FACT:America is not the benevolent, democratic, free and just force it was once thought of as being.
FACT:Russia has only helped Srbija when it benefited them to do so and we will not get much help from them.
FACT:Good does not seem to alwys win.Evil is dominating the planet.
FACT:As peak oil hits the EU harder and harder it will work closer with America to drive east and secure Caspian/Middle east oil further inflaming the the Islamic world and bringing confrontation with China/Russia closer everyday until there will be more regional conflict and then all out war.The US is following a policy of confrontation as outlined in the PNAC (Project for the new american century) manifesto. And this policy will not change with a new person in the white house.
These people look at humanity as a bunch of cattle and I am sorry to say but Srbija just set the precident for later action just as Jugoslavia set the precident for Iraq A-stan.

It is sad that no one seems to be knowing what this man (Munter) says. You see his name and you think immediately you know what he is saying. Maybe you should read what he is saying and be thinking about it. I am not a Serbian but I don't think he is an enemy of the Serbian people.

The reason for the U.S. threats and then the false kissing up to Serbia by the U.S. Ambassador is because the U.S. State Department is in a panic mode. The Greater Albanian Grand Ayatollah Bush's Fatwa that all nations must kneel in his presence and recognize Kosovo is a dismal failure. News here in the U.S. estimates that no more than 50 countries will recognize Kosovo's independence. This is about one-third of the U.N. nations and far short of the majority votes required to formally recognize Kosovo as a new country. So the reality is that Serbian Kosovo will never become Albanian Kosova. It just will never happen.

Also news here also reports the U.S. military is stretched to the limits fighting the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. If problems arise in Kosovo the U.S. military will not be able to intervene on a large scale. We have drained our reserves and National Guard forces fighting these two wars. Hence the reason for the U.S. putting tremendous pressure on NATO to supply more troops to the Afghan war. NATO is a group of spineless cowards as evidenced by their failure to commit significant forces to Afghanistan. The small and insignificant NATO forces that are in Afghanistan are all located in safe havens far away from the action. NATO is perfectly happy to let American and British troops fight the battles and suffer casualties.

You will never see NATO troops from Europe willing to fight in Kosovo. If a crisis arises in Kosovo NATO's response will be bombing from 20,000 feet and cruise missiles. American troops at Camp Bondsteel (the largest U.S. base outside the U.S.) are there to exclusively provide security for Halliburton and to protect the completion of an oil pipeline.

Russia is in the drivers seat regarding the future of Serbia and Kosovo. The world is watching to see if Russia can salvage the international mess created by Bush. Russia's credibility as a major player on the world stage is at stake. Now we just have to wait and see what develops in the weeks and months ahead.

Serbia should cut all ties with the U.S and tell them to pack up their embassy and leave, with friends like that who needs enemies.
(Ivan, 23 March 2008 07:23)

There are countless Serbs and Russians working in the States. Some have companies and business in Serbia as "Americans" - even if they technically are not. Serbs buy "American" technology developed by their countrymen, Russians, Chinese, Taiwanese. Many Serbs want to visit USA because they have relatives. Some have business there which helps Serbia to move with the technology forward. At some point you need your technology, at some point American, at some point Russian or Chinese - whichever works better out.

Cutting ties with the U.S. was tried and failed. In today's world you never know, what connection is coming from where. Don't burn the bridges, just guard them well. :)

hey juergen,
first it was us standard education for all, now this:)
do you ever run out of your psy ops jokes, juergen :) how you like this one: 'life is more important than territory' :)) i've counted two ds guys 'spontaneously' say it in two days. expect more. i hope tadic will say it too as he tenders in his resignation because he and his shamelessly violated the constitution he took an oath on. when i was a kid, a teenager, an excellent teacher told me about one episode from the 70s student protests, when broz tricked those protesters to give in and up in a number of ways but also made one remark that generations of our poor, martyr-almost dissidents repeated, teaching others what not to do. broz said, well, we wont cling to the law with all we're worth now, will we, you know, 'ko pijan plota'. well: we must. we absolutely must. broz the communist dictator was wrong. eu the bully monster is wrong. pitbull is wrong. serbia must be ruled by law. constitution is the highest act that must be respected by elected officials with no attempt of third world style relativization and interpretation. parties that promote lawlessness are the enemies of this nation. i am a firm believer in democracy and rule of law.
and see further than my own nose, and i see my country ripped apart, which is worse than it ever was under milosevic. i don't want to come across rude, but read my lips juergen: this is worse than it ever was under milosevic. and it was very, very bad under milosevic. many people in many places talk about red lines these days. i have my own too. i am a fairly practical and pragmatic person, also a hard worker, who enjoys all the worldly joys, but someone has stepped across my flaming red line, called kosovo, called serbia, because yes, kosovo is serbia, and all this made me a better serb. i thank them all. and i fight them all as best i know how.

The US ambassadors are never speaking for themselves but what their government tells them. In fact, the speech is desperate because USA has lost Serbia totally and for ever by giving statehood to Kosovo. Kosovo is never going to produce money to USA and Serbia will reduce in due time all economic connections with USA whatever government comes in May or after. Serbia has given its oil companies to Russia, has signed a contract for one of the three most important pipelines in the world from which strategy America was excluded by Russia, which means in actual fact that America has lost war in the Balkans.

We all know the old good cop/bad cop routine but this guy Munter has both personalities rolled into one. Twice in recent days he actually threatened Serbia and now he declares that the country is a "key ally". Is he schizophrenic or is he playing a dangerously manipulative game.

Whatever he's at, I wouldn't trust him as far as I'd throw him.

JohnBoy

I don't agree with comments like the Serbs should be patient with the us because its current administration is somewhat mentally challenged. Munter should be escorted out of Serbia and the us embassy should be closed. In deference to those misguided Serbs who believe eu lies about Serbia joining the eu, Serbia does not have to retaliate against eu countries. However, Serbia should single out and pick on all us interests inside Serbia because the us has been illogically punishing the Serbs for the last 20 years. Serbia does not need to be friendly with america and should set an example for the rest of the world that is fed up with american dictatorship. This reckless behavior by the us is the only reason why the us becomes hysterical and reacts violently when any country in the world tries to obtain nuclear technology. The us behaves like a criminal who knows that he will be severely punished someday and is trying to delay that day as long as possible.

We understand that The United States does not need Serbia for anything, but what is the price that Serbs pay for their continued relationship with the United States? What would happen if the Serbian Authorities said "If you arm Kosovo, we will close diplomatic channels" What would be the price for humiliating the worlds most wealthy and powerful country. How would they react?

Americans (especially politicians) are great at this; whispering sweet, warm & fuzzy words into your ear while twisting that knife deeper & deeper.

It is clear that the American government is preparing to call the May elections unfree & unfair if/when their hand picked candidates don’t win.

Most Americans don't believe their own government, why should you?

Nicholas Klinsman

pre 16 godina

We all know what the U.S. govt is about these days. Just so everybody understands the current U.S. administration would betray Americans just as quick as they have betrayed Serbia. Thus, I ask Serbs to understand that it's not personal.

We can just at look what the U.S has done with the industrial jobs, immigration, and oil prices in the U.S. to see what they've done to Americans. Here's a country that says it's fighting terror, but their key allies are Saudi Arabia and Pakistan which export more terrorist resources than any other countries in the world. Americans are driving themselves crazy with this hypocracy as well.

However, whether we like it or not, we know about the American power or else Serbs wouldn't have agreed to letting them in Kosovo in the first place. We have to respect that power. This is not the time for the Charge of the Light Brigade.

Let's not work angrily let's work smartly. In the end, Serbia's success will be more about what we do for ourselves and not what others like the U.S. do for Serbs. If the Americans finally wake up and want to be allies with Serbs lets not stop them.

It is not the role of an ambassador to meddle in the elections of a sovereign state. Cameron Munter has evidently been assigned to try to bring about the desires of the US State Department in Serbia. He has strongly supported the illegal secession of Kosovo and apparently sees Tadic's Democratic Party as the best vehicle to use in achieving Kosovo's permanent separation. It would be good if the withdrawal of Serbia's ambassador from Washington resulted in Munter's parallel withdrawal from Belgrade. Let the Serbs decide their destiny for themselves.

First and foremost the headline of this article is laughable but what is more so, is this passage:

Speaking about the White House document approving a delivery of arms to Priština, Munter repeated that it “represents part of a process through which the U.S. allows the Republic of Kosovo to enjoy the same benefits that Serbia has at its disposal.”

Kosovo is not a state. Of course it cannot enjoy the benefits a real state like Serbia (such as a national army).

US believes that if it feeds a lie enough number of times it will suddenly appear to be the truth. It's interesting how we no longer see anything about Kosovo on CNN/BBC (except on the net of course) or other western mainstream media. They believe the strom (UDI proclaimation day riots) is over. Little do they know that was only the eye of the storm. This is just the begining of yet another struggle for Kosovo.

Historically speaking, Serbia has always won in the end when it comes to Kosovo (ask the Nazis, ask the Ottomans, ask the Austro-Hungarians)

On a completely different note... Isn't it nice to see no US/NATO involvement in the Tibet/China issue? Why aren't they intervening for "humanitarian" purposes in China??? Weren't the air strikes agaisnt Serbia done for "humanitarian" purposes as well? Hmmmm something smells odd here.

Why isn't US even picking a side here??? Why the sudden political/military absence huh US? Ohh thats right, we are dealing with a rising superpower. Thou shalt not touch.

It is sad that no one seems to be knowing what this man (Munter) says. You see his name and you think immediately you know what he is saying. Maybe you should read what he is saying and be thinking about it. I am not a Serbian but I don't think he is an enemy of the Serbian people.

Allies don't stab each other in the back, when that happens youre no longer an ally but an enemy.

Munter really needs to get an reality check.

Sure, just like Japan was a "key ally" after nuking Hiroshima and Nagasaki or Iraq or Afghanistan or Vietnam or....

Who do they think they are? I mean sure, there are still people in Serbia ready to get humiliated any time or jump when asked to but thankfully, they are soon to be extincted..

We're all getting a bit tired of this sort of thing.... every time some American official says we are your "friends", it's time to start restocking the air raid shelters.... is this supoposed to be some sort of perverted code??

As you Americans would say... "Actions speak louder than words", your actions show that you are, in fact our mortal enemies right now, NOT FRIENDS!

"Serbia is a key ally of the U.S., and a guarantee of stability in the Balkans, says the U.S. ambassador to Belgrade. "

Must be 'soul-destroying' having to lie all the time, especially when the people you are lying to absolutely know it, & you know they know it. Think the look on this guy's face says it all.

"This is not a consignment of weapons "

Lying is one thing. Denying the physical reality is quite another. If it goes 'bang'.. it is a weapon.

You have been trying to carve an illegal state out of a country with which you have been allied with in 2 world wars, & now you are going to arm the ex-terrorists that run the place.

Would hate to have your job.

In other words: Vote for our chosen candidate, or else...

Or else what exactly? If Serbia chooses a candidate that supports Serbias interests and her true friends eastwards and all over the world and not only the handful that wants to disintegrate her, will the big bad wolf bomb us again?

It is not the role of an ambassador to meddle in the elections of a sovereign state. Cameron Munter has evidently been assigned to try to bring about the desires of the US State Department in Serbia. He has strongly supported the illegal secession of Kosovo and apparently sees Tadic's Democratic Party as the best vehicle to use in achieving Kosovo's permanent separation. It would be good if the withdrawal of Serbia's ambassador from Washington resulted in Munter's parallel withdrawal from Belgrade. Let the Serbs decide their destiny for themselves.

US and Serbia allies (coffee shooting through the nose, long laughter). As usual when it comes to US only half of that statement is true, the half that works for them. Serbia has been US ally in two wars, saved their pilots... US however never did much of the ally thing back, only took, back stabbed and betrayed, but that's what US does, that's why the whole world "loves" them so much. You know what they say...with friends like that who needs enemies.

“It’s very important that we keep working with Serbia and go down the path of democratic reform, economic prosperity and military relations that we’ve had with Serbia for a long time,” Cameron Munter told FoNet.

-Please Mr Munter, don’t work anymore anything with us. It would be truly nice of you if you have forgotten about Serbia once for good. Believe me, we will manage just well without USA’s help and friendship. We don’t need your help in bringing us stability nor economical prosperity as we had chance to see where ever USA wanted to create stability and economical prosperity, it happened actually totally the opposite. Mr Munter, the USA brought “excellent” stability and economical prosperity in Iraq and Afghanistan plus over million of deaths only in Iraq. But I presume, these dead Iraqis must be just collateral damage as you Yanks like to say it.

Yes Mr Munter, we are poor but we don't want to be poorer or on higher risk of dying after your help.

The US is arming the Albnians for the next Operation Storm like in Croatia. They are focusing public opinion on making the Serbs look like obstacles to freedom and civility. No wonder that a guy like Milorad Cavic, born and raised in the US wont swim for the United States in the Olympics. I think the statement he is making is profound on the part of American Serbs.

Serbia is a key ally of the U.S., and a guarantee of stability in the Balkans, says the U.S. ambassador to Belgrade. For what as a live fire target practice of NATO and of the good old U.S. Also of couersion of the U.S. and of its European associates dose any one believe or trust in Serbia of the nonsense that comes from the so called west. Their actions speak volumes of their hypocrisies very clearly ,if not the lies and double talk that come from their mouths. I guess they live in delusions of them selfs why cant every one see or be convinced in to their delusions and facades. Is not Hollywood doing a good job any more.

Mr. Munter, please enjoy your lovely office in downtown Belgrade, enjoy watching the beautiful Serbian girls walking by the cafes in the spring, take it all in. Because after the elections, the new Serbian government will send you home packing. Good riddance, and get lost!
Oh, and please, take Sanja Biserko, Natasa Kandic, Ceda Jovanovic, and Nenad Canak wiht you. They are self-hating Serbs, and since they work for you and your interests anyway, they would be happier in the good old US of A.

We all know the old good cop/bad cop routine but this guy Munter has both personalities rolled into one. Twice in recent days he actually threatened Serbia and now he declares that the country is a "key ally". Is he schizophrenic or is he playing a dangerously manipulative game.

Whatever he's at, I wouldn't trust him as far as I'd throw him.

pre 16 godina
