"Partition just, but doesn't solve minority problem"

John Bolton was a failure at the UN confirmation process held by the US Congress. Now here he is peddling what little influence/credibility he might have by accepting tainted money from the Serb lobbyist to promote their failing Greater Serbia scheme.I suppose he is trying to get back at the Administration for letting him go.By doing that, Bolton does have similiar Serb characteristics of revenge and "inat".Let's not forget both are failures and all the money/lobbist in the world wouldn't change that. This former diplomat is trying to recycle his career as a paid Serb voice.Too bad no one is listening.

Bmrusila,

You can elect whichever you like in the Serbian coming election but it would be unforgivable to say ".....we did not know that it was so bad"
Good luck in electing Kostunica!

John Bolton is the only american diplomat who is not smoking dope. The reason why bush threw him under the bus is because Bolton wanted to crack down on so-called "muslim allies" like Pakistan and Saudi Arabia who are either doing nothing about or actually assisting al-qaida terrorists. Bolton also wanted to make realistic deals with Russia and China to get them to assist in the war on terrorism.

"Justice would have been if Kosovo was still part of Serbia...but there is no justice at all in today's world.."

How on earth it is just to ethnically cleanse one million people and for those same people to be under the sovereignty of the same state that ethnically cleansed them in the first place. Lets make it a little more personal Ana. Your neighbor comes to your home sets it on fire and through the use of guns forces you to leave the city. Now through your notion of justice, not only your neighbor is not prosecuted for the crime inflicted to you, but he is given your home as a reward. That is your justice. You wouldn't want that to happen to you would you. Well, Serbia was the neighbor and us Albanians were thrown out and our houses torched. We will not ever allow for your kind of justice to be implemented.

no Ana,

no partition. it´s serbian territory, all of it.

don´t even think of partition, since that would be a success for the greater-albanian criminals of the socalled uck-bandits.

It is amazing how we always hear the common sense comming out from all the EX officials. Except the ex officials of the Clinton camp because they still have the hope they will be present officials again with the female Clinton this time...

Justice would have been if Kosovo was still part of Serbia...but there is no justice at all in today's world...

So yes, partition should be an option. And maybe the best...We should take care of our people that live in Kosovo...

But we do have to be honest and ask ourselvs do we want the Albanians back as well? It is more than obvious they do not want us... Do we want back 2 million people that do not like us and that will always have enemie feelings towards us? I don't want that back...

And considering their birth rate I am sure I will never want Tachi to become Serbias PM one day...if he does not end in The Hague that is...where he should be at the moment and were he belongs...and I'm sure in this matter, justice will prevail...

Just a little background on John Bolton:
As Ambassador to the U.N. Bolton held several positions on foreign affairs that were opposite of Bush. When it came time for him to be confirmed the Democrats said they would never vote for him to continue as U.N. Ambassador. Not because they didn't like his positions but because they saw it as a way to stick it to Bush. And Bush wanting to get rid of Bolton did not put up a fight to get him confirmed.

You may not like or agree with some things Bolton said but he has been steadfast in his opposition to recognizing the independence of Kosovo. He has said repeatedly it was a major mistake by Bush and will only lead to problems around the world. And he also said the U.S. should try to improve our relationship with Serbia who he considers a friend and ally.

I may not always agree with some of Bolton's positions but I do think he is the best U.N. Ambassador we have had in a long time. If Bush doesn't like him you know he must be doing something right.

John Bolton did not need to take a public stand against the theft of Kosovo. But we Serbs do need to applaud him for having done so. As for his thoughts on how Serbs should vote, I think that even Bolton himself would be voting for the Radical Party in this election if could and if he were to let his views on Kosovo inform his behavior at the ballot box. I presume he is merely paying lip service to the U.S. stand in favor of Tadic to make things easier for U.S. interaction with Serbia. We cannot expect him to do more.
However, for us, the surest way to develop the pressure needed to overcome this challenge to Serbian sovereignty and our national identity is to banish Tadic and his DS to the opposition benches for at least five years. Their forked-tongue schizophrenia on the EU-Kosovo linkage reveals either a naivete bordering on criminal negligence, or a duplicitous conspiracy to deceive the Serbian public false promises of a big bribe in the form of EU loot. Either way, they are not fit for government. Bolton's stand on Kosovo as a U.S. ex official has been at least twice as forceful as that of Tadic, who appears to be more of a prima ballerina on this issue than a firm defender of the Serbian interest.
Shame on Tadic and shame on all those who cover for his lame performance.
It's time for Serbia to get up off its knees! To quote the title of Bolton's book, "Surrender is not an option".

Mr Bolton, no one wants partition and no one is proposing that type of partition that you are referring to. There is difference between physical partition and functional one. All we want is to let Serbs run their own institutions and those institutions would be established in those areas inhabited by the overwhelming Serbian majority. Mr Bolton try just to imagine two functional systems within one province, that explains everything and all Serbs will be protected by Belgrade. Btw, spare us of your opinion on future elections and how and who Serbs should vote.

This is one strange man. Even his own party sort of got scared of him and removed him from the UN as an ambassador. Although he seems to have some good points in this piece, he contradicts himself with some statements. I don't even know why he is speaking on the issue any longer. Nobody is really paying attention to him in the US any longer.

“I didn’t understand why Washington recognized Kosovo independence so hurriedly… That issue could have been the subject of further negotiations, while the U.S. and Russia settle bilateral matters,” he said.

It seems to me that the ambassador has been not living in this planet and he has been in the wrong job.

Hasn't he followed the taks led by President Ahtisari and Troika? The parties positions were very clear when it came to Kosova's status. Serbs wanted to Kosova to remain part of Serbia and the Kosovar's Albanians wanted to be fully independent from Serbian. I hope the ambassador will remember the history of the conflict before coming to the conclusion that decision was "hurried".
