it amazes me as to how backwards is Serb nation being taken by its politcans, it`s starting to feel like a Milosevic era, using Kosovo Serbs for their political ambitions, the sooner the true kosovo serb citizen`s start speaking for themself`s the better it will be for them,(and please dont count the bosnian & Croat serb settlers) as voies of the kosovo serbs.

Miri - I'm just stating facts which can be found in numerous reports:

"Kosovo's Prime Minister Hashim Thaci also addressed the session, but as an individual.

"The session was held behind close doors due to some Council members’ opposition to Thaci’s presence in the capacity of prime minister."

miri,

You are right. Status discussion is totally out, not even in dreams...even if countries like Russia, Slovakia or Burkina Faso would like one. Status discussion at this point - after recognition by the Western countries, the ones who count - would be like re-awaken a dead horse.
In the coming years you will still hear about Kosovo from Serbian politicians but that will be only for "local consumption".

"Nehat - Correction: Thaci was not at the UN as PM of Kosovo, but as a 'private individual'"

Are you being naive or defiant?
Do you think that you also can go to UN and have a speech as "private individual"?

Also, have you followed the recent events? Have you seen any sign that the status of Kosova will ever be discussed again, other than the whining of Serbia's politicians?

I think: Serbia does not know that the negotiation has been ended one year ago or better say nine.

For Serbs to figure out some think they will take them 20 years, so don’t worry they still have 11 more to go.

Nehat - Correction: Thaci was not at the UN as PM of Kosovo, but as a 'private individual'. Kosovo is not independent despite the celebrations and the recognition from a handful of countries.

It still legally and technically remains a province of Serbia, which will be made clearer over the next months while the structure of new talks is formed.

The UN needs to have Serbia on board which is the only practical way forward, and there is no way that they will take part in talks which acknowledge the 'new reality on the ground' as this would be an acknowledgement that the basis of UNSCR 1244 has changed. It hasn't.

There will be a rewording of the basis of new talks and the 'independence' will silently change into something else - either partition or autonomy.

What exactly are the serbs hoping for? Kosova was represented at the UNSC yesterday as Prime minister Thaci announced the Kosovar governments commitments to support the integration of Serbs.

Stop wasting time and resources to a lost cause. you the serbs people have to realise the reality as Mesic said yesterday in Tirana and accept the Kosovar reality.
