That's not very good history. Moreover, it's neither fair nor decent to generalize about a whole nation. And what you wrote is definitely not fair about Bulgarians in general.
In fact, Bulgaria's role in the Holocaust is rather unique and can be a point of pride for Bulgarians. While Jews were (shamefully) deported by Bulgarian authorities from the lands Bulgaria occupied in Yugoslavia, in Bulgaria itself massive protests by Bulgarians, headed by the patriarch of the Bulgarian Orthodox Church, stopped the deportation of Bulgaria's Jews.
Since you won't believe me about this, you should read either of these books:
Michael Bar-Zohar, Beyond Hitler's Grasp: The heroic rescue of Bulgaria's Jews (Holbrook, ME, 1998), or
Tzvetan Todorov, The Fragility of Goodness: Why Bulgaria's Jews survived the Holocaust (London, 2001)
