If DSS and SRS both insist on recognizing the borders of Serbia before signing any agreement with the EU, why does Kostunica hesitates to admit that fact, and declares clearly that the positions of these parties are practically identical on that issue.
Those (Tadic &Co) who preach that Serbia can defend its claim on Kosovo from within the EU, are either fools themselves or hoping to fool the Serbian electorate. Does anybody in his right mind think that Brown,Sarkozy,Merkel or Berlusconi would give a hoot for the opinion of Boris Tadic or Vuk Jeremic?
Europe is scared of the potential Serbian troublemaking and that represents the best trump card of Serbia in this game. Don't let's waste it foolishly.
(P.S. And, Nota Bene, Serbs, there is a life outside the EU. Our People's destiny is not to live on its knees)

What will happen in the October elections. Isn't that about the time for new elections to be called.
How do you have a democracy when 2 months after an election someone in the govt is not happy with the outcome and dissolves the govt.
Also there was big publicity of Kostunica resigning and then he wants to control everything.
The one thing I have grown accustomed to is reading "we will wait to see what happens in the Serbian vote"
It is hard to believe anyone would quote "Wikipedia" as a source. It can be edited by anyone with a computer. No professor would give high marks for finding it in your reference section.

Lets consider this scenario:

Kosovo/a remains with Serbia proper. OK Albanians are a minority currently, but by the year 2030 there will be more Albanians, then the there are Serbs in Serbia proper.

What is that 22 years time, I believe. So then we'll be equals.

Now imagine an Albanian as president of Serbia proper. A prime minister that is Albanian. Oh God forbid a Foreign Minister that is Albanian. Scary eh!

As a comedian on HBO said Albanians multiply like Blattidae's.

So let the future unfold and lets be equals.

Peace to all :)

I'd rather stick with those who are willing to defend Serbia and its people.
(ZK UK, 14 April 2008 19:21)

Dear Zoran, why don't you go back home to defend Serbia inside it's territorial integry? Why do you "stick" day by day with people which recognised Kosovo? I can tell you: in Serbia you would be at the right place - but at the wrong time. in UK you are at the wrong place at the right time.

ZK UK

I cannot agree with your Nick.

The US is simply an occupying force on Serbian territory. You seem to be easily fooled by smoke and mirrors.

I'd rather stick with those who are willing to defend Serbia and its people.

I am fully aware that Kosovo is gone because of the US, it does not take a rocket scientist to figure that out.
Your link to the definition of what a puppet state is, really does not resolve the issue. Once again, it has been proven that talk is futile. The Russians can keep on stating that the US is in breach of international law, however, that will not resolve a thing. A majority of the Serbs are disillusioned if they believe that they could regain Kosovo through dialogue, Good Luck!!
I couldn't fathom the double standards and hypocrisy initiated on us when I read that we can hold elections in Kosovo, but on a different date. The Serbs are being humiliated in every sense, and unless we decide to stand up like we have throughout history, we will eventually become a minority in another country. Because if we give up on Kosovo like Tadic wants, wait and see what is waiting for us afterwards.

ZK UK

Nick, why is Kosovo gone? Because the US says so? Kosovo is occupied Serbian land, plain and simple. Don't be fooled!

This time Kostunica won't be able to remain "neutral" if only he is not going to commit suiside as a politician. This time the stake is too high and it's the fate and the future face of Serbia but not only EU integration price. The Serbs have to solve what kind of a state they wish to have and if they are cosmopolits now or they are still the same Serbs as their ancestors used to be ...

Be strong !

I've been reading a lot of your comments and you keep on with the same rhetoric stating that the Albanians are being duped and let's see what the future might bring.
Being Serbian myself, Jovan, you are being duped!! Wake up and smell the coffee, Kosovo is gone. There is no law that will bring Kosovo back because the US does not respect any law!! I guess the Albanians are proud of being on the WRONG side of the law (but what else is new). Short of Russian military presence, Kosovo is a done deal because that is the only law the US will respect. Let's see what the future brings....

ZK UK

Sounds to me like Koštunica is determined to preserve Kosovo and will not sell it to the highest bidder (like the DS). No wonder why the Albanians and US dislike him so much. He is the real deal!

Remember, it is only the occupiers that are attempting to take Kosovo but it will never happen and they will eventually have to leave. We are more determined than them and the world is backing us up.

Tom, have a great time in Beograd. I was in Dublin during Easter. Lovely people and lots of construction. Crains everywhere and great restaurants!

don´t mix up your illusions with serious suggestions!

Serbia won´t need nuclear weapons at all! it has much more powerfull means: international law backing Serbia´s position and more than 150 LEGALLY RECOGNIZED countries worldwide which are not "recognizing" a shadow-republic on sovereign serbian territory!

I know that is hard for you to accept, ...but some day you won´t have any choice.

let´s just see what future brings!

"When I say a decisive influence, I mean on the general development of the country, economy and the needed legal reforms and European integration, and the fight for Kosovo which has begun,” Koštunica said, adding that it is only important that the principles he supports are being implemented.

Why did Mr. Kostunice not implement "the principles he supports" as PM? Why does he hesitate instantly to talk about economical facts, welfare and social security? His speaking bubbles are empty of substance. for someone who runs for being PM this soup is very thin.

PM Kostunica,
I suggest that you forget Kosova once and for all. Not you and not anybody else can ever, ever bring back Kosova under Serbian boot, unless you borough some nuclesr weapons from Russia and nuke Kosova.

"Seselj told B92" ????

Is this what might be called a "Freudian slip"?

My own feeling is that the numbers will decide what happens after the elections. The new administration will comprise whatever combination of parties can form a majority government. In other words, I would not rule out another DS/DSS coalition. Despite all the harsh words, realism will win over. Just wait and see.

PS. With the permission of the moderator I would like to issue an invitation. I will be in Belgrade from next weekend. I invite all posters who are around to meet in the Irish pub on Kneza Milosa on Monday 21 at 7pm. Or Tuesday.
