Joining the Eu means the following:
1. Becoming part of the German and French colonies of Europe
2. Complying with French abd German foreign policy
3. Having virtually no say in running your country.
4. Accepting the Euro as currency
By then you have sold your country to the great colonial powers without a war.
Just look at all small countries who have joined the EU - only the british know how to protect themselves.

"Balkan EU integration could be derailed" - now that would be nice and hopefully the first step towards EU disintegration. For those of you who don't know what to think about the EU, perhaps some insight would be useful about our experience in Romania:

We made countless sacrifices to join the EU, mainly economic concessions to Western companies. Just few examples here for lack of space:

- the forced 'privatisation' of the national oil company at a nil price (including the oil and gas resources of the country) to address the Austrians' objections.

- award of all telecom licences to 'european' companies (guess where the profits are going)

- award of the Transylvania motorway contract to Bechtel - an American company, years ago: to date, the price has been ever increasing, not one meter of motorway has been delivered and is officially the most expensive motorway in the world (per km).

- the gas distribuiton has been sold to 'european' companies, which combined with the sale of our national resources results in the highest price in Europe that we - one of the poorest people in Europe - have to pay.

Joining NATO: Romania participates in expensive missions in Afghanistan and Iraq (that we shouldn't really afford). Three days ago one of ours died in a roadside bomb blast in Afghanistan. He went there hoping to make 15000 Euro in six months, to save in order to buy an apartment. Many others are still there - for the same reason. In other words, they need you, they need cannon meat.

Now we are both in NATO and the EU. We pay to the EU funds more than we get, we are officially a net contributor, you see, because - they say - we don't have the capacity to absorb the funds that would otherwise be available to us. But this is just the official contribution to the EU, in fact they extract far more value from Romania through the companies which they run. In fact, I don't think there is any significant economic sector left in Romania, which is not controlled by their companies: this is the goal of the so-called 'privatisation'.

Well, everyone is entitled to make their own choice, just ensure you make an informed choice... The problem is, if you don't join them, they will constantly harass you with imaginary problems (like human rights and democracy) and by all means - including economic sanctions - prevent the development of your country. It's all based on blackmail and threats.

There are only two things that you get in exchange: the right to travel visa free and the right to bark at the moon, which is why I can write this message today.
