smile this information does not lack a point. It is a response to rhetoric being posted here, nothing more. Yes Oliver Ivanovic was a communist (I thought he was SPS actually but I believe you if you say he was JUL). But I wasn't the one going round claiming that Tadic was some kind of hero or anti communist fighter. In fact if you havent noticed I'm not interested in propoganda of that type, but I am quite interested in pointing out the stupidity of other who indulge in such ridiculous hero worship. They have the same mind set of Tito, then Milosevic supporters and I think some of them did in fact support Tito then Milosevic and now Kostunica or Seselj. Sad but true. Sad because the ideology of each was completely different. In other words people get obsessed with the cult of personality rather than policies.

Jeremic's father was in SPS, yeah its fine to point it out. Its not fine to claim that because one person in a family believes in one thing that the rest of the family is the same. We have progressed beyond tribal mentality.

As for you lecturing me, you can quit that right now. You supported DS when Ceda Jovanovic was there, knowing full well what he was like. Now you are whining about ldp policies. Take responsibility for your mistakes instead of blamimg everybody else.

'Kostunica opposed Tito but then accepted members of JUL in his party?'

again your comments lack a point. whats your point?
what do you call oliver ivanovic on tadic's list now? was he or was he not jul?
trajkovic, the resident expert for 'independent' media? jeremic, ex-sps jugend?
on the other hand kostunica is one of the founders of the democratic party, as was zoran djindjic.
but of course this is known to those of us who were ds faithful for many years and who are now DISGUSTED with tadic's politics and who will vote dss even if ds starts knocking on our doors with rifle buts distributing leaflets about doom unless Solana has his way in serbian elections.
as for you who supported god knows who and what in 90s but are now selling yourselves as some kinda righteous pioneers of democracy, maybe its time to show some plain respect. ldp extremism is extremely distasteful. and quit already speaking on behalf of the serbian nation or tell us who died and appointed you to do that.

Kostunica opposed Tito but then accepted members of JUL in his party?

The same Kostunica who was the only (kombi) party that received regular media coverage on Milosevic controlled RTS?

Mr noname don't try my patience with your cult of personality style hero worship - reminiscent of both Tito and Milosevic.

The Serbian people do not need newly created heroes.

bravo, Mr Tadic.
you've just reminded the whole Serbian electorate about the farcical 5 principles.

they are the same 5 principles that DS and DSS apparently squabbled about for months and months last year, putting aside other crucial matters that a government is supposed to deal with.

the reality was you were haggling over top managerial positions at public enterprises.

enough!

it's time for the LDP to be given some power and to finally put such corrupt practices into the past

Actual bganon it was Koštunica who opposed Tito and lost his job because of it. But I guess you wouldn't know that since you only hear what you like from DS goons. Tadic is digging his hole deeper by the day with his constant foreplay with the EU, people in Serbia are sick of it! Take your crumbs and go.

Mr Tadic, none of you and your mates will be around when the moment comes for the EU membership in 20 years time. Stop lying to your own people.

It would be nice if those 5 principles could be listed as some people probably don't know what they are supposed to be:

Preservation of Kosovo.
EU integration.
Resolution of Hague process / co-operation.
Reduction of unemployment.
Battle against corruption.

These principles are the ones the outgoing government signed up to.

Actually Michael, Milovan Djilas spent more of his life opposing Tito than being allied to him. He was one of Serbia's / Yugoslavia's best known dissidents and spent a number of years in prison for not following the party line.

I'd also disagree that the communist elite own and control much of Serbia - although there are certain elements of JUL that have moved to DSS, which is true enough.

On the other hand there is something unlikable about Dragan Djilas. Lack of charisma for sure but there is a certain coldness.

“Speaking of possible candidates for a future prime minister, Tadić said that he would be proposing the person in question …”

In the event that the Democratic Party form the next government, then the new Prime Minister is already known: Dragan Djilas, the grandson of Tito’s right-hand man, Milovan Djilas, and the choice of the Communist elite who now own and control much in Serbia.

President Tadic, if you were a stronger President and had more principles I wouldn't be thinking with fear of the elections results a month in advance...

If you loose the elections the 11 of May it will be only your fault and that's it...

Because of your weak possition DS is loosing some of the most devoted voters it ever had. Try to keep the ones that are still here...
