"Ruecker's resignation matter of days"

UNMIK Chief Joachim Ruecker’s resignation could be a “matter of days,” the Italian ANSA agency understands from UNMIK sources in Priština.

With EULEX moving in and UNMIK remaining in its "Reconfigured" state. There won't be much for him to do in Kosovo, so it probably is true he is moving on.

Don’t let the door hit your ass on the way out! Reminds me of the bureaucrats of the British Foreign Service who ran the Empire in the days gone by.

PS – Nicholas, he probably was shot by his own (study your history; from Wounded Knee to Attica), or, knowing my Ukrainian brothers, it was an alcohol related incident. Also, the area was not cleansed of Albanians but is one of the few left in Kosovo not yet ethnically cleansed of Serbs – again check your history and the universally accepted (maybe outside of Albania) demographic data on Kosovo over the last hundred years or so.

Jovan, it is more likely that Belgrade was responsible for that, since charges were pressed against 29 Belgrade officials and he was shot to death, probably not by his own colleagues and not by Albanians since that part has been successfully ethnically cleansed by Belgrade.

given that he´s very likely responsible for the death of one ukrainian UNMIK-man and several severely hurt serbian protesters..

this is good news.

I hope that there will follow investigations in regard to his conduct during his "reign"...

Oh dear one wonders what he could have done...?

Oh what a tangled web we weave acting to the US heed but eventually they will leave...

I am not so sure, both Vetëvendosje! and K-Serbs will ask him to stay longer either.

BTW: (just curious), will he write later a book, too?

Good riddance !
When will this seemingly endless stream of incompetent and biased UN officials stop pouring into Serbia and make careers on another nations misfortune ?
