It's funny to see the advocates for EU/US/NATO's monoethnic Kosovo defend their propaganda machines called CNN, BBC, UPI, AFP, Reuters and AP. The fact is that monoethnic Pristina (now minus 40,000 minorities) withheld medicine from minorities without a peep from "journalists" working for those lobbies. UNMIK supported the aggression against the medically ill.

It is no coincidence that those same medical facilities are protected by barb wire to keep the KLA and Kosovo government (same thing) from killing and cleansing those very people waiting for medications.

EA (#15),

In my opinion, the way CNN is covering events on the Balkans cannot be considered very objective. If you compare CNN to some West European broadcasters, you will see that CNN is covering Balkan news almost exclusively from an American perspective, while for instance Dutch or Belgian television (and to a lesser extent the BBC) do their best to describe Balkan events from different angles.

Northern part may act a as outlaw region where everything passes by without any control what so ever, but in rest of Kosova we like keep it under the rule of LAW. What concerns health care, no one is allowed to stop it. But, without checking out what really contians on them we can't simply ignore that under legal procedures.

B92,

We and international community are getting tired here of hatred comments here by some of the Serbian fantasists here.

It is well known the Serbian strategy of being "victimised", "humanitarian incidents", "a ransacked church", "witholding insulin from diabetes patients", "breaking the nose Serbian grandmothers in market places because they speak Serbian", "keeping the Serbs in ghettos, "Serbias Christian churches got torched?"

And to conclude with (johny, 15 March 2008 05:29)

Rest assured that if there is something going on in Kosova/o CNN and BBC will be the first ones to show it. If it is news they will sell it. There is not a global conspiracy against Serbia. Do not fool yourselves, into thinking that Serbia is so important that all the western world wants to destroy it. That is a Stalinist and Maoist way of thinking.

Sekulić said that they could not request the certificate, because this would "involve them in the health care system of the self-styled state of Kosovo".

Is he prepared to leave the people die and suffer? The people of his own background!
His rejection to sign the paper work is the only bizarre explanation.
It has nothing to do with Albanian’s stopping the medicine.
Doctors like this should never be allowed to serve. They wish for old and sick people to die just to blame the Albanian’s. It’s Shocking and Disgraceful.
Further more I can not believe that a lot off this comment made in here are from people that live in western democratic countries. Is your adopted country teaching you anything?

Jack is completely accurate. Chris must not follow the news or works for the American media (a.k.a. Albanian Lobby). UNMIK held those medicications to further their nine years of minority repression for the Kosovo Albanaians they sleep with.

"What happened to the American media when Serbias Christian churches got torched?"

First let me clarify that I am a christian. Secondly I have a couple of questions for you, even though I have an idea what the answers are gonna be like.

Are churches more important than mosques? If yes why do you think so?

If no then I would think you would agree with me that burning and tearing down mosques and Catholic churches is just as bad as burning and tearing down Orthodox churches.

The thing that unltra-nationalists, religious zealots and clerico-fascists do not get is that it is not about religion, churches, or mosques it is about people, and if people are mistreated you are going to know about it. That is how we learned about African Americans, that is how we learned about Darfur, about Bosnia, Croatia and Kosova/o.

Witholding insulin from diabetes patients? I guess burning 156 Serbian churches, breaking the nose Serbian grandmothers in market places because they speak Serbian, keeping the Serbs in ghettos behind barbed wire....this is just not enough. It just goes to show you what the albanians in Kosovo are capable of.

Chris,

What happened to the American media when Serbias Christian churches got torched? Or the fact that Serbs and other minorities live under apparthied. Chris lets be honest, since you have enlightened yourself, admit the United States press is biased and serves Washington.Your not fooling anyone on this forum. The war in Yugoslavia is between Russia and the United States. Read " Bushes Doctrine " in the economist magazine and you'll understand what's happenning.

Chris

Actually, Jack, As someone who prides themself on reading media from all over the world to get as close to the truth as possible, I have never seen a democratic country with a such a biased media as Serbia (with the exception of B92). Venezuela, North Korea, and Iran are worse, but then they aren't democratic. And there is a story running in the American media today about the UNMIK building in Mitrovica being attacked. When was the last time an Albanian group ransacked a church? It has been a while hasn't it? True, Americans don't see stories about Albanian hordes ransacking churches...but that is because it hasn't happened in 4 years, maybe the "international bloggers" should live in the present, not in the past. Because, as you well know, bringing up the past is not going to do anything positive for the Serbian community. Good luck and best wishes.

mm, you didn't understand the situation. Serbia has material means to take care of the Serbs in Kosovo. Tons of medical supplies have been sent to the enclaves but were blocked by Kosovo authorities, who demand that Serbia fill out proper international customs paperwork in order to let the medical help thrue. Serbia won't do that, as it would be act done between two states, and in Serbia's views Kosovo isn't one.
That's why they're adressing UNMIK to make sure that aid will continue to come as it used to. UNMIK should after all continue to go by UN 1244. Unfortunatelly, they've decided to close their eyes.
Should tragedy occur nobody will care. We've seen such examples before. Anyone remembers Banja Luka "incubator babies"? They were allowed to die, but UN gave no permission for oxygen to fly in.

Jack, you are absolutely correct However, it is a very hard uphill battle to get the newspapers to print anything that is pro-Serb, even humanitarian incidents as this one. But, some of us Serb are trying - hoowever, being Serb immediately puts you in a biased position and anything you say is suspect, even if your message is from non-Serb entities. All we can do is keep chipping away. Anyway, to all non-Serbs - thank you very much for your support and understanding - it is very much appreciated.

I make one suggestion to my international bloggers. We can all go on b92 and read the news and vent our anger on the Wests treatment of the Serbs and other minorities in Kosovo. The news you are getting on B92 is not what's shown here in America. Americans do not have a clue what's going on in Kosovo. The last news that was shown here in the States about this region was when soccer holigans stormed the U.S. embassy. How long ago was that people? If you want to educate the Americans and the Europeans on what is going on in Kosovo, contact the Christian churches and send them links about the destroyed churches, the conditions Serbs and other minorities live in. Send e-mails today, be pro-active, get on your computer now and do some thing!
