True, when is action there is reaction. So when you send armed forces to calm down a nation, the nation will react with weapons.
I dont understand it. Why is it so difficult to understand that when you have an occupying force, be it un, nato or whatever, the occupied people will eventually be hostile. and this will lead to clashes and deaths. Instead of strengthening the political stability, the international organisations strengthen the nationalistic feeling of both sides in the Kossovo area. And the clashes and deaths and the separations is just the logical and normal reaction to this unbelievable stupidity of forcing peace.
If the people of Serbia werent fed with "peacekeeping" missions, then I am pretty sure that a more peaceful solution would have been found.
But thats just the plan of the falling superpower. Divide and conquer.
I only pity those poor citizens in Kossovo, both Serbians and albanians, tht they will suffer the consequences of their "protectors" and i am afraid very soon.

well, even if EA is speaking against the breach of law, no matter whether done by Albanians or Serbs, and on this point I am with him...

but,

where was that opinion when the K-albanian "leaders" breached international law by proclaiming "independence" a few days ago?

EA, if you are against the violation of law, you have to be totally against it, and not only when it serves your interest.

by the way, I think that was a planned provocative act, but it seems like it has backfired, now we have a nice example of how the socalled independence brings stability and peace....

by the way, the world is watching, and some of them will be smart enough to think for themselves, ( and realize that a minority of states is actin against the UN )

Serbia stands strong, and won´t give in.

"EU High Representative Javier Solana expressed his deep concern for the clashes in Kosovska Mitrovica."

Why is this unelected EU technocrat/former NATO chief suddenly so concerned. This was predicted and the arrogant position the EU has taken has actually accelerated events (as was hoped by people like Solana)

"“NATO will respond decisively to any form of force in line with its UN mandate” in Kosovo, Appathurai said in Brussels, and “strongly condemned the violence” in northern Kosovska Mitrovica."

NATO is behaving in a way that will lead to more regional instability and maybe worse.

"At least 100 people were injured in clashes in the town between local Serbs and members of the international mission to Kosovo."

First of all my best wishes to all those Serbs injured and their worried and angry families. All those troops in the NATO forces may say they are doing their jobs and that they have to follow orders, but you are nothing more than imperialistic occupiers.

"“We heard the news of today’s violence in Kosovska Mitrovica with the gravest concern,” the Slovenian president told a press conference."

In real words. We are quite pleased that our strategy is working out. This is another great opportunity to show the world how bad the Serbs and Serbia are and we hope that this will further destabalize Serbia as well.

"“Events are causing concern, and we expressed the hope that reason will prevail, and that the situation will stabilize,” he said, adding that he wanted “everyone who can help calm the current situation, and establish the conditions necessary for UNMIK’s work and for the implementation of Security Council Resolution 1244, to do so.”"

If reason had prefailed the UDI would not have happened! The only one that can stabalize the situation is the Serbian army and I hope that President Tadic will have the guts to take his responsibility now and define his Western "friends". The most interesting thing is mentioning the validity of UNSC 1244. Confirming this actually means that the EU acknowledges that Kosovo is still a official part of Serbia which makes the UDI invalid and illegal, as claimed by Serbia and 80% of the decent world.

"“We hope that, in the coming hours and days, matters will unfold in that direction,” said Turk."

That remains to be seen. I just hope there will be no more Serbian casulties.

"Solana agreed with Turk. “We’re very worried by the situation, and we’d like everyone to try and calm the situation, as it’s not getting us anywhere, violence is not getting us anywhere,” he said, stressing his support for KFOR and other institutions representing the international community on the basis of Resolution 1244."

There is a big flaw in all of this. Various EU countries have decided to ignore UNSC 1244 and so these countries cannot represent the international community. Apparently violence got them somewhere in 1999 (and now it is suddenly not good).

"“I call on all those who can help pacify the situation to really do everything in their powers,” said Solana, pointing out that this was a very “sad moment, and that it is in everyone’s interests to calm the situation.”"

OK Mr. Putin. Now it is time to turn all the rethoric and support into real action. Send Russian troops to Northern Kosovo to replace NATO/KFOR and things will be better quickly.

"Responding to journalists’ questions, the EU high representative confirmed that “the EULEX mission will continue to be implemented in line with its schedule, and that there was currently nothing necessitating a change to that calendar that had been agreed upon by all EU members.”"

EULEX is an illegal thing according to UNSC 1244. This is once again proof that this man has a short term memory and cannot be trusted at all times.

"Asked about EU policy towards Serbia in the event of a nationalist victory in the May elections, he replied that “we can’t yet talk about the election results.”"

My prediction. The party of Nikolic will have a landslide victory.

"“Our policy towards Serbia is a policy whereby we’re trying to bring Serbia as close to the EU as possible,” said Solana, and expressed the hope that “Serbian institutions would respond positively to this position of the EU’s.”"

Wrong answer. The EU policy is to push Serbia away, to isolate it (and not Serbia isolate itself), to break international law, to reward terrorists, to lie, te deceive, and the Serbian people will not accept this and they will tell the EU a big NO!!!

"The EU high representative said that Serbia needed “to be left to prepare” for elections, and expressed the hope that they would be “democratic and fair.”"

Serbia is a democracy and the people of Serbia will choose wisely and accept the consequences (I wonder if Europe can accept the results). Stop interfening into Serbia's internal affairs. When Taic won all was democratic and fair and so why should the parlementairy elections be any different?

I think the Serbian government should demand that the International Red Cross will get access to the Serbs who were arrested and taken to Pristina. If anything will happen to them the illegal provincal government will be held responsible.

Princip, until some late you were here predicting:

- No violence - NATO will act!
What's the problem now? Or you intended No violence only from Albanians, Serbs are above the law?

We've seen already every time the Third Law of Newton: every action has produced the opposite reaction. It has brought us where we're now from 1989. In this case the court bulding was seized by unauthorised people: action - police/NATO reacted. What would happen if a court building in UK or elsewhere were seized by unauthorised or sacked people?
To be quite honest, the scene of today reminded me of police operation in Southern Italy: every time police arrest some mafioso the whole vicinity appears to make caos to help him escape and defy the state authority. Fortunately they don't use fire arms. That's the difference between the two realities.

What's NATO going to do, shoot Serb protestors. These people need to declare independence and stay with Serbia, where they belong. The EU should get the hell out of the Balkans ditto for NATO.

The KFOR commanders knew in advance that storming the court house and arresting the protesters would provoke a fierce reaction from the K-Serbs, and yet they decided to take the court house by force. It almost seems as if they wanted the Serbs to react to their provocations....

Let this be a shinning example of clarity regarding NATO's intention towards Serb and Serbia. It is without question, NATO's intention is to utterly destroy, humiliate, intimidate, and with force of arms, subject Serbs to the illegal invasion of ALBANIA. That's right, I said it...ALBANIA and it's NATO masters.

A few days ago, NATO negligently blew up an arms depot that injured scores of civilians. NATO's response? Immediately they transported blood from KOSOVO to Tirana in order to cover up their undoubted criminal responsibility. Such humanitarians and so quick to respond. Let's get rid of the old Albanian stockpiles so that they will be forced to purchase new, modern Western European and or US weapons. Heck, you can't join our club with those old pea shooters, you need the fresh cool stuff, the super expensive, fully integrated, digital, satellite relay weapons for NATO's front lines. And those front lines stretch from Afghanistan to Serbia with no end in sight within this defunct defensive institution.

NATO, an organization created to protect Europe, a DEFENSIVE organization has simply gone mad. Is this the Europe Europeans want, or is this the Europe Americans want? Is this the standard of 21st century civilization Europe has demonstrated for others to aspire towards? How can NATO/EU look at the world and claims these actions as just, even handed, legal, or DEFENSIVE! Quite the contrary, their actions are OFFENSIVE, OPPRESSIVE, without legality and ethics. I applaud Serbia, who's resistance to this foreign invasion will be celebrated for generations to come.

As Winston Churchill stated during Serbia's historic struggle against then NAZI Germany..."Serbia has found it's Soul."

Princip, UK

Solano is just adding more fuel to the fire and clearly wants things to escalate!

For every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction.
- you'd think these so called intelligent officials would be aware of Newton's Third law but sadly they seem intent on creating ever greater instability in the region!
