The New World Order needs to cool off, it's treading a very VERY fine line between peace and WW3.

Be careful.

Peace to all my Serbs.
God is with you.

The U.S. threw a fit when its embassy was on fire last month. Bush threatened Serbia and said it was a deliberate attack.
However the U.S. wasn't too upset when they blew up the Chinese Embassy and killed people. The U.S. and NATO simply said "Oops! It was a mistake! Sorry!" Even though the evidence shows the bombing of the Chinese Embassy was a deliberate planned attack.

(Rhetorical) Does any reasonable person really expect NATO or KFOR or UNMIK to honestly investigate this matter and assume any blame?

As someone who spent nearly a year working in a Palestinian refugee camp in the occupied West Bank, I was shocked to see the images of NATO intervention in Mitrovica and the riot suppression techniques used (including disproportionate deployment of forces, use of lethal 'riot suppression' munitions like rubber bullets and tear-gas, and the targeting of youths in the streets resisting an invasion of their community). A Serbian intifada against Western occupation is necessary. The sooner the better and must include resistance against pro-Western politicians in the West as well as those nationalist politicians who only spread ethnic hatred. We need to fight for a new Balkans, without NATO influence! This is best for everyone in the region, Serbs, Albanians, Macedonians, Bosniaks, Croats, etc.

I nominate Amnesty international to conduct the investigation with the proviso that the bank accounts and property portfolios of all members of the investigative team and their families is monitored before, during and for 5 years after the investigation.

N.B. To B92.
Please can you find out for your readers the numbers and types of injuries of casualties from Mondays conflict. We (your readership) would like to know:
1. How many people (both UNMIK/KFOR & Serbs suffered gunshot wounds.
2. How many from both sides were injured by grenades (both flashbangs/shocks and fragmentary).
3.How many were injured by rubber bullets or bean bags. Plus have Serbs in Mitrovica collected up any spent rubber bullets or other soft munitions, which would show what UNMIK were firing at the crowds.
4. The locations of injuries on Serbs, this would show if they were taking direct fire or not.

This info should not be to hard to get for the Serb victims from the hospital in Mitrovica. The UNMIK/KFOR casualty details might be a bit harder.

This would be a good investigative piece for the B92 team and would stop a lot of the back and forth between the protagonists on this site. It would also clear up who was shooting what at whom. We have all heard the reports that Serbs/UNMIK used Automatic weapons but forensic reports would confirm this because it is difficult to miss a crowd of people or a police line with an automatic.

To Lili,

Good that you are reminding me about the drug dealers and their juicy business...already forgot that in Switzerland more than 50 % of the drug and prostitution is controlled by k-albanians, or maybe there are Serbs 'dressed in k-albanians'... of course they are in a good school with Thaci, he started all and unfortunately for us his first base was in Switzerland too!

Thanks Ban Ki-moon for starting showing your teeth and reminding these Unmik hot headed what there role really his.
Thanks Mr Galluci, thanks for giving us another side of the story, thanks for having the courage of not cowardly accepting all what is being dictated by irresponsible politicians! Hopefully you will go the next step and denouncing this miserable political act of pseudo illegal recongnition.
Thanks to DelPonte too for having the courage to write about your frustration coming out of the quasi inexistant cooperation of Unmik in chasing and arresting all the KLA terrorists! You are a US person non grata and that says all, a lot of pseudo politicians must start feeling a stinky sweat around them for all what they have been trying to cover up for so many years.
The arm twisting made to 'convince' coutries to recon this illegal act is becoming a farce and prove one more time, if necessary, what a stupid unthoughtfull move it was.

that, in mitrovica north, there are a lot of criminels,in kosova ,we all know that: the serbian criminals are in north kosova, where they want to have chaos so that their biznesses go well! they are the ones that are smuggling organising drogue traffic and human being traffic....

It is quite clear to any rational & impartial person that UNMIK should not be in charge of any investigation into the recent riots at the court-house in Kosovska Mitrovica.

The reasons are as follows:

1): The higher echelons of UNMIK have shown partiality towards the K-albanian faction. They are biased against the serbs.

Proof:

Carla del Ponte, who is no friend of the serbs has categorically stated that UNMIK officials have interferred with her erstwhile prosecution of Haradinaj in the Hague by withholding & altering evidence, & by refusing to provide protection to prosecution witnesses testifying against Haradinaj.

Among these UNMIK officials is one Joachim Ruecker who currently leads UNMIK.

2): Ruecker was the individual who ordered the raid on the court-house in circumstances such that a riot was almost inevitable.

These circumstances were:

(a): the raid was launched on the aniversary of the 2004 Kosovo riots - a day on which serbs suffered province-wide attacks by masses of K-albanians & a day of especial sensitivity to them.

(b): a dawn raid, to minimise interference with the actual arrests. The natural consequence of this was that the local serb population found itself suddenly confronted with what they perceive as a hostile force - leaving no time for more moderate heads to prevail.

So the situation at the court-house rapidly went from confrontation, to escalation, to widespread violence.

This was wholly forseeable, & as such, Ruecker bears at least a partial responsibility for the ensueing violence.

So it is wholly improper that as head of UNMIK, Joachim Ruecker should preside over ANY investigation of the recent riot.

3): Even where it the case that UNMIK was impartial & Ruecker handled the raid intelligently, it would still be improper for UNMIK to be handling an investigation as it was one of the parties to the conflict.

Other pertinent issues:

1): A lack of any urgency for a raid in the first instance.

2): There was further scope for negotiations given the Serbian minister for Kosovo's visit later that same day.

Recommendations:

1. Based on this rationale, UNMIK should recuse itself of the investigation & hand it over to an impartial 3rd party.

2. Joachim Ruecker should immediately resign pending further investigations of his actions.

Thank you for your time.

An American soldier from the car in motion emptied two charges from his gun shooting randomly in the direction of the protesters.
Practice widely used in Iraq by Americans to steer up riots and make confusion. Shame!
-In the courthouse there were 25 woman.
-The agreement was not to make any move until meeting with Mr Samardzic Monday morning.
-Troops cuff linked everyone inside the building and lay them on the floor.
-after one hour troops are without apparent reason starting demolishing building from inside breaking everything they could find. You guess why: to simulate the conflict with demonstrators that has not happened.

Yes investigations will follow like the many before.

Pavle, you're clearly holding your own here and I agree with nearly everything you said. Nikshala, I also share your wish for a full and unbiased investigation into the matter.

But let's be honest. A "unbiased" investigation will have to be conducted by a third party: no Serbs, no KFOR - and by extension, no Albanians. There are a number of questions still unanswered:

1. Why did UNMIK feel the need to storm the courthouse when we were told negotiations were taking place with Samaradzic?

2. How did the Serb protestors, after dozens of previous protests, come to allegedly have weapons this time around?

3. How is it that KFOR claims it used automatic weapons and shot only in the air and we have at least two Serbs in critical condition, and dozens of others injured in the scuffle?

4. Who ordered UNMIK to storm the courthouse?

Like the parent who hears the cookie jar break in the next room and comes to find their two children standing there pointing the finger at each other, both sides are going to claim the utmost innocence. Therefore, we need a completely objective investigation to unearth all the details.

It doesn't take a genius to figure out the UN's forceful removal of peaceful demonstrators was planned to cause conflict. They expected a Serbian response and the plan was to blame the Serbians so the next round of recognitions come under the cover of "Serbian violence". You only have to read the propaganda coming from the Western press to see that.

What is needed is an independent investigation. Not one conducted by one of the parties.

The next step Serbians need to take is to stop co-operating with UNMIK and NATO.

Non of us is realistic and honest.

When 1 UNMIK policeman (Ukraine) died and about 30 policemen are seriousely injured by Serbs, than are needed investigations about intervention of UNMIK police.

This is 'attack is best defence'...

UNMIK and KFOR should and they will do investigations, because finally they are most damaged in these riots. Investigations are necessary for the reason that they are responsible for security in Kosovo, they should know from where might come danger, although they have clearly told who is behind riots. Investigations will prove or deny, but than it will be very official and trustfull report...

A fair investigation would be good, agreed, but I don't think that UNMIK have any intention of investigating how their forces fired upon protestors. If its just a case of them investigating Serb responsibility and not their own, it will be a whitewash.

However, I am interested in the allegations that Serbs used automatic weapons, as UNMIK claimed. I didn't see that in any of the news reports, although some news agencies repeated the allegation on the strength of statements from UNMIK/KFOR.

I saw a brief interview yesterday evening on 'Russia Today' - one of the very few TV news organizations to actually be on the ground in Kosovo province and reporting and interviewing, unlike many others - and there was an elderly Serb man from Mitrovica who told of how he had been arrsted by KFOR soldiers and subsequently released, but that, during his arrest, when he complained about the tightness of his handcuffs, one of the KFOR soldiers tightened the cuffs. Also, he told how he witnessed a KFOR soldier in the vehicle he was in after being taken away after arrest load a magazine into his gun and fire at Serbs from the (presumably moving) vehicle. This contradicts the lies of KFOR spokesman, Etienne du Fayet de la Tour, who said that KFOR were firing only warning shots. If the KFOR soldiers see themselves as some 'Rambo' types in implementing America's racist, Serbophobic foreign policy, they have to realise that police forces or indeed forces that would police a population will not succeed if they try to brutalize and abuse a population. Germany found that out in the Second World War, and any modern day, non-military policeman will tell you that the law counts for nothing if the civilian population does not respect it or you or your actions or what you stand for.

KFOR coming into a population under the assumption that they will accept their own country being destroyed by a racist policy being directed 5000 miles away in Washington was their first mistake. I urge the Polish and Ukrainian soldiers to leave because they shouldn't have to risk their lives just because the US Mint has printed large quantities of bits of paper called dollars and handed it over to their respective governments for their military participation.

An unbiased and fair investigation would be a good thing - but is DSS willing to accept its findings and face justice?

Be careful what you ask for because it might just happen - I have no doubt that elements of serbian goverment were directly responsible for organising and orchestrating the violence on Monday.

Non of us is realistic and honest.
When Albanians were killed by UNMIK (Romanian) police, while no policemen were injured, we were saying that it was adequate intervention of UNMIK police. When 1 UNMIK policeman (Ukraine) died and about 30 policemen are seriousely injured by Serbs, than are needed investigations about intervention of UNMIK police.

How double standards?!

I know what will be reaction of Serbia in both scenarios!!!

My honest condolences to a family of Ukraine policeman.

What will be the difference if EULEX takes over except to bypass Russia and Serbia at least they both had a say in the UN and some leverage. When Brussels takes over it will act as a law on to it self with total hypocritical arrogance like it always dose and wrap it self in some imaginary European flag. Claim Kosovo as its own private back yard and for Russia ,Serbia to but out of EU's sphere of influence. That will completely annoy infuriate Russia and Serbia. Talk of unstableness and of a crisis developing do any of these idiots know what they are doing or do they trust in their weapons and gang affiliation's to win the day. Most of the occupiers will stay and just trade their badges and loyalty to the EU Brussels how will buy their loyalty with a lot of euros. “some kind” of agreement was signed between EULEX and UNMIK, and that the UN mission was expected to pull out of Kosovo after 120 days. Care full the area has been a tinder box always many could be burned royally down to their hypocritical arrogance.

"An unbiased and fair investigation would be a good thing"

Totally agree!!! But lets be realistic an investigation by any of the parties in kosovo cannot be deemed as unbiased nor fair!

As for belgrade supporting the serbs in mitrovica I have no doubt that support exists, as for it orchestrating the riot Hmmmm! questionable! and please don't for minute try to play the innocent card and delude yourself that albanians in kosovo during all this unpleasantness, wouldn't be where they are if they hadn't received outside support.(financial military etc.).

I assume the person who ordered the violence will be leading the inquiry.

Yeah! But whose listening???

This seems to be the main problem in finding a solution in Kosovo. Both Serbs and Albanians are going blindly nowhere regardless of how many countries recognise Kosovo this will remain and continue to be a frozen conflict.
The fact is and as always been, that there are two peoples who have nothing in common with one another, they have nothing that binds them as a nation other than the ground on which they stand. Not unlike the albanian wish not to be governed by belgrade you will have to accept, the same applies to serbs and their wish of not wanting to governed by Pristina.

Mike

pre 16 godina

The U.S. threw a fit when its embassy was on fire last month.
