Read a book not published in Serbia, or Kosovo.
(Francis, 2 April 2008 19:12)

Francis, just who do you think you are, that you think you can lecture the Serbs on their land, their history?

Just because a book is written by a non-Serb or published outside of Serbia does not automatically mean that it is more accurate or less biased than a 'Serbian' book.

Peddle your pseudo-intellectual, racist attitude to someone more gullible than the Serbs.

I'm willing to bet that, at best, all you've done is read some formulaeic anti-Serb drivel by 'Balkans experts' and watch some propaganda labelled as 'in-depth coverage' by a cable news network.

You can be smug in your own circle of the uninformed but you're in a completely different league here.

We Serbs are very aware of our own history and the parts played by our neighbours and by those that today call themselves our friends, whilst chopping us to bits.

You would do better to investigate the history of your own people, whoever they are.

Stevan, Ana and others,

This might be a serb forum and you might be serbs, but i can tell by your comments that you have never been in Kosovo (or at least not lived there for a considerable time) between 1989 - 1999, and you seem to get your information from dubious and biased sources at best.

Unlike you, i rely on my eyes and my own account.

And I am sure you'll call me a liar again and accuse me of spreading propaganda, but thats irrelavant since the whole world knows the truth, hence the reason why you got bombed and why Kosovo is independent.

Even your FM Jeremic admited that Milosevic had commited henious crimes against albanians. Is he spreading albanian propaganda too? in case you are a DSS supporter, don't answer that!

PRN

Ana,

I agree with you in principal but the essence of your comments is utterly unrealistic as it does no portray the reality in the ground in the 80s nor now.

We all in the balkans know but dont want to admit to whom Kosovo belonged/s and what happened...just remember one simple fact(internationally recognised, by also both Serbian and Albanian historians)...
"Albanian did not come in 7 or 8 cetury in the Balkans. Albanians were already here about 3000 before Serbs came from Russian Carpats"...

As far as 80s and 90s are concerned if you find 1,2,3 or maximum 10 Western high-profile article that in general portray Serbs as victim and the Albanian are the bullies... you would be very lucky...there are millioins if not billions of articles and/or books about what really happened in Kosovo in 80s and 90s. Rest assure they know better than me and you ....

Back to the subject of the article:
1.Kosovo territory is not for sale,

2.It is better that Serbia has nothing to do Kosovo-Macedonia border negotiations...

Thus Serbia should mind its own business...

Ana, enough with the holier than though attitude. Replace Serbia and Serbian with Albania and Albanian in the sentences you wrote and we have you and the other typical Serbs here blaming the rest of the world for Serbia's situation due to Albanian propaganda. Before pointing the fingers at others and other places please take a deep look at yourself ad your own state.

It really gets comical here.
Ana again learn history a little bit more, and don't see it from the perspective of a Serbian patriot. In the Balkans the big powers have always drown the borders. Berlin Congress, London Conference, Treaty of San Stefano. Its always been and will be like this. Kosova/o is no different. This time Serbia is on the wrong side of the game-plan. Its as simple as that. Serbia is no different, despite all the myths you like to hear, it bows to the decision of the big powers. This time around, us Albanians have big powers supporting us too. That's the only difference.

RE: Francis

I must say that I am really impressed by your comments or the other Albanians here...

Do you listen to yourselves? Do you ever feel ashamed? Do you ever feel regret?

Whatever and whoever publishes something that do not suites you its Serbian propaganda...

B92, Carla del Ponte, UN for Drugs and Crime, BBC, CNN, The Times, Financial Times, New York Times, everything is Serbian propaganda...

An article from the NY Times published in 1987 telling what was happening in the then Yugoslavia is Serbian propaganda...So Kucan, a Slovenian politician that is quoted in this article, is Serbian propaganda as well...

I knew all of you would say something and try to justify the written but not in my wildest dreams did I think you would say this is Serbian propaganda...

And YOU are telling me to read more than Serbian books? As seen I read much more than Serbian books, but its all Serbian propaganda as long as its says one bad word about you...

Have I ever in any of my posts stated that Milosevic did right in 1999? Have I ever said that hundreds of anti serb articles or books published around the world were not true and were only Albanian propaganda?

As I have stated several times before, the HUGE differences between the ones like you and the ones like me is that I DO accept and regret the bad things done by Serbs...while all of you still live in denial...

I am actually now convinced that all of you belong to the Jainist religion. In case you haven't had the time to read about Jainism because you have been so bussy reading all the other world literature (except Serbian propaganda of course) I post you a link here so you can find out more about it...I thought most of the Jainists lived in India but I got it wrong, they are all in Kosovo and Albania.

Nikshala, Francis, other Albanian posters, why are you constantly keep repeating this same old propaganda about evil Serbs, evil Milosevic and peaceful, innocent Albanians? You can sell it to the foreigners, who don't have any clue about our region, its history, culture, customs e.c.t. But this is a Serb forum, most of the visitors know back ground very well, so your propaganda is useless. Much better to say it as it is. Our nations are fighting for centuries over the territory and this is not going to stop any time soon. Last decenia's global situation gradually changed in your favor and you want to maximize your gains. Your ambitions will not be satisfied as long as you don't have your "Dardania", which includes parts of Monte Negro, Greece and FRYM. Success of your project is completely dependent on the continued strength and support from the US, which is slowly veining. You are understandably euphoric about you recent gains, so you want more. But you should keep in mind that situation could change and if you continue to antagonize other Balkan countries you could face some kind of Orthodox alliance against you in not very distant future…

FRYM, I sympathize with your difficult position, you basically have a gun pointed at your had. If you don't do as you are told, Americans can always let your friendly minority to start shooting at you again. Your only chance is cooperation with your Orthodox neighbors. Make peace with Greece and let protect our common interests together.

“According to the Ahtisaari plan, the demarcation of the Macedonia-Kosovo border must be implemented in accordance with the plan for Kosovo’s internationally-supervised independence.”

What a joke. No recognized body has voted to accept nor enact the Ahtisaari plan and yet it is the basis for the implementation of further decisions.

KS says..”We will go to hell before we let Macedonia have the gift that Slobodan Milosevic gave them, which was Kosova's territory.”

Get a grip! Who ever “We” are, you have no power.

Such statements remind me of a small child hiding behind the skirt of their mother and yelling, making sure that they can hide again behind their mother’s skirt to protect them.

You have no say unless the EU and US gives you permission.

Quoting a piece I read…” Kosovo is not gaining independence or even minimal self-government. It will be run by an appointed High Representative and bodies appointed by the U.S., European Union and NATO. An old-style colonial viceroy and imperialist administrators will have control over foreign and domestic policy. U.S. imperialism has merely consolidated its direct control of a totally dependent colony in the heart of the Balkans.”

I am very well familiar with the region's history, and know what happened in 1999, and two years later in Macedonia.
Are you guys familiar with happened around the FRY during the early and mid 1990S?

I don't understand one thing, however:
How come Kosovo is Serbia's territory, yet the majority of the population is Albanian? How come there is a significant number of Albanians in the south-Eastern Serbia, Monte-negro, and Macedonia?
Give me a break!! Please. Borders have allways been decided by the major poers: London Conference, Berlin COngress, etc, etc.

P.S
I still find some commments to be comical.

You're not implying that Serbia was nice to Kosovo Albanians...and it "got stabbed in the back as a result" are you? If you sincerely believe that, then your idea of "being nice" is truly bizarre...or just comical.

As for the Macedonians...truth be told, the were coerced into getting along with their Albanians. While no sane person can claim that Macedonia was as difficult with the Albanians as Serbia was, it was still a far from perfect situation.

In any case, Kosovo is a separate country and it has a border issue with a neighbour...nothing surprising there.

Please read the following again...

"...Despite the existence of the agreement between Belgrade and Skopje, MACEDONIA has decided to activate the matter again with Priština, which could be the first step to Macedonia recognizing Kosovo’s unilateral declaration of independence."

Yes Ana you are right, those back-stabbing albanians,:

they never appreciated when Milosevic sent 1 million of them on camping holiday to visit the natural beauties of Albania and Macedonia in 1999...

they never appreciated when serb forces tried really hard to renovate their houses by using the same contemporary design style they perfected in Bosnia..

they never appreciated all the effort the serbs put in population control of albanians, and the only reason for mass graves was to make the most use of land and save the environment, because as we all know global warming is the biggest threat the human kind faces...

those backstabbing albanians never realised that Milosevic expelled them from work so they could spend more times with their families...

can you image after trying so hard to be nice to them, after all that effort and gestures of kindness, they still backstabbed us and demanded independence???!

Does not sound like backstabbing to me...

to Everybody:

Oh, it seems K-Albanians would love to have some more territory! Why am I not surprised?

And the poor Macedonians that are trying their best to be nice to the Albanians...what they still have to understand is that no matter how nice you are to them they appreciate it by stabing a knife in your back...

Regarding the Kosovo stand that Serbia was not alouded to do anything regarding the borders: what can I say except that obviously UNMIK did not think the same...

K-Albanias, I have the feeling you are trying to win a battle you have already lost in 2001! Never mind, it can be a boost for your politician's egos so they think they really have a goverment to run...

Ana:

tha article was published in 1987, and the sources came from the Serb officials.
History is well documented, and there are books published by non-biased, western historians.
I am not lying: I think you are poorly read. Now, I am not disagreeing at the entirety of that article, but at the context in which it was published. That article (that you linked) today would not stand the test of time.
Please, there are commemorations being held this month( and the next two) on the massacres committed during the War in kosovo. Thats a well documented history.

you are calling me a liar, but all you do is twist the facts, without taking into account the temporal aspects of your logic.

I can find you TONS of articles and presnet to you that make your article look like a joke. The web is full of them!!

Read a book not published in Serbia, or Kosovo.

We all know what happened in Kososvo in 1999...

Macedonia two years later:

http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/europe/1235601.stm

We all know what Macedonia did for the Albanians after the unrests...

Follow me now, we all know what Kosovo did the 17th of February this year. What happens in Macedonia?

Still find it comical?

Francis,

I found yours even more comical. Instead of giving a comment on the news you actually commented someone else’s post calling it comical. Well, comment yourself and let us see how comical you are. Guess some of us have enough capacity to be even comical which I couldn’t say the same for you.

How about talking to Belegrade and not the lawless Albanian-Serbs in Kosovo INSIDE of Serbia. Take care of your name problem with the Greeks. Don't turn your backs with Serbs. In the end you will have no friends. Open your opened eyes a little wider. The Albanians are taking advantage of you and will till the end.

Just read the link, NY times and even more impressive is the year 1987:

And then tell me about your innocence and the genocide Serbs...

1987!!! Remember well and please do not forget about 1981 as well...

If you want I can post that link too...

And you write here and you do not even blush when you lie!

Stevan

pre 16 godina

In case you haven't had the time to read about Jainism because you have been so bussy reading all the other world literature (except Serbian propaganda of course) I post you a link here so you can find out more about it...I thought most of the Jainists lived in India but I got it wrong, they are all in Kosovo and Albania.
http://www.hinduwebsite.com/jainism/jainindex.asp

Maybe I should just start reading only the Albanian ones and then we will probably agree...

This is a signal to FYROM authorities, give up some land to "Kosova" or else...

I think that "Kosova" albanians are not satisified until they get half of FYROM to join "Kosova"
