"In early June that year, shortly before the end of the war, U.S. bombers targeted military structures when they dropped depleted uranium bombs. But what they hit were the civilian homes of Planeja, razing almost all of the buildings to the ground."

Did the bombers assume soldiers were using the Albanian 3-storey houses to hide in - but that wouldn't make sense to only attack them at the very end of the war then.

Were the bombers trying to cause more damage to Kosovo to get Albanians to blame the Serbs or proved the media with more photos of destruction to blame the Serbs. Or maybe it was done to increase the anger of Albanians - at coming back and finding their homes destroyed - to direct at the Serbs as part of systematic ethnic cleansing fired up by a sense of revenge.

And the picture of their life prewar - three storey homes, successful businesses all around the former Yugoslavia, better health (lower rates of hypertension and cancer) doesn't speak of things being bad or oppressive at all

Good luck getting any sort of admission from the US regarding the use of depleted uranium, cluster bombs et al.

Let alone an admission of responsibility or liability.
