As for American-Serbs voting for the next president, it is choosing the lesser of 3 evils from:

1. A power hungry, self-glorifying, anti-serb policy follower.

2. A follower is Islam and sympathetic to their cause.

3. A war-mongerer intent on world dominance and appeasing islamic extremist.

Which will you choose?

Glad I don't have to make that choice.

A US Rebulican; What might of happened during WW2 has nothing to do with now.Serbs can claim to have saved the entire world for what any one would care, but that is no excuse for Greater Serbia's ethnic cleansing of none Serbs in the former Yugoslavian units during the 1990's.If the loyal and respectable Serbs were traditional allies to all the non-Serbs in Yugoslavia, then that country would of still be in existance. Thanks to our "loyal and traditional ally, the Serbs" , the entire country disintegrated. Out of fear of the Serbs and their monopolizing political power by illegaly and unconsitutionaly revoking Kosova and Vojvodina's autonomous status. With Montenegro playing along with these destructive actions. The end result is well known.

Dear Mr. President. Your father was a pilot during WWII. He, or maybe his comrads, may have been one or more of the 500 rescued by the Serbian people. Those same Serbian people that Churchill sold out and cast into Communism. And this is how we repay them? You sir, are not looking after the interests of your nation. Serbia was a loyal ally in two World Wars and kept many Nazi divisions from participating in the Normandy invasion, while those you protect and support today, sent their own SS divisions (Skenderbeg, Handjar & Black Legion) to the Eastern Front so to free up the Nazis for Normandy.

We have many problems here at home Mr. President. The economy, is not what you say it is. Americans are losing jobs every day to low cost workers and our dollar is weakening by the day. Let our traditional ally, the Serbs worry about Kosovo and lets fix the stuff we need fixin' here.

How can Serbs be a minority in its own country? It is the albanians that are minority in Serbia, not vice versa Mr Bush! Kosovo is still Serbian according to all international documents.

How come Serbian borders can change but not Croatian or Bosnian borders??? No borders can change except those of Serbia, who are you trying to fool? Banditer commision recommendations destroyed Yugoslavia but Banditer said the six republics of Yugoslavia should be respected and its borders should remain intact and that minorities had no right to its own territory in those republics. How come that it has suddenly changed when it comes to Serbia? Now Albanians can have their own country even though they already have one called Albania. Then Serbs have the right to its own country in Bosnia and in Croatia.

Stop it with this illegal war of 1840, first and formost there is no such a thing as legal war.

So please do not go back reading wikipedia and coming back with some words here complaining about Texas.

USA is a stolen land from Indians, so is rest of Europe from each other. As well Serbs come from Carpet mountains in Russia so in once long time ago they must have stolen this land from someone or it was just empty.

To all of you who think that USA will change the stance once USA has a new president good Luck, If Republicans win they support Kosovo independence, so if Democrats win is due to Clinton not Obama. So since they forced 35 countries so far they will force you as well as soon as Mr. Tadic WINS the May 11th elections.

USA and EU will through you some non visa presents and some cash and you will some how except it same way you did Croatia, Slovenia, Bosnia, Macedonia, Montenegro and Kosovo don’t you see no one likes to live as second class citizen.

Wish you the best.

Bush is at least an equal opportunity evildoer(to use a term he coined). 7+ years after he took (some would say stole) the presidency he ruined US economy, millions of Americans homeless or just about to become through foreclosures, made Spanish first language in many parts of the country and Americans a minority on their own land. Destroyed 2 countries, made enemies out of friends, and friends of number of enemies, completely marginalized his own political party rendering it unelectable, treated good people badly and appeased bad people, but through it all he managed to keep up believing that everything is OK. For a man claiming to be so "devout to God" he sure does not respect or fear him, one must wander which God he is praying to.

Penjack, USA

pre 16 godina

How the U.S. will encourage, pressure, force Serbia to help Kosovo secede was revealed in a speech Bush delivered in Dayton, Ohio March 27, 2008. In that speech Bush defined what he considers a sign of success and achieving normalcy:

"I talked to General Odierno -- he's the number two man in Iraq. He just came back after courageously serving our country, and he came to the Oval Office, and here's what he told me. He said, he flew over Baghdad 15 months ago and he couldn't see a single soccer game. On his final flight last month, he counted more than 180. Now, that may sound normal to us and we take it for granted, but it is a sign that the surge is working and civil society is beginning to grow. It is a sign normalcy is returning back to Iraq."

So we can safely assume that very soon U.S. warplanes will fly over Serbia and drop soccer balls instead of bombs. This will speed up the move towards acceptance and normalcy regarding Kosovo independence.

Hopefully in the future when someone fly's over Belgrade they will be able to count more than 180 soccer games.

Absolute insanity!

"I hope the Serbian government will realize that the Serbs in Kosovo are treated with respect as a minority..."
This statement from cowbowy George says it all. He is so clueless, he probably thinks Kosovo is somewhere in Africa.
This statement is so insulting to the Serbs in Kosovo living behind barbed wire, needing military escorts to get groceries or go for a walk, afraid to speak their own language for fear of getting assaulted or killed. The Kosovo Serbs have ZERO human rights and are treated worse than animals. Bush probably has no clue that albanians torched 156 churches, some of them UNESCO heritage sites. He has been fed too much anti-Serb lies and propoganda from the likes of Nicholas Burns.
A few days ago we had Hillary Clinton shamelessly lie about dodging sniper fire in 1996 in Bosnia, and now we have this ignorant cowboy say that the Serbs in Kosovo are treated with 'respect as a minority'. With leadership this whacked, this clueless, this dishonest, the US is definitely headed for disaster. We are witnessing the decline of the American empire.

Bush has no respect for International Law and may very well be the worst President the U.S. has ever had, so far. Not known to be a real thinker, he once again shows his true colors.

Intelligence would require that he recognize that Policies must be consistent and apply universially. If he really believed that monoethnic self determination really is a good policy, he would be giving the Kurds Iraq's oil fields in the North and the Shi'ites Iraqa oil fields in the South along with borders for each and with giving out a second monoethnic Albanian country. He's not not intelligent enough to see the lack of logic in his own policy.

Bush has also forgotten to remind all the Albanians to stop causing trouble in neighbouring countries.

I realize that he's not very bright and he often says stupid things. But I do find it strange and odd that he should suggest Serbia help Kosovo secede. Hmmmm I already thought it was independent? Isn't it a done deal? Why is he now saying that Serbia should help it secede as if it hasn't already? I find this statement to be rather interesting. Perhaps Bush has realized that without a UN vote, and without Serbia's approval, Kosovo cannot really be independent.

Think about it and read what he said, especially the last quote. Very interesting.

ZK UK

Since Bush is just about to depart, the sooner the next administration realises the status quo is unsustainable and that negotiations for a final status (agreeable to all) is found, tension will continue in Kosovo.

Kosovo will never be independent. The sooner everyone realises that the better. It is the US blocking progress here for its own selfish wants while the Albanians are just loyal servants.

Bush hoping "Serbia will help Kosovo secede" is about as likely as America "helping Texas secede", either as an independent state or back into Mexico. It simply amazes me when I read Bush comments...Is he talking about the same peace his international politics have brought to Iraq and Afghanistan?

Does Bush even know where Kosovo is? I doubt it...

A man that is President and has been a son of another US president, and has been brought up in an enviroment of everything that money can buy (considering the wealth of his family) never before he became President had an interest of traveling outside the US...and only once went to Mexico (probably thinking it is another US state)...

And this man is talking now about how the Serbs are a respected minority in Kosovo?

Yes, indeed, they are very respected:

1. while we are reading this news Serbs in Kosovo don't have medicine

2. at the same time, it seems they don't even have the essential hygene necessities

3. they can't stroll down the street and a have a walk on the fresh air. Well they can, with KFOR forces behind them. It must be very relaxing for them...

4. They can't go to their churches, that is the ones that have survived the demolition http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W4c9b5OdgHo

5. a bit of Italian propaganda, probably paid by the Serbs: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5v3TThXVHrM

6. And to expect the Serbs to accept the criminal goverment in Kosovo, now that is a dream for you Mr. Bush and a nightmare for the minorities...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3Nbxdpzqvdk

So Mr. Bush, I would strongly advice you to find out what is going on in the world before you make any statements...

It won't do you any harm!

Similar things that we have seen here were done by Serbs as well and your reward was givin Albanians a country...

But you honestly expect the Serbs to accept it and live in the same country with the ones that have commited crimes against them as well?

That's stupidity and the worst of double standards policy...

Dream on Mr. Bush...

George W. Bush must impose economic and political sanctions on Serbia until it recognizes Kosova's independence. As long as Serbians vote and support the Radical party, then obviously, the Greater Serbia ideology and its threat to regional and global stability is very clear. The danger is still their, America, the EU and NATO must eliminate it.God bless Kosova and all our supports.

Dear Mr.

Bush...

Bush hoping "Serbia will help Kosovo secede" is about as likely as America "helping Texas secede", either as an independent state or back into Mexico. I want to give my leader the benefit of the doubt sometimes, but it's amazing what this man will say when presented with an official looking piece of paper with the intructions "read this" on it.

Mr Bush,
is wrong in stating that
""represented the last chapter in the break-up of the former Yugoslavia and an end to a very difficult period".
Kosovo is only the introduction of what is yet to come and there are many more chapters outstanding. Bush neglected to mention his supoort for the Serbs wishing to succeed from Bosnia.
Bush has also forgotten to remind all the Albanians to stop causing trouble in neighbouring countries.

I am glad he still does not consider the matter closed. Check the title, it means that Kosovo has not seceded yet. Serbia will never help Kosovo secede, it will fight for it by all legal means and prove that the US is violating international law.
