All of this will be much shorter than expected...We agree if you "turn" Bill Clinton's statue into Milosevic...,"when he was younger",let's say..I insure you (Albanians) that you will have an independent and sovereign state..,according to the Serbian laws, soon!!

Regarding "squat", I fully agree with you and declare Albanians the champions of the world in squatting, hands down. Squatters rights is the term for the unwanted houseguest that wouldn't leave, and then declares ownership of said house. Sounds similar to the situation in Kosovo. Sit and do nothing, produce nothing, provide nothing, take take take and then demand territorial rights.

'After June 15th UNMIK will be visitors. Since they have an office in Belgrade they might as well make that an embassy, that will be more useful. We won't take orders from the likes of the UN, we are independent, sovereign, and free. UNMIK has made their decision now let them enforce it.

I'll soon read about the UN army making Kosovars do SQUAT.

Wow. You were brown-nosing UNMIK, the US, Nato and the EU for nine years right up until the eleventh hour in February, and now that you've got it out of your system, you're turning hostile against your supposed saviours?

That came a lot sooner than I thought it would. I guess the honeymoon's over, kids.

UNMIK will continue to negotiate similar accords with serbs but not to achieve any results but to satisfy those like these commenters that Serbia might somehow return its sovreignity over Kosovo, which as we all know IM.

The final countdown looks to go way further below zero..

You can't do SQUAT without first asking the west and the international powers who rule you.

I don't believe that in daly Zeri was written Dxavit Beqiri, for god sake write names in the original this is English page, and its intended to English speaking readers so how do you think they will read Dxavit. Yea you have learned to make easier to read for serbians by translating names and changing albanian names letters into serbian.

Dear all,

I dont not know what anyone pays so much attention to UNMIK-Belgrade talks.

Both authorities have someting in common. They both ruled Kosovo for years and/or decades. The former rule will end on June 15, 2008, while the latter ended JUne 12, 1999.

Only people suffering from reality-phobia disease (very common nowadays) would heed UNMIK-Belgrade talks...

But you should be used to it by now, right? Nato has been doing that to you since 1999 .....

My prediction is that the Belgrade-UNMIK talks will be to discuss arrangements for the de facto partition at the Ibar in every practical sense of the word although netiher side will openly admit to this. Serbs will run their own lives in the north and K-Albanians will not be allowed to molest them .... KS, here you have it, Nato and UNMIK say to you "Squat! Hands off the north! Do not confront the K-Serbs there because we can't stomach another bloodbath in front of the entire world!" ..... and of course you will comply, just like you have been doing so since 1999!

KS, maybe you should show a bit more respect for the UN. They are the ones protecting you and your interests there.

So you think that the UN can't make you do SQUAT.
The UN can make you do or accept anything they want. They are in charge. NATO is supervising you right now because all you can hope if is SUPERVISED independence.

Where was all this protesting when EU, NATO and some UN countreis went behind Serbia's back and made decisions for Serbia?
It was OK to receive stolen property then but now when they are talking to the rightful owners you protest.

No sympathy from me.

oh boy, we´ll get practical as hell, as soon as unmik annuls the so called "declaration of indiependence", as it did twice since 1999 before.

if not, the trend of the first weeks (4 times hiegher prices) will go on: http://www.balkaninsight.com/en/main/news/9544/

allthough our self-proclaimed balkan analysts here so hardly wanted to tell us, that electricity is coming from the wall and food from albania (lol) and money from eu.

let´s make some new price-facts and circumstances.

Well, technically Kosovo is not a UN member, while Serbia is, so when it comes to discussing technical issues on and about land that is still legally a part of Serbia, the Kosovo government can actually do nothing about it, nor can the other UN members that have recognized Kosovo independence, as the UN is still the only universal authority over the land that is Kosovo. This is why I think that as things stand, the way the Kosovo situation was handled was very bad.

It is nice to hear that they are unhappy - may it long continue that way.

UNMIK are the basis of government currently - and they are a temporary UN measure until a political settlement is made under the terms of 1244. The UDI government is acting as the temporary government of parts of Kosovo until the UN settlement is agreed with the parties involved.

The UDI is not defacto because the UN are the essential government - if the UDI government wants really to be independent, it would need to remove the UN from the land, defend itself successfully against subsequent Serbian intervention and then make laws that are accepted as such without a higher body exercising the rubber stamp.

The UDI is currently a mole in a cupboard, not a lion on a hill.

Short lived JOY is over. Now, back to reality. More unhapiness and complains is on the way for the fake government. As Albanians posters suggest - need to be patient to realize how really (in)dependent they are - more rewards of real democracy and American way of li(f)e on its way.
