Jesus I hope the Russians do not put military bases in Serbia. I am not even sure how that would happen since they'd have to go through NATO space to get there, so I wouldn't put any hopes in that. I understand the frustration of Serbs with the West, but Russian imperialism is not a solution, in fact it's even worse. Tito knew what he was doing when he escaped them...

It is very nice that Commander-in-Chief Lieutenant General Zdravko Ponoš is making this business trip and shows appreciation of Romania's common stand on Kosovo (they are a respectable and good neighbor). However, with all due respect, I would spend some time in Moscow talking to Russian generals and military officials about closer military connections with them and purchasing high-tech weapon systems that will defend Serbia and discourage NATO or others to ever attack Serbia again like in 1999. This may also include, if necessary, having a Russian base in Serbia. It would also be very encouraging if there were more clear public indications that the Serbian army will come to the aid of the Kosovo Serbs before it is too late. Nobody blames the Serbian army for withdrawing from Kosovo in 1999 and as far as I am concerned they never lost. I would be the last person to encourage to have our sons and daughters sent to war for no reason. However, one must realize that the EU and NATO still have appetite for more Serbian soil and also do not forget that our neighbor Hungary has been a loyal stooge of the US and sooner or later will ask for a reward (for instance Vojvodina). I still do not understand why the Serbian army was looking for military coorporation with Turkey, a country that also supports Kosovo's illegal UDI. I am sure that Serbs respect the military and they deserve our full support, unlike various politicians who are keeping all kinds of dubious ties with various Serb unfriendly countries and officials.
