Germany has rightly said it will oppose any attempts at extending NATO membership to Ukraine and Georgia. No one is raising concern over extending membership into the Balkans. On the other hand, no one other than Bush is foolish enough to realize the repercussions of offering NATO membership so close to Russia.

From a political point no problem for Albania at Brussels headquarter have liked the engagement in Afghanistan but the report that has been leaked from the military say yust the opposite ..Albania needs more time to make his army efficient to the Nato standard so we will see who prevails..

It is simply amazing that certain European Countries are so desperate to join NATO. Is the prospect of sending your sons and daughters to fight in NATO/US Wars irresistible? And die they shall for NATO needs to fill the ranks, and the poor countries desperate enough for any assistance are the obvious choice...and target

Luigi, Albania will join NATO. There are no "troubles", Albania in NATO is a DONE DEAL.

OK Ana no more words in Russian i will try with the Serbian..By the way Sunday editorial of foreign affairs for one of the most read italian newspaper suggest that EU has lost Serbia (forever o temporary? )...to Russia and we have to face this reality !
