Gaz from UK – actually I can trace my lineage back as far as 1780 and have paid taxes and National Insurance since I was 16 (now 55). As for your job good luck to you however the fact remains you stated you stated you were envious of people living in Kosovo. I am sure your new found skills would be more than welcome in your homeland – so please go and take a few more Albanians with you – Mr Brown will not miss you I can assure you. The fact is that the many Albanians who have sought refuge outside of Kosovo will not go back because the country is kept afloat by remittances from those of you living abroad. It is safe for you since you have the International community to ensure you can live safely. And by the way it is you and me who are contributing tax £s to ensure this happens a matter of much regret to me.

Will,
granted it's only 19% but what % of the world GDP is that? Does it matter if Somalia or Chile does not recognize us yet? Not really. US and the West do matter. Soon enough Serbia will be forced to sign.

As far as a part declaring independence: Let's not forget why you got Kosovo in 1918 (Thank you Russia) and let's not forget the rapes, killings and some 70,000 houses you burned just 9 years ago hoping Albanians would go to another country so you would have "your land". I am not sure if it is even reported in Serbia, given how your media is censored (hell, I am not even sure this message will be cleared,) but the world does know. It's over, no one will force Albanians to live with you again. You ruled Kosovo in the 12th century, and that it is along time ago. Britain ruled Normandy at that time as well. For ages (1878, 1912, 1918, 1945, 1999) you have tried to get rid of all the Albanians, but we're still there...in the same lands we were when you cam into the Balkans--in the 7th century. You should read history from unbiased sources, and not dismiss as "anti-Serb propaganda" those views that tell you something different. If you do, you will be like the Chinese regarding Tibet.

Dear Ben:
I said most of the nations not all the nations. All US wants is military presence in Europe, as near to Russia as possible. Why they are still in Bosnia for example. They will be in Bosnia and Kosovo not for years but for decades to come. And what is ridiculous or silly about "independence" being illegal, unilateral, against international law and against Resolution 1244? I am not surprised that 81% does not recognise it. How would England react if Yorkshire or Lincolnshire declares independence? Or how would US react if Texas declares independence? Do you see what i mean?
Regarding leaving, Kosovo needs their young people now more than ever. But young people are immigrating all over the world because life in Kosovo is very bad. No employment, no income except the one that comes from abroad and crime and drugs are worst in Europe. Other than that doors are wide open for Muslim extremist and dangerous religious teachings.
I hope that EU would accept all remaining countries in Europe, in time, so that they would all be part of EU working and trading with each other improving standard of living stepping down on crime and extremism rather than proudly and arrogantly claiming somebody else’s land causing further conflicts and destabilization of the region.

Will: how it comes that US cannot “force” Cyprus to recognize Kosova but can "force" France, Germany or Japan. Don't you ppl. get how ridiculous this type of statements are?

As for leaving, the one that should leave are the foreigners that earn unjustified high salaries in Kosova thanks to the tragedy that Kosovars had- and still judge them.

You live in a post-war and post-colonized society that is still strugling for legitimacy, democratic governance and legal property rights.

When some of you highly paid "experts" will understand this you will avoid making silly statements.

Will

Only 37 Nations mostly under pressure from US accepted "independence". Out of 192 Nations in EU that’s 19%. Only 19%. 81% did NOT accept illegal "declaration of independence". For those who want to go back please do because many are leaving Kosovo, running away from the worst living conditions that region ever had.

Come May 11 the Serb areas of Kosovo WILL be a base for Serbian elections, whether Sejdiu likes it or not. His posturing is just for the domestic consumption of the K-Albanians.

To gaz.uk as a Brit born and bred I can assure you that many of us would be really happy to see you leave the UK. Presumably now you have your own so called “country” it is safe for you to return. Maybe you could persuade as many of your fellw Albanians to leave also. Your country needs you or are you keeping the place afloat with remittances from your UK salary or welfare benefits?
(Clive, 19 April 2008 00:30)

To Clive if you are a true Brit and if Clive is really your name..

I have paid my duties enough to Britain already

As a Social Services employee I have been taxed enough in the UK, believe me mate. And I still managed to
get a successful position Within Social Services looking after the Children of Britain who are abandoned by their parents.

I don’t think Gordon Brown would let me go and work in Kosovo that easy.
As Britain needs people like me. So Clive next time you comment on something you don't know the facts very well. Think before you comment.

I can understand if Sejdiu and friends thinks Serbian local elections in Kosovo is a provocation. But hey, wake up, Serbs of Kosovo must, at the very least, be allowed to vote at the Serbian parliamentary elections. Serbs living all over the world are allowed to vote, why would Serbs in Kosovo not be allowed to vote?

If UNMIK uses force to stop democratic elections it would be a scandal of scandals. And it would be interesting to read their motivation. I wonder if they will try to squeeze the word "democracy" into the explanation to why it was necessary to use brute force to stop democratic elections.

Princip,
I believe you mis read what the president said. Come June 15th the constitution will take effect and that is when real economic progress can start.
That is just the reality whether somone likes it or not.

Mr. Sejdiu needs to realize and understand two things:

First, if the elections go through, which in all likelihood they will, his statements will be little more than a joke, testifying to his inability to comprehend reality. His credibility is non-existent in the enclaves.

Second, if elections are in fact prevented, it will be done by KFOR and UNMIK, not the KPS, and certainly not by Sejdiu, also testifying to the actual limited powers this man really possesses.

In my opinion, Sejdiu is probably one of the most irrelevant people in Pristina. I've seen crossing guards with more legitimately recognized authority. If he's that sincere to the K Serbs, go to North Mitrovica and tell them that directly.

And in Serbian.

They cannot be citizens of the province of Kosovo, they (apart from immigrants) are citizens of Serbia. The will of the citizens of Serbia is that Kosovo remains part of Serbia but with strong autonomy to deal with the ethnic divide. The citizens of Serbia have not voted for a new country to be formed in their territory.

The peripheral minority whose ethnic interest is mainly related to an adjacent state have laid many illegal claims, provocations and by using various deliberate policies have disrupted the area sufficiently that they have made tools and fools of the US and NATO. For that I do congratulate them - although I hope their temporary UDI falls over sooner rather than later in favour of the political settlement required by 1244.

The words of Sediju are telling indeed;
"That is only possibly when we have a sovereign and not just provisional government. With a provisional government, without a set status, there can be no true social or economic development,” said Sejdiu"

- "when we" i.e. still to occur, a 'possible' future event that is still not reality and may never in fact be!

Reality is sinking in and though Sediju continues to be delusional and deceive even he accepts there is still no status and no soverignity as an independent state!

Sediju should watch out for such Freudian slips as others might suddenly realise how duped they have been!!!

Oh what a tangled web we weave when playing to the US puppet masters need!
