Another Canadian Serb, I'm in Canada as well. More specifically Mississauga.

Believe you me, i know my way around cars, and the only way, is to go out of your way to avoid VW ownership.

They should go FAW. China is the future economy and world leader. The arms plant should not be part of the sale. It's needed until things settle.

I am disappointed that Toyota is not included on the list. Its now the worlds largest automobile manufacturer with the worlds most reliable cars. VW is not bad I suppose, better than Fiat anyway.

Hey Luigi,
i thought you made your position very clear, in that you and Italy were not interested in conducting business with Serbia.
Why the sudden change of heart?

Too bad. Too bad that a car company with real cars, and reliable product doesnt take interest in Zastava..but instead we're forced to deal with VW.

The company that cant seem to get the simplest of things to stay working..ie..tail lights on anything after 1986, power windows on anything after 1995, and clutches/differentials and anything that basically shouldnt fail on a car on a monthly basis.

Recently Porsche said they would buy a controlling stake in VW, sad..i used to love Porsche until that day, the only way they will get my respect again is to buy VW, fire everyone, burn every plant to the ground, sell every piece of machinery and wipe VW's name off the face of the earth, because as i see it, VW makes some of the WORST cars in the world.

The only difference between people in Eastern Europe or the Balkans, is that they're used to the standard of "Yugo" and "Lada", which when compared to a VW, makes the Golf and Jetta look like a Lexus.

German cars (with the exception of Porsche) are overrated.

I don't really understand luigi's post, but it is not surprising; it is my position that one of us is a moron.

Now about this VW deal, are they interested in the Automobile part of the business or are they interested in both the automobile and Arms manufacturing business. I really hope the government does not plan to privitize the arms manufacturing portion of the business, it would be unwise to do so in this economic climate.

What a wonderful opportunity this is for Zastava and the people who work there. I much prefer german design and engineering than their Italian coutnerparts. Don't get me wrong I love Italian shoes and clothes but only drive german built cars!
