"The police has the right to abstain from telling you the reason. Tell this "judge" to learn some laws."

It is these kinds of uninformed comments that just boggle my mind. The poster should learn the law, not the Judge.

In civilized societies, all those detained or arrested have the right to know why.

You are living in a police state if you don't have this right.

'that a policemen has the obligation to tell you the reason why you are arrested.'

Would be interested to know which society you hail from that enables you to state such.

If the women within KPS are so rough, I can’t imagine how rough the men are

This comment made me smile. How serbian female police officers treat their serbian female prisoners? I mean do they offer chocolates, candies, massages and pedicure?

This person says that they (UNMIK) didn't tell them why they were arresting them and that everywhere in the democratic world they (Police) should tell them why the arresting is made, in other words police should read their rights or so called in US "MIRANDA RULES".
Personaly when I was arrested and beaten up from serbian police on May 19th 1999 not because they didn't tell me why I am being arrested and beated-up, I was not allowed even to ask them so.
Just wanted to let some people know here that Albanians in Kosovo had NONE of the human rights during Ninetees. At least in Mitrovica they didn't beat them up.

It made me quite sick in the stomach to read this sad and disgusting story. One cannot imagine the feeling of humiliation to be treated like that in your own country. I have no reason to doubt the story since it was very accurate. Europe has sunk to a new low by supporting this big Kosovo sham. I am quite sure that this kind of story will be censored in the western media. Of course the Kosovo Albanian government, the EU, NATO and UNMIK are responsible for this (unfortunately they will ignore this as usual and pretend that the Serbs are dillusional). Fortunately I know that there will be a day when they will not get away with anything and when true justice will rise again. My thoughts are will all Kosovo Serbs and Serbs in these hard times and I am sure that there are many people all over the world who think the same way. God bless Serbia and all Serbs.

The U.S, their allies and a few puppet states say that Kosovo is independent. Serbia (whom Kosovo belongs to), Russia, the UN and the remainder of the 200 or so countries around the world say that Kosovo still remains Serbian territory.

So basically, does the US own the world and dictate who gets what and where? Or are we driven by law and order?

Thats what it all boils down to.

There have been powers in the world before who tried to use FORCE to get around laws. Needless to say, its only temporary and always fails.

American power is diminishing as we speak. Every day their economy tinkers closer toward bankruptcy. In 5 years, the world will be a better place without American domination. But for that to truly be accepted, they will have to suffer a major blow. Kosovo will be the start, as Russia & Serbia will work to undo the mess the U.S. has created there, and restore world law and order.

The people who arrested her was a man. The people who transported her...were men. She only says the women were harsh. Than again this is only a POV article so of course the police was stepping the line blah blah. If a protester gets jailed what do you think he would say to a reporter? Do you think the protester would say, "no it's my fault, I stepped the line, I shouldn't have protested"?

The surgical gloves...that made me smile. Also I am not sure where she thinks that a policemen has the obligation to tell you the reason why you are arrested. An individual has the right to ask if he/she is in detention or under arrested and if he/she may leave. The police has the right to abstain from telling you the reason. Tell this "judge" to learn some laws.

first of all, what a fine example of serb spirit. branka could have stayed at home safe and sound, but she rushed to be with her colleagues. these are the finest that we have. solidarity and greater good is on their minds and that's how they live. and i have learned my lesson and so in the elections i will live up to our national ideal, solidarity and greater good, not some phoney ds quick fixes, visas, maybe, 20 euros per month more with the paycheck in five years, maybe. also notice these are the people the french general who said serbs will die out and disappear and solve the problem in the north in this way, these are the people he called the mob. he called them the mob. our judges and prosecutors are the mob in the french general's eyes, but he and his did not charge them. did not indict them. well if they are the mob then that monument to a female at the entrance to kalemegdan is a monument to a prostitute. one of my ancestors died, another was left blind when they and the rest of the serb army in ww1 secured the withdrawal of the french army from greece. i was raised to know that. and now i will not forget this for as long as i live.

and second of all, bmrusila, are you kidding me :)
this is not real police, this kps thing. it's pitchfork yielding peasants turned kla terrorists, who apparently kidnapped serbs to harvest their organs, now put in uniforms. jarinje: kps withdraws. brnjak: kps withdraws. merdare: kps withdraws. kosovska mitrovica: kps withdraws. where do they go to? to pristina. where they abuse innocent women who have their hands tied, innocent women accused of nothing. and then, kps and friends come up with their worst nightmare, the real police, mup. 'we've seen mup in the court, we've seen mup around the corner, we hear mup voices' :)) fear does make eyes wide don’t it :)

EA,

Even if the people occupying the court house broke the law (which I doubt), they should have been treated with respect and human dignity. In a modern democratic country, police officers are not allowed to humiliate arrestees.

I am sorry to hear that they felt humiliated but the crossed the "red lines".
These "red lines" should be also for the Kosovar Albanians everyone should know where they stand. The red lines are that the territorial integrity of independent Kosova is undividable and no one will be allowed to use force to achieve its political goals. Serbs were told and warned many times by the international forces many times to leave the the public building but they did not want to listen. These tactics will never work. Rest assured. Let's encourage the Serbian minority to get involved in Kosova institutuions for the sake of young generation othewise will be talking and talking about humilations for decades and get no where.
