Jeremic still doesn't understand that Kosovo's recognition depends on quality, not quantity.

They don't care if 100 countries don't recognize it. That doesn't even matter to Kosovo.

As long as the big players recognize it,like America, France, Germany, UK, Italy, Japan, South Korea, Australia, Sweden, Finland, Holland, Turkey, that's all that Kosovo needs. And fortunately for Kosovo, they all recognize it.

They don't need anyone else because everybody else is controlled by those big important guys that I listed above.

Sorry Mr. Jeremic, but you're fighting a mission impossible.

"Kosovo has always been spelt with 3 Os in English and that is unlikely to change so let it go, please."

Why? In the past, the English speaking world knew Beijing as Peking. That changed. Sri Lanka used to be Ceylon. That changed. Zimbabwe used to be Rhodesia. That changed.

Isn't it about time that Vienna is correctly spelled Wien, Naples to be spelled Napoli, Rome to be Roma? And could everyone please stop using the name Copenhagen when the real name is København?

Mr. Jeremic,

The BIGGEST weapon that you posses is HOPE...

I think even when the UN accepts, you should always keep hopes...(future may bring surprises :)

Shqype,

Why do you not have the decency to spell Kosovo properly, seeing as we are speaking English here. The bastardisation of the name is perfectly acceptable when you're speaking Albanian but Kosovo has always been spelt with 3 Os in English and that is unlikely to change so let it go, please.

Tymi,

"The train of Kosovo independence is running and has passed the first tunnels. Nobody in Serbia and outside Serbia can not stop it anymore."

It already passed the first tunnel and enter Albania. But Albania for years had limited railroad system. As of 2007 Albania has a 447-kilometre railway main network and 230-kilometre secondary network in poor state and restricted speeds. The network covers a wide range from North/South to West/East. It is linked to the international network through Montenegro as well as to Durres port (Albania’s main port) for the transportation of goods.

THE NETWORK IS NOT ELECTRIC AND WITHOUT SIGNALING SYSTEM.

Remember this! NO SIGNALING SYSTEM. And you are on the DEAD END track.

it really looks like Jeremic has reached nothing at UN and I wonder if he spoke directly to the UN general secretary, as Jeremic tried to pretend in another monologue to media. I was laughing a lot when I saw his pink UN V-card on B92 ... it looks like Mr. Jeremic did not even enter the lift to meet Mr. Ban.

Jeremic and some of you commentators are missing two important points:
1. States were created before the UN was established and they will be created after the UN. . If the UN ceases to exist, how will Serbia maintain Sandjak and Vojvodina? Just a quick logical question?
2. 90% of the UN bills are being paid by the US, EU, Japan and Canada.
Is Serbia thinking about this?

which countries will vote for Serbia?
Has serbia forgotten that majority of these countries are relied on foreign aid that comes directly from the EU and The US?

I am sorry, but Jeremic has no clue of what is going on. I feel sorry only for the innocent Serbian people who are being lied and betrayed by their bogus leaders.
Jeremic has a bright future, but this one could easily end his career.

Jeremic, a question for you:
Do you remember how the US declared its Independence in 1776? Wasn't it Unilateral?
Or Do you know the definition of Unilateral?

Perhaps how Switzerland was a country for over 1000 years and just recently joined UN in 2002.

One fact: Kosovo is an independent and sovereign country. It's independence is as legal as the independence of the United States or Ireland or any other democratic nation in the world.

Have a good day!

Reidl, NRW brings up two excellent points: Kosova is recognized by the greatest allies it can have on its side ... the Allies! The West recognizes Kosova; who cares if Russia and the Middle East doesn't? With the backing of the United States, Britain, France, Germany, and others Kosova has secured the foundation for nationhood. The rest will come later. And Jeremic should realize that those ~150 countries which didn't yet recognize Kosova ARE NOT against its independence: they simply haven't recognized it yet. There is a big difference.

Also, one sees in Jeremic's dealings with Muslim countries his change of tune. Serbia traditionally painted a picture of itself as a gallant Christian nation defending Europe from the Muslim horde of Albanians, claiming it to be a religious struggle. Now, when confronting the Islamic world, Serbia insists it was never a religious struggle, but an "ethnic and political" struggle (which the Albanians have been saying all along). It's funny how Jeremic (and Serbia) changes the story in order to garner support for the Muslim world.

The picture of Serbian Christianity is also tainted when you consider that the Serbs burned Catholic Churches in Croatia during the Yugoslav wars, and a strong minority of Albanian Catholics in Kosova also fought for independence from Serbia.

Reidl, NRW

In my belief it is not important the quantity, rather the quality. I think that Kosovo(a) got recognized by the biggest players in world today, and therefore they are benefiting from EU funds too, what would Kosovo benefit from Pakistan?
Oh by the way, speaking of Pakistan, a country that did not recognize Kosovo, a 100% Muslim country right? Isn't this contradictory with what serbian camp used to write here that Kosovo would be a heaven for terrorists? It is proving to be the other way around, anyhow very lately Serbia signed a deal worth of 300 m € (it was published in b92) for supplying Iraq with arms, same did Miloseviq during the Embargo, when he used to send arms to Saddam?! Very cynical of you, throwing the stone and hiding the hand! But don't worry, for we Europeans know who you are!

I understand that the task of a FM is to do everything to serve the policy of his government and his country. The problem I see in all the attempts Jeremic is that he is trying to profile himself as a great FM Serbia ever had. The same is doing Samardzic. These guys are spending the taxes of Serbs since one year without any serious success. Jeremic knows very good that he and similiar do not have any chance against and EU policy as well as against 3 members of UNSC. With this "clever" request, Jeremic is looking to legitimate and institutionalise a good position for himself after the elections. The train of Kosovo independence is running and has passed the first tunnels. Nobody in Serbia and outside Serbia can not stop it anymore. The last advise for Serbia(n) is to hurry up and catch the next station, otherwise it will be too late. At least for the Serbs leaving in Kosovo. The last will suffer more from anti-european Serbian government.
