Consultations with Russia? I asked you to post this earlier comment but you never did. Here it is again...
I want anyone to correct me if I am wrong here. Serbia is a member of the United Nations and they pay dues to this organization. These dues contribute to the Mission Subsistence Allowance (MSA) which is in turn paid to the UNMIK Police Officers serving in the mission in Kosovo (75 euro a day). Now there are Russian Police Officers serving in the UNMIK mission, that fall in the chain of command, of the individuals that authorized the operation at the courthouse in Mitrovica. These Officers volunteer for the mission and the Russian Government authorizes it. Two questions. Why doesn't Serbia withdrawal it's membership from the UN if they are helping to finance this "excessive use of force" that took place. It seems like they should have sent a letter to the UN saying we are no longer a member. Second question. Why are the Russian Police Officers that serve in the mission helping with the training and monitoring of the SERBIAN and ALBANIAN Police Ofiicers if Moscow disagees with the Independence of Kosovo? It seems to me like they would have brought their Officers home on the 17th of February. I do believe that everybody is in bed each other!

Too scared to post the comment about the Russian Officers because it is true? Thought you were a democratic society with freedom of the press! Shame on you. Hell will be awfully crowded my friend...

I have always said partition of Kosovo between Serbia and an independent Kosovo is the only just soloution. How can you expect Pristina to rule the north of Kosovo, when the people who live their, the Serbs have no wish of this. The same with the rest of Kosovo, how can you expect Belgrade to rule that, when the people who live their do not wish to be ruled by Belgrade.

ORTHODOX,

“… No European would like to have Russian missiles and special forces deployed in the center of the continent !...”

I think that few Russian bases in Serbia would be a very good idea. It would without any doubt contribute to mutual trust and understanding between NATO and Russia, considering the facts that NATO is installing their rockets all over the place bringing them closer and closer to your borders. At the same time they are insisting that you don’t have nothing to worry about. If that is so, I say bring Russian rockets closer to NATO. I would welcome Russian rocket forces (and Army, air force e.c.t.) in Serbia. Presevo valley would be nice place to build huge base. I would also suggest sanding Kuznetsov on the leisure Adriatic cruise more often.

Will,

I fully agree with you. This will just reinforce the bully image of the Serbs by citizens of democratic countries. This is really bad PR they are doing for themselves.

Chill man. There are thousands of Marcos, Marks and Marcs in this world. You are not seriously thinking that all of us should share the same opinions just because we happen to have the same name.

The arguments matter here, not the username.

No matter if Russian troops are really brought to Northen Kosovo or not it was a good step on Kostunica's behalf. The other side respects only power. So even the start of such consultings may be a great deal and a moral support for those in K-Mitrovica.

If there are Russian troops in Serbia you gain a good stake over bargaining for EU membership case their withdrawal may become your Jocker to be exchanged for the integration. No European would like to have Russian missiles and special forces deployed in the center of the continent !

You are right: there must be millions of Marcos in the world. So why not state where you are from? Just in order to prevent confusion. I do not mind that I am from Venice in the North (i.e., Amsterdam). In fact, I am proud to be an "Amsterdammer" (not so proud to be a Dutchman these days). So be a man and sign with your name and your hometown.

And yes arguments do matter, that is why I do not like to be associated with your remarks about the Russian ambassador at the UN.

Perfect example of serbs twisting a situation to the extreme for their own interests...although its hard to imagine how going down this path is beneficial to them. it will only demonise serbs even more. This will be the only end result. Illegal state or not is irrelevant, people cant simply take matters into their own hands. Id like to think what would serbian police do if this happened in belgrade. At the same time, I wonder whether Belgrade is using these serbs who some are unlikely to have much education as pawns to create chaos in the region (and then of course blame everyone else).

How come that all of a sudden there is a second Marco on the B92 forum, whose opinions radically differ from me. Is this some sick joke? Please explain!

Kostunica and those who support him are playing a dangerous game in Mitrovica which I believe it will backfire.

Nato and foreign troops in Mitrovica should assert its authority and establish the rule of law. No should be immune from breeching the law and order even if your name is Serb or Albanian!

Things will backfire, but not at Kostunica et al (but at NATO, Kosovo Albanians, the EU, and the UN). Solana et al today stressed that UNSC 1244 is still in place (how else can it be "breached"?). The rule of international law says that Kosovo is a Serbian province. In the end even NATO, the EU, and the KLA provincial government will also not be immune for the law and I am waiting for the day that various high-level people in these organizations will be on trial in The Hague for the crimes they committed. Until that time Serbs in all of Serbia have the right to defend themselves and be Serbs in their own country.

Who ever it was that decieded to use force to break up a labour despute and thereby turned peaceful civil disobediance into a major international incident has no appreciation for the situation, or for human life. I can not imagine that it was a millitary officer's decision to escalate violence and provide a fuse for the balkan powderkeg, I wonder who could possibly gain from this as neither the UN, the Serbs or the Albanians can bennefit from this. I am wondering if it is United States policy to create instabillity in Europe?
