Georgia says Russia shot down drone

Georgia lied so many times that whatever they say it cannot be taken serious. For 2 days they persuaded the world that they lost no planes in Abkhasia and on the third day they blamed Russia (not Abkhasia !) to shoot down their plane in the Georgian air ! Well if it was shot down in Geeorgia then why the parts of the plane were found in Abkhasia where such flights are forbidden by the UN resolution ?

Abkhasia enjoys Russian IGLA Surface-to-Air Mobile Systems which are very effective against any targets flying lower that 5000 meters. So I think it was a deliberate Georgian provocation. You should know that main vector of Georgian foreign policy is arranging confrontation between the US and Russia. Sometimes they are successful but not in the case with the plane for it was Georgia who violated the UN resolution to send the plane to the forbidden zone but not Abkhaia which acted as it had to. It's just Georgia's reaction for opening direct civil flights between Russia and Abkhasia few days ago.

I just saw the video footage on TV. Unless it was manipulated, it clearly showed a twin-tailed MiG-29 shooting down the drone.

Russia, the defender of international law!?!?!? Are you kidding to me!?!?!?

ORTHODOX.RU - are you saying the video is false? That it was not a Russian fighter that shot down the Georgian drone?

Because if Georgia is not allowed to fly into Abkhasia airspace, I very much doubt an Russian MiG is allowed there either.

I also saw Elvis and Mladić in Starbucks, Moscow on Monday.

Really don't believe everything in the news.

There were 2 drones hit down by the Abkhasians. Both were built in Israel with their private numbers 551 and 553. Because the numbers were identified and Israel assumed their origin Georgia had nothing better to do but to change one lie for another. As you know they hoped that the drone had fallen down to the sea. But when the parts were found and identifiesd the Georgians has changed their lie. For the first time they has confessed that the drone had belonged to them. But they started to insist two new things :
1. That the drone had been shot down by the Russians but not the Abkhasians.
2. That the drone had been hit down in Georgian air but not in Abkhasian.
No matter if the film is real or it was combined few years ago it doesn’t change anything cause the Abkhasians has got two such planes and besides such flights in the conflict area are strongly forbidden by the UN Resolution.
There are reasons for anti-Russian activisation of Tbilisi. One is the starting Parliamental campaign with Saakashvili prospects as wery pessimistic. Second is preparation for NATO summit this December to open the door for Georgia’s membership. Third is the General trend of the US to export problems to Russia.
