36 Days since Kosovo delcaired illgal indpence and only 32 countries recognized them, while 76 have speciffically and lcearely said they will not and 84 have remained silent to this day. My dear friend these statistics are nothing to brag about, your masters in the USA had much higher expactations in the amount of countries that would jump on the band wagaon, those numbers are no where near what they thought.

Albi, it's nice to paint yourself as the perennial victim always wanting peace in Kosovo, but very few people outside Albanian circles will buy that. If what you said was true, we would not have seen the anti-Serb riots of 2004, or at the very least, we would not have seen it so widespread. Furthermore, if Albanians have always wanted peace and Serbs have always wanted war, please explain why so many Serbs have been driven out of Kosovo Province since 1999. Please explain the reasons behind the dozens of Albanian attacks against Serb civilians in Kosovo since 1999. Please also explain why so many churches, graveyards, houses, and other Serb-held monuments have been destroyed.

Even if you refuse to believe any of that, please explain then why the Ahtisaari Plan, the plan adopted by the government in Pristina, provides such sweeping protections specifically for the Serbian minority, and the Serbian Orthodox Church. Obviously these provisions were not put there out of any particular bias towards Serbs but because most observers know of the record of Albanian violence against the Serbian population.

Finally, in regards to your apparent historical revision of Albanians making up the majority of northern Kosovo prior to 1999, have a look here at the demographic map of Kosovo

I really don't know where you're getting the information you have to write such claims. I'm sorry to say but there's very little to your comment that holds any definitive truth.

These observations could not be more clear, and I completely support the initiative for a region-wide conference on borders, the rights of ethnic groups, and the limits of local, regional, and state governments. If Kosovo Province is still to be altered to accomodate the wishes of the Serbs, we also need to look at other potential flashpoints in Bosnia, FYROM, and Serbia Proper.

I applaud these European reports on the sobering realities of Kosovo. The only thing we get in the States is "Kosovo's independence will bring peace to the region" without any explanation of how that will happen.

albi

Kosovo's hand of friendship is extended to Serbia. Kosovo offers peace, Serbia instead offers provocation and conflict.

With or without Spain's support, Albanians are determined to organize a state and a government for all citizens.

EULEX has been about offering explicit guarantees for Serbs' rights. However, if EULEX leaves Kosovo, it will not change the fundamentals. Albanians still wish to organize a democratic state with equality and safety for all. That is the will of the people. I venture to say that without EULEX bureaucrats the institutions would have an opportunity to reform and improve the situation faster.

I will remind everybody that prior to 1999 the north was Albanian majority just like the rest of Kosovo. It has been Serbia's plan B all along to concentrate Serbs in the north and take over crucial facilities there. I am confident that they will fail.

We Albanians cannot allow ourselves to be provoked into violence. Violence is Serbia's goal, not ours.

I admire your optimism but tell me something, what are you doing to improve or better say try to improve the disastrous image that your pseudo country has among most of the european country inhabitants, or maybe you are part of these great patriots living abroad with no intention to come back! When you ask them why, the answer can't be clearer "no future"
Would like to have your view on it!

GREAT DOWN TO THE POINT ARTICLE, CAN'T BE CLEARER!

This would be a particular problem for police forces, who are “hard to find”, but there are also difficulties in “recruiting” specialists, such as civil rights judges.

AND DON'T COUNT ON K-ALBANIANS TO WORK, NOW THAT SO MUCH MONEY HAS BEEN PROMISED TO THEM!!

Die Presse writes that “rumor has it” in Brussels that new EULEX officials are only envisaged for the highest positions and only “for the sake of appearances.”

WHAT A MESS!

Meantime, in another piece dedicated to Kosovo in the European press, French Le Figaro says a new international conference "where borders in the Balkans would be finally determined is needed".
"Serbs from Mitrovica, who survived one of the most radical ethnic cleansings in the Balkan history, have the right to be angry," Le Figaro said.
Explaining the reasons for clashes in Kosovska Mitrovica Monday, the newspaper said that Serbs did not want to be subordinated to a Kosovo Albanian government headed by former leaders of the KLA guerilla which committed numerous crimes against Serb civilians.

INTERESTING UNKNOW INFORMATION....I SUGGEST THE K-ALBANIAN GOVNT TO SUE LE FIGARO BUT IT WOULD BE QUIET DIFFICULT TO DENY THE TRUTH!
YOU WANTED PUBLICITY, HERE YOU GO!

Wow, looks like not only the Spanish are against UDI, but the Italian people, the French people. You see, most Americans oppose the war in Iraq, but it is still going on, just like plenty Italians and French oppose UDI, but have the government going against their will. That's the problem with todays democracy. In ancient Greece, people would vote for each issue seperately, so if you like something one party sais, and you like something the other sais, you can choose both. Today if you choose something you like, you will probably get some things you don't.

Slowly but sterady the public opinion is turning against the Kosovo UDI in the EU member states, more and more newspapers are being more and more critical about the path the US & EU has chosen for Kosovo.
