The illegal cutting of forests is a popular activity not only on the Kosovo border but in all the successor countries of the former Yugoslavia. Crime without borders -- Albanians, Serbs, Bosnians, Montenegrins, everybody is involved in timber poaching.

That's because it's quick, easy and -- once the thieves make off with the wood -- a form of theft that is highly profitable and rarely punished. The result is not just the losses to property owners, but also lasting damage to the environment as entire hillsides are stripped of forest and laid bare to erosion.

I am not suprised. And Kosovo is supposed to become a self sustainable economy: holding up one hand for money from the EU and international community and with the other hand steal.

The "New Borne" state, and like anything "NEW BORNE" completely helpless and dependent on the EU to feed it and changing their diapers for decades to come.
