"One measure that could win hearts and minds of people in the Balkans is to continue working on the visa-liberalization plans for all countries of the region by completing soon the so-called roadmaps, setting down realistic and concrete conditions which, if and when met, would open way to visa-free travel," the ministers wrote.

Two comments:

1 - we have seen the story about "winning the hearts and minds of people" in Irak. I'd like to hear some comments: did it work?

2 - "the realistic and concrete conditions": you said with no preconditions, Hague aside. Then you ALSO require biometric passports. Why on Earth do you need their biometrics?

The abolishment of the Visa regime for serbia,is another part of big Kosovo cake for serbs.We all know that the day srbia signs the Visa Free regime,Kosova`r citizens will travel without VISA to europe.
And we all know the reason,Nor serbs dont really wont to protect the srbian church`s in Kosova,they are more interested in Minerals,hahaha.
Lets talk about future,the Natality in Srbia is in fall,and its counter in Kosova,what after 20 years,when Kosovar`s will be 4 million,and serbs without Vojvodina 2 million,do we have to conquerr it,no sir they will ask for Kosovars to come and work there,and earn Srbian mn$ for sure.

I wonder what had stopped the EU all these years to do the same things ?

And what I am sure of is that the new EU approach is on one hand a direct result of the Belgrade and Pristina riots and on the other hand an open support for Mr.Tadic at the elections to come.

I would beg B92 stop quoting what Rupel and Kouchner say. Does anyone really believe them? Slovenian ambassador to Kosovo said while shaking hands with Thaci in front of TV cameras that 'Slovenia has been working for 20 years for the independence of Kosovo'! As regards Kouchner, such great country as France is should be ashamed of choosing such an individual for its Foreign Minister. The man has no manners at all.

"and frontiers have to be guarded and controlled properly. These are technical conditions, and we’re sure that Serbia will meet them relatively soon"

- what is this? Is this a message that the EU are giving the green light for full implementation of UNSC 1244;

"4. Confirms that after the withdrawal an agreed number of Yugoslav and
Serb military and police personnel will be permitted to return to Kosovo to
perform the functions in accordance with annex 2...

annex 2;
6. After withdrawal, an agreed number of Yugoslav and Serbian personnel
will be permitted to return to perform the following functions:
- Liaison with the international civil mission and the international
security presence;
- Marking/clearing minefields;
- Maintaining a presence at Serb patrimonial sites;
- Maintaining a presence at key border crossings."

- wonder if the Eurocrats understand the contradiction they place themselves in? Maybe Serbia should call thier bluff fully on such words - be surprising how quick they recall such words!

Are the free visas really that big of a boost to Serbia? In my mind, this is a very minimal show of support, but I don't live in Serbia so I'm really not sure what Serbians think of this EU hypothetical offer.

As far as signing the Stabilization and Association Agreement (SAA) was concerned, Mirel said that he could not understand certain Serbian politicians who were ruling it out because of the EU’s position on Kosovo’s unilateral independence declaration, when the agreement stipulated that the province’s status was still governed by Resolution 1244, and that article was unchangeable as long as the resolution remained in force. That is sure a lot of double talk. Who is he trying to fool when Brussels EU is doing every thing contrary to 1244. When Brussels pushes its own self serving agenda runs over Serbians peoples common sense. Brussels has no respect toward Serbia only lies and hypocrisies coming from the Brussels politicians. If some one tried to do the same thing to them and their lackey countries of Brussels it would mean war on their part with out hesitation's. Brussels feels it can bully ,lie ,coarse country's not part of its hypocrites anonymous of the self serving big members pretense of a democratic elites club. The EC official said that one of the aims was abolishment of the visa regime for Serbian citizens, and that that matter would be brought up in Brussels in the next few weeks, and that a list of conditions would be drawn up for abolition.” Their is always a big price to pay with Brussels and their offers ,conditions that no independent country can except without doing major harm to its people independence rights of the country ,have to be surrendered and given over to Brussels hypocrites. To do as they feel and want not what is lawful or right and normal. Mirel said that he could not understand certain Serbian politicians who were ruling it out because of the EU’s position on Kosovo’s unilateral independence declaration. Thats to bad he cant understand not every one is a simpleton like these EU representatives who are so full of them selfs and of their self serving arrogance.
