"He added that Kosovo will develop relations with Albania and Montenegro, and claimed that the latter, too, "will recognize independence soon.”

Did you mean Macedonia and Montenegro? Because Albanian has already recognized Kosovo.

Blero 16, your math translated into practice... Geez, lots of handshakes, lots of work... Keeps you busy, busy. But I forgot it's not simple building the bright future of a country for both the master and servants.

Logic #11

Logic,
I like your sense of humor.
You see Logic, Bush might decide to wear 10 watches a time therefore cut the number of trips to 200000.

Lids #12

This is where the facts are looked at from the relative angle.
You see Lids, you believe that Yugoslavia supported Kosovo.
We believe in the fact that Belgrade was build with Kosovo money.
We believe that Kosovo was exploited to the last drop of blod.

There is a saying in Kosovo that translates like below.
“Trepca works, Belgrade gets build”.

Now Lids, tell me who is right, me or you?
You know that you are right, and I know that I am right.
Do you believe that I can convince you otherwise or that you will convince me otherwise?

Finally: Marko 1 and Marko 2.
So you don’t confuse me any more (as you can see it does not take a lot to confuse me) can one of you change your username? I don’t want to upset the wrong person in the future.

donors' conference? what are they donating that got thaci so interested, kidneys?
either way, kosovo needs investments, not handouts. donors conferences are for losers without any economy. but there will be no investments, because kosovo is in a limbo. nobody knows who rules it, how far it stretches, nobody knows what the next two weeks will bring not to mention next two months. the creators of this mess, eu, u.s., and albanians have their hopes pinned on us now, that we will lie in our own grave, as a nation, and then get up from that grave and spit on it, i.e. 'recognize kosovo'. well albanians. if that is your best hope of sorting out your future, i will tell you for free, you're pretty damn hopeless.

I though the main news was that Thaci claims that Montenegro and Macedonia are about to recognise Kosovo. It seems like you lot are just interested in the money.Serbian and Kosovars have something in common after all.

I am the second marko, the one that suggested the cuckoo clocks. Lawrence B. Lindsey, former white house enconomist to George W. Bush calculates that the Iraqi occupation costs the United states 100 BILLION dollars per year and that over five years 500 billion has been spent. Other economists, who are not Bush insiders have made calculations that are four times larger than Mr. Lindsey's conservative estimate. If we use Mr. Lindsey's estimate, in the fifty days since Kosovo's lawless declaration, the United States has spent $13,698,630,136.98 ileagaly occupying Iraq. that is aproximatly 8.5 billion Euros.

600 million euros is not even a tenth of this amount and it is not a lot of seed money, and it seems that the 40 wealthy western countries don't have a lot of faith in Kosovo's success.

I wouldn't be quite as happy as you are when your western geusts forget to bring a gift and then forget to leave.

btw german cuckoo clocks that chime Trink, Trink Breudelein, Trink are classics that never go out of fashon and would be much more usefull to Kosovo albanians than the latest nato hardware that Georgey boy wants to sell you

If anything Thaci knows about a welfare a lot.First 70 years albanians were supported by then Yougoslavia and now EU.When are they ever gonna start funcioning as a society that can support it`s self without asking for handouts.
And what happened with billions in drug trafficking.
Or should we ask ANA about that.

Logic

Dear Blero, FYI, Germans make those funny clocks as well, but that's besides the point. Of course you can get a wrist watch for $5.00, although that too might be expensive for some people. One can get a watch nicelly for free, but that might be sort of a problem: to get a watch per capita, in a populatio of abt. 2mill. Bush has to visit the pet country abt. 2mill. times. HOw? But there must be the way around the problem, I'm sure you can make it work.

I, Marko @ the Angry Mob, wrote the first message, not the second. I hope your life will be easier now: let me put things straight for you: Every single Euro cent that goes into Kosovo is money for Serbia. tachi will, of course, get it and use it for his dodgy business, he should at least pay tax on it and give it Belgrade.

ISG got this idea of the donnor convention in June I think. That money isn't going to go to the Kosovar citizens but to build Kosova C (3.2bn Eur).

Marko,

I accept your first posting with the following additions.
What you put forward in the first posting is something that might unfortunately happen.
Monies are often “lost” when the governments are involved.
This is however not the case only in Kosovo.
The same can be said if the Serbian government gets that level of funds for investment in Serbia. Look at the monies that Milosevic’s government took as an example.
What guaranties you that the existing Serbian politicians are not doing any money laundering?

In the second comment you just went overboard.
I don’t know why you had to put the second comment at all!
Marko, I thought that Swiss made the Cuckoo Clocks!
In the 21st Century, why would anybody want a cuckoo clock for 300 Euros when you can get a wrist watch for 5?
And Marko, I thought that the investments would be used for the Vrbica-Merdare Highway and for Prizren community (not the whole Kosovo).
Therefore 600 mn Euros would buy more Cuckoo Clocks per head (or Swiss Cuckoo clocks instead of German ones).

Marko,
Any investment is welcomed.
Any progress is welcomed.
We hope that Thaçi’s predictions come true.

Thaci must understand that he has no mandate to build bridges roads or anything else in Kosovo. Kosovo is the property of Serbia he does not own it and has no right to build anything without the agreement of Serbia.

Of course he has absolute control over the Kosovo Albanians and can continue to teach whatever he likes in their schools.

There is an important distinction here the Albanian populace of Kosovo have achieved their independence from Serbia but that independence does not extend to the sovereign territory of Kosovo which is still a part of Serbia.

Svabo

pre 16 godina

Thaci sounds like a desperate man. No more countries recignizing Kosovo -- what is he to do? Make false promises to get Kosovo in the news.

How long has Kosovo been getting aid? From former Yugo, from EU, from whomever!! They have been getting aid for a very very long time. So where are the schols, roads, infrastracture, and all the nice things? They should have been build a long time ago. Opps, I forgot, most of the money gets pocketed by KLA and never reaches the people.

Marko

pre 16 godina

If two million people are to recieve 600 million euros, I think that will equal about 300 euros per person. Thats not even enough to buy a nice german made cuckoo clock.

I wonder though how much of this cuckoo clock fund has been marked for Mr. Bush's weapon shipments.

I guess the people of Kosovo don't need roads and schools, or the European Union would be a little more helpfull.

“In early June, a donors conference will be held in Brussels, and based on the prepared project by the local government in Prizren, EUR 500-600mn will be received for the realization of the project,” Thaci said

And I say it would be interesting to see in reality how much of this money will be effectively spent for projects and how much will it go in tahci's and his fellow "friends" pockets...get real albanians

Not bad! This will help Kosova alot looking the state budget is half of that amount of money. Better roads, healthcare, electricity 24h and new schools is what the money should be spend on in the first place! The future is looking bright...
