Given that Serbs presumably haven't voted in any of the "Kosovan" elections for about ten years or something, why shouldn't they have a right to vote in their own? After all, Kosovo is a part of their country and was created illegally.

By the way I was disgusted by my government's decision to recognise Kosovo, Serbia has done appalling things but they were not the only guilty country in those wars and should not constantly be punished as it just looks like the West are bullying them.

Louie, according to you the richest countries in the world have recognized Kosovo so that makes it OK.

So what are you saying? Money talks? Very democratic indeed. If you have the cash you can have anything you want, whether it is legal or not.

Very democratic indeed.

Kosovo is recognised by the richest countries in the world.I don't understand how still some of the commentators believe that "Kosovo is Serbia"!!!Kosovo is the newest country in the world and better start believing and stop dreaming!Kosovo will never ever be under Serbia!!!It is time to recognise Kosovo as a country!Peace and Love!

Even Milošević tolerated the shadow Albanian structures in Kosovo, why should Albanians or anyone else prevent Serbs from expresing of their choice? Is there some special secret rule preventing Serbs from right of selfdetermination?

I wonder how long Serbs will let you dream about your independence.
As far as democracy and law and order are concerned, they will have a chance only after Serbs restore control of this south Serb province.

Suzana,

Don't blame Serbian side when they just respond partially for injustice and actions by world bullies for ignoring 1244 - they use it as the only way to stop "humanitarian bombing" in 1999 - and than waited some time to pass - and then try to trick the international law and trash the resolution by declaring shamefull UDI.

You should read-collect more info what triggered the Srebrenica massacre - who provoked and let it happen.
It wasn't justifiable response from Serbian side and they should held responsible for terrible things they did - but again the other side was not innocent either.

Since last local elections were boycotted by Serb minority, it is time for Kosovo’ government to do a partial local re-election in some of municipalities where Serbs are majority. However those are competence of UNMIK in cooperation with Kosovo Elections Commission. Serbia can ask for local re-election in those municipalities although Serbia was the one who forced Kosovo Serb minority to boycott those elections.
It doesn’t hurt Kosovo democracy to give them a second chance to elect their officials but there is no connection between Serb local and presidential election with Kosovo local election. Even before when Kosovo was in status-quo, local and parliamentarian elections in Kosovo were organized by UNMIK and KEC. Tolerance toward Serbs must not be endless story. Democracy and low should be respected.

UNMIK don't have authority to legitimise, only to supervise.
why are you albanians getting scared? afraid of the world finding out how many serbs you forced out of KOSOVO and just how many are still actually there? and that you still actually live in Kosovo in Serbia (not Albania). You albanians in Kosovo should all have to prove when and by what means you entered Serbia (Yugoslavia).

Let the Serbs vote in Kosovo.

Honestly, who cares? This is the equivalent of U.S. citizens abroad voting for the presidential elections in America.

That's it. There's no territorial claims whatsoever.

Finally, even if Serbia says that they will hold voting in Kosovo that doesn't make it necessarily so. I doubt the UN will allow it.

What about "international law" that war mongers in Belgrade likes to mention every time some one ask them about Kosovo.

Serbia is just showing once more that they do not care about UN or international law.

This summer Bosnjaks will mark 13th anniversary of Srebrenica massacre and those who committed this inhuman crimes are still at large, despite many resolutions in the UN Security Council saying Serbia must arrest Kardzic and Mladic. Instead Serbia gives them money and breaches international law every second.

UN should be very clear and say that Serbian elections can not be held in Kosovo. According to 1244 only UNMIK can hold elections in Kosovo.

This is yet an attempt to give the power over Kosovo to the Serb minority in Kosovo.

I have a question for RIK,
Where city councli of Prishtina will be seating? Maybe RIK will built a house of cards in the middle of Prishtina.
I can say one thing that these so called elections in Kosova are for public consumtion in Serbia proper. Belgrade knows very well that these elections have no meaning for Kosova, and they will be null and void.
