and eventually all this mess will be sorted out.
Serbia will resume trade with certain countries because as you can see they are willing to wait while not willing to even entertain the idea of turning to Kosovo even in the short term.

Nobody is cutting their nose off to spite their face. Even if they were, sure this is good news to you. Don't worry about the diplomatic game being played out here.

Peggy,

Now, now, why would you want to cut off your nose to spite your face. Does it make any sense for Serbia to turn its diplomatic back on 40 or so countries (and growing) that have recognized Kosova. This sort of reasoning is what got Serbia into the sorry state that it is in now!
Many of the countries that have recognized Kosova are among the most powerful economies on the planet. Serbia should be grateful that these countries still are willing to do business with her. You must remember, there are many countries out there that are begging for foreign investors and that won,t burn down the embassies of their crucially important countries.
A word to the wise! Serbia does not wish to wallow in the Middle Ages any longer, does it?

Hmmmmm......

just sell the Zastava to Honda or Toyota (instead of Fiat) for 1 Euro and offer 10 years tax shelter - under condition of recognition withdrawal. That will be a win-win situation.

Okay, in the worst case Nissan or Mitusbishi.... But say NOOOOOOO to Fiat!

I implore my Serb friends not to let politics get in the way of business.Japanese businessmen are smart and their investmentes should be welcomed in Serbia.Capital knows no borders. However,it is obvious that the less capable Japanese become politicians or diplomats.Shun the less capable ones and deal with the smart ones. This diplomat must be smoking the same crack as the "snake" if he actually thinks that Kosovo is ready to be a country in any way shape or form.

Serbia has withdrawn its ambassador from Japan and the Japanese ambassador in Serbia is prevented from making contact with the Government.

That is the case for every country that has recognised NATOs occupation. Therefore, there are no diplomatic relations, with Japan, Marshall Islands, Nauru, Costa Rica, etc...

ZK UK, what you tell? Serbia no diplomtic relations with Japan? Why you think there is a Japanese embassador in Belgrade and a Serbian one in Tkyo? That the latter is called back home doesn't mean that there are no dipl. relations anymore. God, learn before writing!

"Japan assessed that Kosovo was ready to become a state and ready to meet all international obligations resulting from this status". -
What makes these envoys from advanced, intellectual states like Japan so depraved human beings?

Japan was a great nation once, sad to see it being reduced to a US slave today!

Serbia has no diplomatic relations with Japan so you can keep your opinion to yourself.

Actually I think he was asked for his opinion by some journalist of Tanjug, so you should speak with Tanjug and ask them not to interview people, or to ask them only questions about weather.

Japan can only overcome this by revoking their mistake.

end of discussion, as far as I am concerned... Japan will have to decide. it´s like Bushie once said, ...you´re either with us ( Serbia and international law ) or with them ( the bunch of law-breaching countries which seem to have the intention to weaken the UN )

Belgrade should solemnly declare that it recognizes the Kurile islands (Northern Territories to Tokyo) as sovereign Russian territory. You can expect the Japanese ambassador to stop smiling immediately. In fact, expect the Japanese to be livid.

Peggy

How does he expect the ambassador to overcome this problem?
What exactly qualified Kosovo to become a country was never answered. All he said is that Japan thought Kosovo to be ready. Why? How come all the politicians who represent countries which have recognized Kosovo never ever state what qualifies Kosovo to be a country?

They all read from the same old prepared by the US statement.

As far as Japanese business men and women waiting for Serbia to become stable so they can invest there I say, go to Kosovo. You seem to think that Kosovo is ready now so what's the hold up?

Why wait for Serbia when Kosovo is more than ready according to your government. You have a stable country which is hungry for investors.
