Azir,
Lets try it on. You guys are a joke. If the display is not permitted then live with it. Why is that so hard for the Albanians to understand.
Try doing domething against the law in any other country and see how far you get!

Albanian students burn the Greek flag

High-school students from the southern Albanian town of Saranda staged protests at which they tore apart and burnt the Greek flag.

The Albanian TV stations aired footages of yesterday's gathering, when enraged high-school students protested against the inscription "Himara is Greek" that appeared on a wall of the Saranda high school building.

According to the media, the students chanted slogans like "Himara is Albanian".

The students said they planned to hold new protests in the Saranda's nearby town of Himara.

In related news, Beqir Meta in an interview for Albanian Vision Plus TV, talked about Macedonia and the latest developments between Greece and Albania.

"In name dispute with Greece, Macedonia is fully entitled to protect its name," said Beqir Meta, the Director of National Historical Institute of Albania.

Meta told Vision Plus TV that Macedonia has the right to safeguard its name because of its identity, adding "by defending the name, Macedonia has no territorial claims toward Greece".

Meta holds Greece responsible for recent events in southern Albania. He sees the incidents and demands for autonomy of Greeks in Albania, led by Himara mayor, as provocative acts by Greece.

Meta hailed the demands by political parties in Albania for accountability of Himara Mayor Vasil Bollano due to his provocation.

Once again,Our brothers and sisters in occupied Presheva Valley have their freedom to display our cultural symbols threatened and criminalized. Is this what Serbia calls a Democracy? Some thing to be proud of??This is a direct cause of Serb aggression and institutionalized discrimination of minorities. I'm sure Serbia must have more pressing issues than what flags anyone flies.George W . Bush must provide us with the appropiate tools to defend our lives and liberties.Either our rights are repected or Eastern Kosova get re-united with our family for all eternity.

nick, thanks for allowing me to post.upper case lower case, gosh you are so sensitive. It was a typo. We in Kosova respect minorities, respecting highest EU standards. Imagine Serbs constitute less than 6% of Kosova's population and one of two official languages is Serbian, they have the right on double citizenship, local administration of their everyday lives. If serbia respected rights of Albanians in Presheva valley as much as we do in Kosova, things would be so much better. I am now expecting another surprise from our northern neighbours, selecting Seselj followers and hard-wing nationalists to lead your country. Hope not.

ilir(???) learn upper cases first, then you can freely post here.Respect minorities in Kosovo!serb should be Serb. You probably forgot to write that first letter in upper case, right?!And you wrote your nationality in upper case.Is that how you support multiethnic society in Kosovo?!

Nothing starts or ends here, you people just argue for nothing. When serbs in Kosovo can use serbian flags, why should Albanians not be allowed to do so in Presheva valley? no double standards, please! Regards,i

The problem here is that it is not private property but government property - Serbian government.

Further the building was built and paid for by Serbia.

The culprits should not be allowed to be in the building. If they want they can build their own building and pay with their own money and put a flag on that structure.

What do you mean by "And so it ends!" That Serbs have to accept it or that it will be to prepare them for what is to come? What I meant by "And so it starts" is that this could be the beginning of new ethnic unrest in Serbia that Serbia did not ask for. It is a clear provocation by ethnic Albanians that in many countries would not be tollerated and considering the experience Serbia had and has with ethnic Albanians Serbia has all right to be suspicious with the message that is sent by this incident. It is indeed common that worldwide all kinds of flags are on display, but in most cases there is no political meaning behind it. One has to consider some unique sensitivities in this case and it is quite silly of ethnic Albanians to display Albanian and the fake Kosovo flag on Serbian soil. I am sure that Dutch people would be upset when every house in a street in Amsterdam in a neighborhood where Turkey's immigrants are a clear majority display Turkey's flag. This is a clear rejection of the host country, society and culture and then one has to ask why these people actually want to life in The Netherlands if there is no bonding at all (except to the welfare system and more freedom than in the country of orgin). In a democracy like The Netherlands there is freedom of speech and religion, but in some cases displaying a flag can have a political message. Of course the display of the Dutch flag is not a sign of display of power of the Dutch over foreign guests.
