Ban says UNMIK continues under 1244

The United Nations will continue to work within its mandate in Kosovo, under Resolution 1244, UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon said in Vienna Friday.

UNMIK will need to stay in Kosovo twice as long as it has operated in Cyprus.If it has taken the Greeks and Turks 40 years of de facto separation before being ready to talk about reconciliation maybe the Serbs and Albanians can do it 80 years from today.This may seem like a long time but in the annals of history it is analogous to a speck of dust in the mighty Sahara Desert.Shalom
