Obviously this man is so obsessed with the imaginary title over that Serbia lost a decade ago, that he is prone to keep an entire nation hostage, under absurd viza curtain. Hope the Serbian common sense kiks him out of politics once and for ever!

nedamonte,
Thanks for your opinion.
The opinions I express here are only my personal opinions and I am not sure that these opinions have anything to do with me being a romanian. On your comments reagrding my country, well, everybody is entitled to have an opinion, but I guess it only matters what we think for ourselves regarding our freedom and independence.
I really wish that Serbia would become a Switzerland, but unless you are able to atract in your banks most of the money in the world, it might be hard to acomplish such a goal.
For one thing I agree with you: "The Serbs have no other brothers but themselves" and I really hope that most of the serbs share the same opinion with you and since you were reffering to romanians before, I can only tell you that we have learned this lesson long time ago. We have no brothers, sisters, mothers, uncles or anything, cause in the end we will always be an island of latinity in a slavic sea, sometimes watching other "brothers" how they treat each other.
I also hope that after the elections in Serbia the outcome will be a solution acceptable by all sides and the serbs will stay united in dealing with kosovo issue.
All the best

Well played Kostunica!
I'd like to view at this as a poker game, and Kostunica have two aces and the flop came out with another two aces. Four of a kind! Pretty hard to beat, but Solana now wants Kostunica to belive that he sits on at least one of the two aces, wich he doesn't, its a pure bluff from Solana and Kostunica should not only call, but raise since he sits on the winning hand and will profit more since Solana is unlikely to fold. Thats why politicians never can win in poker, they are to proud to fold, even when having bad hands.

Hej Dejane,

you are a Serb, therefore you have the right to be wrong. I will not return your spite though...I do wish you the best!
As to your R "brothers"..., what where they doing while Serbia was being bombed to smithereens? They were busy begging to be admitted into the very criminal organization that was bombing their "brothers"... Now they are part of it, fact which implicitly condones the aforementioned criminal act. The Serbs have no other brothers but themselves. One is called many things, but being called Albanian, (even if only surreptitiously) somehow really tops it. I should be upset were I not to find it really funny. You made my evening, thanks.
The simple truth is that the scenario had been already written in the higher places. Tadic reelected with fake promises and dreams of an European Neverland, then Kosovo "independence" followed by the submissive silence of a sleep-walking Serbian people. And here comes Kostunica who, for all his faults, has proven himself to be a true Serbian patriot. Let's just hope that all Serbian patriots will get together and realize that they don't have to accept any diktats and that Serbia's future is in their own hands. Serbia's future, that means Kosovo too! Nedamote

Mircea and Adrian, please disregard the comment of a person signed as "nedamote". I doubt he is Serbian himself as this seems to be the favorite discipline of some Albanians visiting this website (sign with Serbian name or even writing in Serbian and then writing negative comments about friendly countries). If he indeed is of Serbian descent, then I am sure you will understand that this is not how overwhelming majority of Serbs see their Romanian brothers. Cheers, Dejan.

Rila,
How can I make this clear to you....Serbia will never recognize your fake, illegal, and immoral puppet state. Never. Ever. Understand?
As for war crimes, what war crimes? Those were all proven NATO lies. The only war crimes here were from the albanian organ traffickers and the NATO humanitarian bombers. Putting down terrorism within its own borders is what Serbia was doing, and I challenge you to prove that war crimes were commited by Serbs. And please don't invoke that 'Racak massacre', which we all know was a complete hoax. The NATO mouthpieces who claimed '100,000 dead albanians' are proven liars now, and it is them who should be tried in the Hague, not Serbs.
Kosovo is Serbia.

it is so unfortunate and to feel sorry about the Serbs who find the courage to take such a unproductive view of the EU who is offering them a preliminary ticket to its structures...

Smile: if you say NO FOR GOOD to the EU u will become like an African country who will beg the West to take you out from isolation because Russia will be done using the Serbian support as a tool to establish world power balance with the U.S and to be considered as IMPORTANT again after being sidelined for many years and watching the "game" from the bench..
Get used to the idea that Kosovo is GONE and it is for your own good to look ahead and prosper in line with EU coz that is the way to go...so unfortunate that Milosevic's doctrine is still alive and exercised by the ones who are hiding war criminals and who are willing to isolate the country by securing votes in the coming elections in order to remain in their hot seats..
Don't forget, EU is the way to go and you guys should do the neccessary to avoid ur future being taken over from the post-Milosevic political leadership camp....

Wake up coz you will have no choice and sooner or later you will recognize KOsovo and even open ur embassy there...Let's all forget what has happened although many families in Kosovo are with wounds open still coz war criminals who you keep hiding have dismantled bodies of kids and innocent people...despite that, we are showing our readiness to establish healthy relations as two separate countries and as two neighbors..

Mircea and to a lesser extent Adrian,

why don't you mind your own business and leave Serbia alone. Your country has never been free or independent, the Serbs have an idea of freedom that Rumanians simply can´t understand. You have simply exchanged your Soviet master with an "European" one. Without the bombing and the embargo, Serbia would be what it has always been compared to your country.. Serbia was not targeted for destruction because it was weak or poor, but because it was strong. As a non-aligned country, Yugoslavia did very well. Switzerland is the richest country in the world, yet it isn't part of Europe. Given the chance of a vote, more than half of the old European states' people would vote for leaving the so-called union. So please, go on and worship your new-found European God and leave the Serbs and their true friends alone. They will show the world that they still have blood in their veins. 31 days to go! Nedamote
P.S. Tom, you rock!

and lets stop playing games. which country can become eu candidate or member with undefined borders and border disputes? no country. so, of course serbia will be asked to recogonize kosovo if it wants to join. therefore good job, kostunica, keep squeezing ds. counting the days until we confirm our freedom and sovereignty in elections. I sense corruption with the DS and the EU!

If there is anything fishy going on, then there truly will be unrest not only in the Balkans, but Europe as a whole. The Balkans are a ticking time bomb ready to explode and the EU does not see that. Please do not start problems in Serbia for it will be a large mistake, Macedonia and Greece is an escalating problem and lets not mention Kosovo. The last thing needed is Serbs to feel betrayed by their own govt.

Serbia is not in the same "mind set" as Albania 20, 30 or even 1 year ago, Serbia never was and never will be, because Serbia is not a closed tribal society just recently opened up from decades of isolationist dictatorship and extreme poverty. Serbia is a democracy and has been for long, even when communist.

If you want to compare your country, try something similar, Somalia for example...

This is a cheap attempt at fear mongering. Kostunica just wants to keep his cushy job and will tell lies to do so.

Sadly the older people who vote in large number are the ones who believe this.

Younger Serbian voters need to vote for the benefit of their future.

Well, well. First we have Eurocrats telling the Serbian voters to vote for the Canak coalition, and now we have Mr. Martens telling our political parties not to make alliances together. Their meddling into Serbian internal affairs shows no bounds.
Perhaps they are afraid of Serbia exposing their blatant anti-Serbian policies, and THEIR own failures.
If being anti-Serbian, giving the right to self-determination to all ethnic groups in ex-Yugoslavia except Serbs, keeping Serbs behind barbed wire in ghettos, watching while albanians burn Serbian churches, helping terrorists steal 15% of a country...If all these things are 'European Values', then sorry Mr. Martens, Serbs want no part of the EU.

One of the main purposes of this election is to decide whether to enter the EU with or without Kosovo.

Now that the SAA is being waved before the election, it is obvious that Solana knows an SRS-DSS allience is likely to win power and reject selling Kosovo.

Again, more dirty tricks
coming from DS and Solana.

Nikolic and Koštunica need to do everything to stop the SAA in its tracks. If it is truely offered, it will demonstrate complete desperation coming from the EU.

This is a little bit silly.
Kostunica is getting upset about this document for nothing.

Why?

Firstly this document has nothing to do with recognising Kosovo or not.

Secondly in order for this document to become law it must be ratified by Serbian parliament so signing the document means nothing, if it is voted down.

No, what Kostunica is really scared of is that he could lose votes in the election. There can be no other logical reason.

Serbia is, in my opinion, under a very strong emotional phase after UDI and I think nobody can blame them. Imagine how we would have reacted if this would have happened to us. The most important task of the EU before and after the UDI should have been to prevent the feeling that Serbia is the pray of the west, by adopting a balanced position on the Kosovo issue, something that Eu failed to do, failure that is pushing Serbia in the open arms of Russia.

Koštunica is following the European path contrary to what Mr Martens suggests although he rightly has a condition that Serbia joins with her province of Kosovo.

Should Serbia sign anything without that guarantee, the EU mission would be justified and the plan to snatch Kosovo would gather steam.

Another message this article confirms is that an SRS-DSS coalition is likely to succeed in the coming election. Now that will be cause for celebration!

European values? Hmmm.

Do these include:

1. Assaulting a sovereign state without any legal mandaate
2. Dismembering that same state
3. Supporting a terrorist/criminal organisation

Hold your nose Mr Kostunica and politely tell this man to mind his own business.

I am amazed about the way some Serbian citizens think. For example, some Serbs think that signing the SAA is a "threat" for Serbia. The people of Serbia should know that Serbia will have many benefits by establishing closer relations with the EU. If the EU is a threat then why are Croatia and Macedonia working so hard to become EU members? The SAA and the EU cannot be considered threats to Serbia.

you are a Serb, therefore you have the right to be wrong.
Nedamote

This is a cheap attempt at fear mongering. Kostunica just wants to keep his cushy job and will tell lies to do so.

Sadly the older people who vote in large number are the ones who believe this.

Younger Serbian voters need to vote for the benefit of their future.

This talk from Kostunica is ANNOYING! Please Mr Kostunica don't treat us like idiots! The SAA is nothing to do with Kosovo. You use every chance to attack President Tadic. We see through it and we know how to vote. Thank you.

The last thing needed is Serbs to feel betrayed by their own govt.

as we have learnt, signing and ratifying are two different things. lets leave aside that our parliament woudnt ratify this. lets look at the eu. the eu which is acting illegally and dishonestly can sign the saa to help their party in serbia ds manipulate voters, and then after elections say, but we cant ratify it until you do this, this, and this. i suggest to the eu, go for this creative solution. show your ugly face fully for all to see.
and lets stop playing games. which country can become eu candidate or member with undefined borders and border disputes? no country. so, of course serbia will be asked to recogonize kosovo if it wants to join. therefore good job, kostunica, keep squeezing ds. counting the days until we confirm our freedom and sovereignty in elections. NO to eu, now and for good.

Nedamote
P.S. Tom, you rock!

it is so unfortunate and to feel sorry about the Serbs who find the courage to take such a unproductive view of the EU who is offering them a preliminary ticket to its structures...

Rila,
How can I make this clear to you....Serbia will never recognize your fake, illegal, and immoral puppet state. Never. Ever.

Cheers, Dejan.

nedamonte,
Thanks for your opinion.

Obviously this man is so obsessed with the imaginary title over that Serbia lost a decade ago, that he is prone to keep an entire nation hostage, under absurd viza curtain. Hope the Serbian common sense kiks him out of politics once and for ever!
