Hi Sonja Biserko :waves:! My name is reality, let me introduce you to my friends : 250,000 IDPs pushed out of there homes after an internationally mandated peace keeping force. With hundreds of Churches tourched, countless homes and graveyards destroyed, and with another 2000 or so missing or dead I wonder why the Serbs have an "entrenched mentality".

If you ever had to guard little Serb kids from Strpce, Klokot, Vitina, Kamenica, Vrbvoac, or Binac for a field trip to the Patriarchy at Pec and Visoki Decani, you'll figure out why.

Next time Sonja Biserko comes around let's let her sit down for some rakija with earth . ..

I am neither Serbian nor Albanian and therefore have no interest in Kosovo personally, but I would just like to point out to Peter of Sydney, you are a brilliant poster.

Well thought out, logical, factual and intelligent postings. I truly enjoy reading your commentary.

""The Serb enclaves in Kosovo are guarded by international forces in the province in order to prevent outbreaks of ethnically-motivated violence against them by Kosovo's Albanians. "

The Serbs attacked Biserko and these days these PLS (peace loving serbs) are armed to the teeth and hurling bombs, rocks, and anything in their possession. The only attacks going on are Serbs towards UN/KFOR.

My what a selective memory you have. Do you really expect people to believe that K-albanians can 'change their spots' at the drop of a hat?

Let me refresh your obviously defective recollection of events.

Ever since the civil war in Kosovo ended & KFOR moved in to 'secure the peace', K-albanians have been consistently attacking & killing serbs, razing, blowing up & torching their churches & driving them out of the province. These are facts & these things have happened recently - ie: in the last 8 years.

If you deny this, then you are a liar.

The 'serb attacks' you refer to comprise 2 incidents.

The first was a riot that occurred in Kosovska Mitrovica on the 17th of this month when an UNMIK raid to arrest serb protesters went pear-shaped. It is the opinion of many including the local UNMIK chief that the purpose of this raid was to provoke the riot that ensued. He latter resigned stating that he could no longer work with his superiors in Pristina.

The second was an incident in which Biserko was pelted with eggs & stones by the very serbs she says she is trying to help 'integrate' into the so-called 'republic of Kosovo'. Seems they don't agree with her.

As you seem to believe otherwise, I invite you to answer the questions I raised in a previous post. Here is the link:

My post is #25. The questions are the ones I asked of 'Ben'.

You won't of course provide the answers as your only goal is to spread propaganda, & not to engage in a serious debate.

Nothing but 'hot air'.

As you appear to believe in the veracity of Biserko & the 'helsinki comittee', then maybe you can answer these questions:

Why has this woman not condemned NATO for the civilian deaths in the bombing campaign?

Why does the "Helsinki Committee for Human Rights" in Serbia consistently overestimate the death toll in places like Bosnia during the 1990's?

Why does it underestimate the death toll from the civilian bombings?

Why hasn't it's parent group the 'Human Rights Watch" condemned the US for it's rendition program & the use of torture techniques such as 'water-boarding'?

Why does 'Human Rights Watch' consistently underestimate the death toll of civilians in Iraq?

And why has Biserko come out in support of UNMIK when the evidence indicates that UNMIK deliberately tried to provoke a riot?

..."help the Serbs overcome their dug-in position"???

What she has to realise is that these Serbs so far, can only look towards Belgrade for help as the rest of the world as failed to protect them! Who wouldn't be dug in!!!?
No amount of rhetoric is going to change that. Firstly i suggest she go to Pristina and ask the thaci and his puppet regime what they have done to integrate these people and what considerations have they given to support their rights as human beings? I'm sure she'll find lots of empty promises all penned by the US UNMIK and the EU!

god bless our friend and ally sonia biserko, who is among the best that comes from serbia, and who always opens her door in friendship and assistance when my partner and i visit belgrade. she is not a lackey for the CIA, despite the endless accusations and threats against her; it is mere fabrication by the extremists.

She, Borka and others may have come under attack in the "enclaves," but those are not spontaneous attacks by any stretch of the imagination.

if these human rights pioneers survived the milosevic horrors, they can and will survive the present regime, as well.

i do hope that b92 continues to carry reports from the helsinki committee, in the spirit of democracy and ongoing dialogue.
