I actually believe that the route being used by Tadic and Jeremic is working well. The UN is in a major hole - they can't start attacking Serbs or acting as Kosovo's army. It goes against their mandate which specifically states that Kosovo remains part of Serbia.

By keeping things on a diplomatic and non aggressive level, the way is kept open for further negotiations to take place (which they will).

The province is heading for partition with the 'A' Plan in the South, or to have its status altered to something which offers a realistic and legal framework within which the UN and EU can operate.

I agree with Kostunica that these nations should be sued, but the US has way too much influence on the UN and I'm not convinced that even the highest court would approach this fairly any more. Look at how they pushed aside trying Nato nations for the bombing, even though it was a very strong case.

If this got to the courts and it went against Serbia (and nothing would surprise me now) then its case over Kosovo would be weakened. At the moment they have all international laws on their side and are actually in a strong position.

Just look at Bush
(Dani, 16 March 2008 01:47)

When he is gone, people will proclaim Bush as a hero for starting the war on terror. Trust me this is how history happens. When people such as John Hancock or Tupac or anyone "legendary" existed no one held them as heroes or great minds...it is their death that marks them. George Bush will go down well in history, no matter how low his ratings go.

I guess we'll see on May 11 if "Clinton" Tadic can fool the Serbian people again. I can only advise that the polls be watched carefully for attempted fraud, keep the western "observers" out, and no more thrown out ballots like in the presidential election.

Artificial subject is Serbia! With this clever slogan Tadic will defend Kosovo and push Serbia in the EU for sure. Artificially, but anyway!

sp, do you actually understand the difference between a presidential election and parliamentary elections?

it looks like you don´t.

"Koštunica favors Serbia's EU integration only once Brussels declares itself on what it sees as Serbia's sovereign borders." Koštunica knows very well that the EU as an institution does not declare itself on countries' borders. Even if it could, it cannot in this case because EU members are divided on this. Since he knows this better than anyone, his motive obviously is something other than telling us the truth. This is nothing other than the most cynical election posturing.

The more I listen to Tadic, the greater the creeping feeling of Deja vu. Tadic will promise the Serbs in Kosovo that he will not abbandon them as Another Serbian President once promised the Serbs in Krajina that he will not abbandon them.

This will lead to greater domestic political support for the President who will take no concrete measures to defend the right to exist of these people, and when the extreme element of Albanians in Kosovo realize that the Serbs in Kosovo have no support in Belgrade, or any where else, they will get rid of their 'Serbian Problem' in a pogram that rivals what was seen in August of 1995.

President Tadic will go on television to explain how he could do nothing, not even what he promised, because of the dastardly intrigues of the West. He will then up his nationalist stance and desperate for leadership people will follow him saying "he tried to defend Serbia peacfully" and "he tried to negotiate" and then the real isolation...

Tadic will not even take the west to court over Kosovo, and Tadic does not care what borders the EU recognizes; Tadic cares for power and wealth and not his countrymen in Kosovo. If Milosevic fooled Serbia, how can we let Tadic do the same?

To the Serbian neighbours,

I hope that one day they will realise the reality of new global political era, Kosovo is now independent and only god can change new reality of Balkans. Laugh at this “Just as we defend Albanians and their rights in Kosovo,” Dear readers, I believe that everybody is mature to judge the statement of the PM. And stop lying your own nation.

Serbia better son rather than later have to recognize Kosova In order to be stabile country and look ahead into EU prosperity.

Tadic & Comp. are deceiving Serb public with these stories about EU membership. We will be kept out of EU and he knows that: http://www.globalresearch.ca/index.php?context=va&aid=8304

Tadić also rejected the Democratic Party of Serbia (DSS) claims that the May 11 early parliamentary elections are about Kosovo, saying that this is an "artificial subject", since the "united state policy has secured the widest consensus in the society".

-I suppose the key simple sentence is artificial subject. So, our president thinks Kosovo is artificial subject. I just say, shame on you Tadic!

However, I would like to thank our former prime minister of revealing publicly DS’s obstruction in suing those countries that recognised Kosovo before international court. The DS should be ashamed. I really hope that this time they hardly pass census so that even coalition with LDP won’t help them. I hope they are past and hope they will never, never rule over the country.

I will start with my own campaign in my neighbourhood against DS!

The only "merit" of Kostunica with his policies is that he willingly or unwillingly speeded up Kosova's full independence.
If he voted well in this coming Serbian election he will have another "merit" in isolating Serbian people more.
I will pray for the Serbian people to make the right choice!
