Kosovo belongs to the US, they have illegally carved out a Nato Colony for itself not Albanians for one reason - Camp Bondsteel.

It amazes me the ignorance of Albanians here who ignore this basic fact - it is the biggest military base in the world today and Dick Cheney's self interest - Haleburton, was given the contract to build this interestingly enough after the bombing of Serbia.

Although like many in the UK believe Kosovo is part of Serbia i must agree there is not alot Serbia can do. Russia is full of words but no action, have they modernised the Serb miltary? Why no troops in Serbia? The USA has its own agenda, they are using Kosovo to prove to the muslim world that thay are not crusading against Islamic states. Kosovo Albians will be left high and dry when the US has no use for them, don't forget they supported Saddam once and Taliban type forces fighting the Soviets in the Afgan war.The last thing the US want is a Balkan conflict as thay have desires on Iran, sorry you have no oil.

Mr. Kostunica, If someone has to believe you, than that someone also has to admit that you don't stand a chance against NATO. So either way you and your nationalist clan has lost.

NATO bombed Serbia to prevent Serbian forces from killing innocent people in Kosovo. Because this was what Milosevic was doing on behalf of fighting KLA. Albanians in Kosovo have lost any trust in Serbia. Kosovo belongs neither to NATO, nor to Serbia. But, as long as Serbia does not get rid of irrational politicians like Kostunica&Co, NATO should be there to make sure that both sides are safe. Serbia is going to have new leaders soon that will know the way to go. Kosovo and Serbia are going to live in a long lasting peace and they are to be joined in EU soon .

Kostunica says it the way it is and if truth hurts too bad.

NATO bombed precisely to create another state for the US and itself to govern and exploit. Serbs are sick of being exploited and singled out as the bad guys.

History will paint NATO and the US and their lackies very dark indeed. History is written by the winners and as long as the US has the upper hand they will be able to wash themselves clean, but one day when the mighty US falls, and it will, the truth will come out.

Is this the legacy they want to leave for their grand children? If it is, then American administration has no regard for their own people either so how can Serbia expect anything better.

there is no need look down on other people or assume that because a powerful institution/organization operates in the country of your residence you have to be their slave. The very fact that you assume that Miri should be polishing Nato solders shoes confirms the very reason Kosova is independent today and there is nothing you can do to change that apart from resorting to what you know best, that is insulting other people because their views differ from yours.

With regards to Kostunica's comments ' no comments' his intentions are clear therefore merit no attention. I leave that to the Serbian people which i believe have seen true colors of Mr Kostunica and his attempts to cling on to the power at all costs.

ICR=INTERNATIONAL CIVILLAN REPRESENTATIVE
ESDP=EUROPEAN SECURITY AND DEFENCE POLICY MISSION
IMP=INTERNATIQNAL MILITARY PRESENCE

The main point that Kostunica was driving at is that there is no civilian oversight over the IMP/NATO and the only civilian oversight talked about in the document is that over the Kosovo's civilian institutions:

(14.5) The IMP shall have overall responsibility for the development and training of the Kosovo Security Force, and NATO shall have overall responsibility for the development and establishment of a civilian-led organization of the Government to exercise civilian control over this Force..." (X 2.4) "The ICR shall supervise the development of Kosovo's civilian institutions including civilian control over its security institutions..."

Notice that: only (IX 5.2) "The mandate of the ICR shall be terminated" while (XI 1.7) "In the longer term, the IMP will remain engaged" and (XI 2.1) "The Head of the IMP is the final authority in theatre regarding interpretation of those aspects of the Settlement that refer to the IMP. and (XI 1.8) "The IMP will operate under the authority and be subject to the direction and political control of the North Atlantic Council through the NATO Chain of Command." while (X 2.1) "The Head of the ESDP Mission shall be appointed by the Council of the European Union." noting that (IX 2.3) "The powers and authorities of the ICR and the powers and authorities of the EUSR shall be vested in the same person."
