ICG: Western interference may backfire

I wonder what else did they expect from the nation to rebell first agains Hitler ? Do they really think they can scare the Serbs enough to force them to getting rid of their national dignity and become one of the multiple puppet states ?

Look how worried are the Europeans about Serbia ! Why should they ? What prevented them all these years to abolish visas, to sign SAA, to give loans ect.? None of the Western visitors here asked pardon for 1999 barbaric attack at a Cristian country in the heart of Europe ! They only come here as teachers with presumption of innosence guaranteed as a matter of fact ...

And most aggressive they become when Russia is mentioned anyhow because it's the main goal why most of those people drop here every day as if they are payed for.

looking on the recent developments.. and given that western capitals had a chance to act in a responsible manner...

I´d even call it western stupidity!

The west have behaved totally incompetently with regard to Serbia.

Unfortunately, if the nationalists get in to power the west will blame Serbs and say that they have not 'learnt their lesson'.

I hope instead that the international press pick up on the total foolishness of the international community in the way they have treated Serbia. It is normal for people to want to defend their territory, and it is normal for people to object to being treated as fools.

The EU in particular have behaved stupidly - instead of applying their negotiating skills to find workable solutions they have chosen an unworkable impositional path.

Come on now- how gullible do you think we Serbs are? Does ANYONE really think that the West won't be influencing our May 11th voting? They can tout how non-invasive they will be- but it will be up to the Serbs to SHOW Europe that Serbs are not puppets- we are a noble race of humanity.

The ICG press release also underlines that "Belgrade’s efforts to create a de facto partitioning of the north of Kosovo threaten the new state’s territorial integrity": unbelievable and totally deplorable, coming from an independent "think-thank" - dear "International Crisis Specialists" What about Serbia's territorial integrity?

The ICG noted that, "...the B92 outlet has radicalized in the last 24 months as more and more resentment and/or anti-West movement has grown from Serbs in the West. EU and USA must move quickly and ban their IP address in order to fight against global terrorism..."

HA HA, lighten up.

I don't understand how difficult this is for Serbs to understand. The EU/US are not their friends. The bombing and the continual occupation of Kosovo and then 'granting' it independence points in one direction. That of perpetual conflict. The EU/US/NATO want the radicals to win this election. It gives them extra reason to pursue their expansionist strategy against Russia. I am not a russophile but one can not help notice the obviousness of this strategy.

I don't believe that our Big Burocrats are naive so Given the kind of advices that The Solana's, the Rehn's and Rupel's have repetead in the last weeks , i started to think that in reality EU wants a Nikolic+Kostunica win in Serbia May's Election..
Don't you think so ?

Could either exist on purely commercial terms? Certainly not.

For a 'trust' B92 seems to be very well heeled, recently announcing plans for a 24/7 TV channel. No information has been disclosed as to who will be paying for this.

So, B92 is still very much a child of the west which would surely die without milk from its mother.

Calling the ICG a "think tank" is a misnomer. They don't think, they are just pushing policies. They are always critical of Serbia and are longtime supporters of Kosovo's independence.
In this case they are combining two of their favorite pastimes: harming Serbia and painting a black picture of Serbia in the media.
In fact signing of the SAA by the EU is long due and should not be delayed for macchiavellian reasons. But neither should it be exploited as a way to promote certain parties in the Serbian elections.
