It has stopped at 27, will reach about thirty soon (with Lithuania, Croatia and Norway announcing their intent), and then it is unknown when the next countries will do it. Others are sitting and watching the situation, they won't act rashly because the US tells them to, that's for sure.

Oh god, not another one! NATO AND EU MEMBERSHIP REQUIRE FULL AGREEMENT FROM ALL MEMBERS BEFORE ANY NEW STATE CAN JOIN THEM!!!

"The same Russia that harbors most of Millosevic's collaboraters. The same Russia that didn't agree to have troops in Kosova for any longer term. The same Russia that agreed to 1244 (to which Serbs were so against)."

I think you will find most of "Millosevic's collaboraters" on trial at the Hague along with some of the KLA guys.

I don't remember the Serbs ever being against resolution 1244.

Jeremić's arguments are based on laws and facts and are hard for anyone to refute. This is why the US and its EU friends have resorted to a UDI. Still only 27 countries have recognised Kosovo and not the 100+ that Thaci promised.

Delije,
The No of countries that recognise indepedent Kosovo is groing every day. You wait and see, it is three weeks only from the declaraion day. It took other countries ages to be fully recognised.
In addition, majority of countries that have not recognised Kosovo Independence yet does not meen that they opose Kosovo Indepenence. They will recogise Kosovo Independence soon, It is jus a metter of time. I talk to you at the end of this year and you tell me who was right.

Very touching indeed Mr. Jeremić, you show a lot of courage to defend aspirations of the country you represent, aspirations which brought war and suffering for millions of people in Ex-YU, aspirations of domination with life’s and property of all Serbian neighbors, aspirations that remind us of dark middle age with no respect for human rights, aspirations of segregations and violations with all written and unwritten laws made by human or by God, aspirations that made entire democratic world to feel ashamed for not acting properly to stop such a Serbia, aspirations that left entire generations of ex common state without any security in whatever this word means, aspirations that made impassable gap between Serbia and all of her neighbors. It’s an Albanian saying that: ‘’When you get burned once from the hot milk, you’ll be careful even with yogurt’’. We’ve been burned in every possible way Mr. Jeremić, and there’s nothing in this world you can say, for us to start believing in your words. We made our choice, our roads are separated and we expect nothing good from you, maybe just a human act of returning the bones of 3000 missing Albanians. Like you, my dearest neighbors like to say: "we will forgive, but we will never forget”, I can just add that we will not forgive and we will never forget.

Delije,
29 countries that recognized Kosova make up for 60% of Worlds GDP.Otherwise the most developed and reach countries and also wait till Japan gives recognition and the GDP will jump to 70%.
Geting back to the article, it was a waste of time just as I said before the session was held.
The most important part of that session about the stance of US,UK and other countries is not printed in this article. I have watched the inteview of US Ambassador to UN and it was breathtaking.

to ZK UK and Delije,

in case you have not heard Kosovo has not been part of Serbia for over 9 years. This all started thanks to all the wars Serbs started (and lost). During which was hundreds of thousands on NON SERBS were killed. Now deal with the consequences as the entire world knows and focus on Serbia, jobs and whatever you need to BUT remember one thing you can not keep 2 million Albanians as your slaves. Serbia for Albanians in Kosovo does not exist and is not part of their daily lives.

miri

pre 16 godina

Delije, whatever suits your passion. You say we don't have enough to hang our hat, we say as long as we are not threatened by Belgrade that is good enough for the moment. It was always a matter of perspective. Jeremic is making a clown of himself.

By the way, part of Jeremic frustation is that all those Harvard boys and constitutional lawyers in Belgrade were outsmarted big time by those "villagers" or whatever names you want to call them in Pristina.

Jeremic it is better you realised that the EU have done nothing but undermine Serbia's progresssion and democracy and look for alternatives that will ensure the continued respect for Sovereignity!

And what would you suggest? A Russian base in Novi Sad perhaps?

Novi Sad isn't appropriate. I would have thought The Presevo Valley would have been ideal.

Serbia's reward for throwing out Milosevic and becoming democratic is the recognition of the independence of Kosovo by the USA and certain EU countries. And Tadic and Jeremic want to join the EU? Get off of your knees! Who needs a Europe that has no respect for international law and justice. Who needs a Europe that destroys one's country and disrespects their territorial integrity. If Tadic and Jeremic want to join the EU, let them move there.

When considering the past 9 years, with hundreds of thousands of ethnically cleansed Serbs, the burning of their housing along with hundreds of churches and with 1000s killed or missing, I'd say there probably are a few Serbs who would wish ill to the Albanians. But can you really blame them?

The answer to this from the US is to award Albanians with independence. Well, fortunately for the Serbs, they are not buying into that rubbish.

We know along with Kostunica that Serbia and Kosovo are one that cannot be divided. If the DS have difficulties understand that, they'll understand soon enough!

Delije

Well Miri, Jerimic is a educated person and he will be there for a long time to come. On the other hand Pristina is run by a former terrorist Thaci and his gurrila army, the KPS. Sorry to burst your bubble, but it was an excuse for Bondsteel. Kosovo is only independent in the eyes of those that recognised it. As I watched Jeremic in UN, I realized how desperate he has become to score political points in upcoming elections. I wonder if he and his supporters concieve that once a country is recognized it becomes an irreversible process. Kosova will not be undone, that is from the moment Russia allowed the allies to bomb YUG. The same Russia that harbors most of Millosevic's collaboraters. The same Russia that didn't agree to have troops in Kosova for any longer term. The same Russia that agreed to 1244 (to which Serbs were so against).
To Jeremic: Wake up and try to score points with EU for you will be left behind just like Turkey.

Well said Mr. Jeremić! Everything you stated was true and it is incredibly sad that certain countries present lack a clear common sense. At this point of time all you can do is repeating things, knowing that the majority of the world is standing by Serbia and all Serbs. Ignore and do not be discouraged by all those US, NATO and EU stooges and lackies with their dangerous sympathy for Albanians. The only thing you have to be afraid of is your job that you will most likely loose after the May elections. Until that time you will certainly have my support in your fight for Serbia and its territorial integrity. I also hope that you will finally be less naive towards the EU now that you have seen what they really wish for Serbia (fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me).

Sorry Jeremic, you have failed miserably to convince anyone about your point. You had 9 years to do that. Now is simply too late to extend your hand to K-Albanians.
The question that comes to the mind of your audience, is "Why on earth would K-Albanians think that Serbia wishes them ill? Any reason Mr. Jeremic, anything you are not saying here?"

Please Jeremic, leave now, perhaps your successor would do a "better" job at that, although it will be waaaaaay to late for that.

By the way, it is the first time that he mentions K-Albanians in his UN speaches, as a part of the puzzle.

- but is the EU bothered about legality anymore when it allowed member states to illegally recognise the ethnic-Albanian entity of partitioned Kosovo & Metohija?

"Serbia is ready to be a constructive partner in achieving regional peace, stability and reconciliation," the minister explained. "

- Serbia was ready before such illegality and so Jeremic and DS are now likely to lose out at the elections since they continue with such false belief in a benevolent and legal minded EU! The Serbian electorate gave a close benefit of doubt to DS in re-electing Tadic but that goodwill was squandered by the EU technocrats who schemed in the midst of the elections secretly the Friday before election day spinning how they could deceive with their INLEX (Lawless) Kosovo mission!
