I believe Nadeem means to say that it's rather ironic & outrageous that nations whose armies drove out Serb forces from Kosovo to have citizens that have the nerve to support the Milosevic regime.

N.A. has got a point. The way I look at it is Milosevic's non-pityful sympathizers don't only have to be Serbs all because his non-Serb sympathizers are just as non-pityful.It is ironically outrageous that nations that drove out Serb forces from Kosovo have some people who are and or might be supportive of Milosevic and it's most ironic and outrageous that some Muslims seem amicable to the late Milosevic.

The thought that comes to mind with regards to that book that Carla DelPonte authored is is she trying to state the facts or so-called facts or is she trying to make Albanians or some Albanians look bad. The ironic reasons concerning Carla DelPonte allegedly tarnishing the reputation of or some Albanians is because she prosecuted the late Slobodan Milosevic which could have made her heroic to some Albanians & others ,if she didn't care how she upsetted Milosevic and his military & civilian supporters then it's "music to my ears", if she was at the forefront or spearheaded the effort to have the Hague Tribunal deny Milosevic's request to seek medical treatment in Russia and lastly she stated that she deplored Milosevic's death during his detention at the Hague all because she felt that his death deprived his victims of a possible guilty verdict for him. Finally I know how it is some people are touchy about those who appear to demonize all Serbs so we shouldn't demonize all Albanians as well.

A proper investigation must be carried out by legal reliable sources in regard to organ trafficking. This horror crime has world media coverage and it cannot now be swept under the bed.

Tim judah is one of the most respected english-language journalists, and i agree with his conclusions: this entire matter should and must be investigated. beyond the very questionable issue of the organ-trading, there are hundreds of missing of both ethnicities, and it is horribly painful for those survivors, and sickening that the missing have been pawns of the politicians, esp the blgd crowd. i cannot condemn them enough for what they have done in the past, how they have deliberately slowed the process of identification and eventual return. unlike the supposed trading in organs, this HAS been the topic of much of our conversations while researching about the recent balkan wars/genocide and its aftermath.

judah has earned our respect and admiration; del ponte is an entirely different kettle of fish.

Doni, how do you know there is no truth in Del Ponte's statement? If you know more about this pelase share it with the rest of us.

You say this with such certanty that you must have some sort of evidence to back you up.
On the other hand, if this is all fabricated then the Albanians should be eager to have this investigated if only to prove that Carla is a liar. I wonder why they don't want an investigation and why they want the book banned. Selling books is democratic while banning it is not. What does Albania believe in? Democracy or dictatorship?

Finally someone saying they will do something. I hope this will not end at just that, somebody saying they will do something which they never do. Lets get to the end of this and find the truth and end all the speculations. Next step is for Serbia to bring the issue to the Hague Tribunal. As an Albanian I fully support this. There are two reasons why I support a thorough international investigation on this issue.
1.) The truth should be known and if any crime has been committed it shouldn't go unpunished. Also if this turns out to be false Carla Del Ponte should expect to be sued really soon, at least from the Albanian side. These are grave allegations and accusations and she better hope and be sure they are true.
2.) I am confident that these allegations are not true simply based on the fact that at that time in Albania there were all kinds of secret services, and journalists roaming all corners of the country. Things like this when you're under scrutiny do not go unnoticed especially at a time when if you where a large group in 1999 in Albania and you spoke nothing but Serbian everyone would know about your presence. I am talking about cities like Tirana and Durres, let alone in a city of less than 10 thousand people as Del Ponte claims.
That said I also expect all the Serbs here to support the search for the truth of the fate of around 3000 Kosova Albanians that are still missing. You cant expect us to support you while you refuse to do the same.

doni that is explained in the chapter of the book I mentioned.

I know that small minds cannot see past getting one over upon one another so you will be pleased to know that Del Ponte did not spare Serbs from criticism in the quoted passage either.

why on earth we should waste time even talking about such fabrications? why del Ponte didn't investigate or even mention it when she was at Hague but now after she writes a book she mention it?

It's good to change focus of serbia, from eurovision, elections to such pure fabrications, so they will be busy

"If authorities in Albania and Kosovo announced they would investigate the case, this would show that they are serious countries that want to see rule of law," Judah said.

I think this should be a fair statement acceptable for both Serbs and Albanians. It is in the interest of both sides to investigate this most horrible case and figure out what had really happened.

If Albanians think this is just a fiction of Carla del Ponte
they will have nothing to fear about, so let the investigation begin!

hrb

I do have to say I have my doubts about this organ trafficking story, and if it isn't true (which it might not be - when I first heard it I thought it sounded like rubbish) must be proved to be so, by a full and proper investigation. Thaci and the Kosovo institutions are not helping and neither is the hysterical accusations about Del Ponte's book "being anti-Albanian". Where have we heard this before?

Nobody seems to even know exactly what is in Del Ponte's book. For all we know apart from this organ trafficking thing it might revolve around atrocities by Serbs. WE DONT KNOW.

I mean there's a difference between criticising an entire country (Albanians) and criticising the KLA. If these accusations are false (which I suspect they may be) then they need to be demonstrated to be so, beyond any reasonable doubt, and a full investigation launched as to what really happened to those 300 Serbs and any other missing people, including Albanians.

Someone out there knows what happened to these missing people and they must be found and punished.

Let's pray this is not true. But I hope their is a quick and fair investigation, because if there isn't this will have an effect on future generations.

I don't understand why Thaci won't investigate(but I have my hunches). Like Judah said these Serbs did disappear and that in itself means something was not right.
