The Stabilization and Association Agreement (SAA) can only be signed on April 28 if full cooperation with the Hague Tribunal is achieved by then, meaning the extradition of Ratko Mladić, said Maxime Verhagen’s spokesman.

And I suppose that kosovo being signed independent by the serbs is a condition to?
You people disgust me.

The earliest possibility mentioned by EU officials for Serbian EU membership is 5 years from now. Many EU officials call that time frame optimistic and speak of at least 7 to 9 years. Yet when it comes time to interfere in Serbia's elections, the EU is willing to sign just about anything on the eve of an election in order to deceive those Serbs who are still foolish enough to trust the EU.

Many Serbs continue to suffer from an extreme identity complex which leads them to think that if only we declare our love for the EU and NATO, then finally, the 19 NATO countries (most of them EU members) that bombed us will stop hating us and start liking us.

It is time to end this kindergarten-like thinking. The EU states will only like Serbia once it is fully colonized and subsumed under the authority of EU overlords. Tadic and his Democratic Party have demonstrated that they are willing to sell Kosovo for a signature on a meaningless scrap of paper. And that's only the warm-up. The next step would be to sell the whole of Serbia in return for appointments of a couple of Serbs to key EU functionary positions so that they could announce to the world: "See, they truly love us, they even let a Serb chair a meeting in Brussels!"

The day that happens we are truly lost.

Here are the facts:
1. We Serbs are the "white niggers" of Europe in the eyes of the EU.
2. We will continue to have this status in their eyes regardless of whether we are in or out of the EU.
3. The reality that we are a free, brave and independent nation at the heart of Europe can only be proven by behaving in that manner.

Serbs! Up off of your knees! Elect a government that does not include the Democratic Party! Remove President Tadic from office and send him to Brussels to work as a janitor (He will thank you for what he will see as a promotion.)

May 11 is decision day for Serbia: to be or not to be free!

More conditions/humiliating terms etc will follow...

Forget EU,concentrate on Kosovo and state building -
If Last year Armenia attracted around more than $600 million of direct foreign investment, there's no reason why Serbia can do much more...!!

Promising to find and extradict Mladic, doesn't say when, there is no time pressure which is a good thing.
So please say yes because this yes anyway doesn't mean a thing. So many lies are out there...look t the Haradinaj case for instance.
Yes, we will give you Mladic. One day.
Sign the deal and go to hell.

The Council of Europe would monitor fulfillment of these commitments, and would have to give its appraisals of cooperation unanimously.

So now Serbia's membership is in the hands of the Council of Europe with 47 members http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Council_of_europe#Membership to provide approval (including countries like Albania, Croatia and Turkey).

Talk about moving the goal post. Time to give up on this dead-end carrot and move to build links with those who respect us and have similar interests.

The DS and partners will soon be dead in the water and it's time for a new Government to steer Serbia towards our natural friends.

EU membership is just a joke. It's not going to happen for Serbia.

Serbia had more than 10y to catch Mladic and Karadzic but Kostunica didn't want to.

Now instead of blaming Kostunica and Seselj (and the Serbs that vote them) I see here Serbs and pro-serbs here poinitng finger to Tadic and Solana and Holand.

Or the ppls is blind or simply think that Mladic and Karadzic are their heros and need not be judged.

If Serbia joins the EU. It will actually allow Serbia more protection for Kosovo. It will give them veto power for Kosovo and it would be even more difficult for Kosovo's IUDI to be valid. This can take many years, but its a good start. Nobody that is running for office is going to sacrifice Kosovo, including Tadic. If that were the case then there would be more chaos in Belgrade and Serbia as a whole.

I must agree with some of folks here: this is a clear cut attempt to prevent Sheshel's party from coming into power. I think this is wrong on two levels.

First, Serbian people should have the ability to to choose whomever they want to represent them without any pressure.

Second, preventing Sheshel's party from coming to power will only extend Serbia's agony. Let them come into power and prove what they have. I am convince they will prove themselves to be incompetent and harmful to the interests of an average Serbia.
If the Radicals are prevented from coming to power, they will still remain the largest party in Serbia and will constantly agitate for stupid and radical ideas. They will always claim that they are better then others, and this will appeal to most voters.

So for Serbia's sake, let Radicals come to power now!

Boy, that Solana sure talks lots. Out of all the mumbo jumbo he said, I did not see anywhere where he says that he recognizes ALL of Serbia as a partner.
You see, Javi, all the Serbs want to hear is that one sentence, one guarantee, that you regoznize Serbia as a WHOLE. That's it.
Otherwise, please shut up, because the rest of the garbage that you spew, we don't want to hear it.
Oh, and quit pretending to be our friend. We Serbs know your true colours, which you showed while you were happily bombing us illegally for 78 days.

The answer is quite simple: The SAA doesn`t mention any borders. So it`s up to the serbs. If they don`t want to join the EU, they don`t sign it.

So the DS are readily willing to sell Kosovo. Only a fool will believe that the EU or Serbia within it (without Kosovo) will help our cause.

Why would that be the case when you have the powers of the EU all recognising Kosovo, you have all EU members approving the EU force that is simply there to implement the Ahtisaari plan, which gives them independence.

Give them an inch and they will take a mile. Signing the SAA is selling Kosovo.

"We need solutions that will improve the region’s stability and enhance the quality of life of its citizens,”"

- But Solano should realise it is as simple a solution as respecting international norms and laws and thus respecting Serbia as a WHOLE - the question must be asked first what is Serbia signing upto - an SAA for Serbia as a whole? The EU should respect Serbia as a WHOLE but have not and this is not of Serbia's making they themselves have created this EU distrust amongst the Serbian electorate. That they cannot comprehend the result of tehir own actions and then blame Serbian electorate for responding as would any other citizen in any EU memeber highlights the hypocrisy of such Eurocrats who 'lord it' not unlike the Hapsburgs and then wonder why they are not much liked!

Are DS, Tadic et al happy to sign away Serbia's territory for a 'promise' but no guarantee of 30 pieces of silver if they do not first clarify that Serbia as a whole is signing upto SAA?

I dont think there is anyone in serbia who would object to SAA for ALL of Serbia but that must be very clear as to what signing the SAA actually means!
