This is the best marketing the book could get. Del Ponte should thank her employer.

As long as she is a Swiss ambassador, Del Ponte speaks for her government. Like any other diplomat, she is required to clear her public statements and public appearances with her country's Foreign Ministry. The Swiss Foreign Ministry has decided that her appearance at a book promotion for a controversial book would not be compatible with her status as official representative of her government. Every government has the right to impose such limits on its active diplomats. Once Del Ponte has left the diplomatic service, like any other retired ambassador she will be free to write and to say in public whatever she pleases.
However, please note that Del Ponte's book has not been censored or suppressed -- even though the Kostunica government tried (unsuccessfully) to have its publication blocked at the last minute.

Despite those efforts to prevent it from being published, "La Caccia: Io e i criminali di guerra" ('The Hunt: I and the war criminals') was released last week and is now on sale in Italian bookstores; it is also available from Internet booksellers --

So far it has only appeared in Del Ponte's native language, Italian. An English translation of the book is in preparation and will be published in January 2009.

But just the other day the same kind of people were "unable" to ban the highly offensive movie Fitna by a Dutch parliamentarian for reasons of free speech. This is called DOUBLE STANDARDS by all accounts.
Carla del Ponte's book should go on the Internet, make it public. The more you try to suppress the information, the more the truth will come to light.
Then Carla del Ponte should answer why this information has not been made available when it should have been - with the implication of a serious miscarriage of justice. Disgusting...

Now that's a real Democracy! What happened to free speech and expression!?
Its pathetic!!!

It is ridiculous for Orthodox people, to only expect some tiny dozes of (informal) justice whenever an western ex- (diplomat, officer, etc...) cant stand living in lies any more.
Del Ponte is a criminal (for preventing criminals), no matter how many books she writes after retirement.
We should build our "International" court in Moscow (or Belgrade) and have all these scumbags break rocks 12 hours/day.

What kind of western democracy is this?
