Carl,
my mistake. If you click on the link below you will see 3 lines mentioning Gotovina being at the Yugoslav War Crimes Tribunal. No mention of Hague. Carl, please comment on this article because i am interested in what part you found complete and factual.

Wow, I never thought I would hear a serb claim that BBC and CNN aren't western media. How's that for a blue moon!

Regarding croatians calling Gotovina a hero in comments to these news, I very much doubt that will gain them any sympathy. They are making fools out of themselves and make their country look bad.

Anyway, it's reassuring these days to hear that serbs (well, some at least) don't consider swedes to be westerners.

And the Gotovina trial is good news.

Carl,
if you had read my post thoroughly, you would have noticed i specified the "WEST" as in NORTH AMERICA. After all, it was North America that initiated the bombings on Serbia and then you Western Europeans followed suit. Anyways my post has proved itself correct because there are no postings about Gotovina in NORTH AMERICA.
Finally, there is only one true WEST and she is called North America. Carl to expedite you on your geography knowledge, i will tell you that "Sweden is not the WEST".
p.s.
GOTOVINA WILL GET WHAT HE DESERVES SOON ENOUGH!

Ivan I say you would have nothing to be ashamed of unless you did something wrong.

If you didn't you are not to blame for the sins of individuals.

I'm not going to talk about whether I think these people are guilty or not.

This is politically motivated as are the majority of workings of the ICTY. As long as Croatia was doing what the West wanted these war time events were buried. Unfortunately for the West the Croats are not much different from the Serbs. They, like the Serbs, are not stupid and they have their limits on how far they can be pushed. In light of the border disputes with Slovenia and the territorial fishing rights issue it is not at all surprising that these indictments are being pushed through to trial at this time. The West is responding to Croatia with the same tactics it uses against Serbs:
1. Embarrassing trials at the Hague.
2. Postponements and threats of postponements for EU integration.
3. Cutting of development grants (I haven't of read this yet but expect to hear some thing along these lines soon).

Be warned K.Albanians when you get sick and tired of the EU/NATO telling you what to do and start complaining you will start seeing your 'heroes' sent to the Hague and your future developments stymied.

"I am just afraid that certain Croatia friendly countries will put some pressure on the court". Croatia friendly countries had put Gotovina exactly where they want it: in jail. They don't want nationalists around HR if they join EU.

The guy above said Croatians should be ashamed for the treatment they give to serbs in krajina. I wonder, if the guy that posted it is ashamed of things Serbs did, as well.

I am neither 100 % Serb or Croat, but I tell you, I am a bit ashamed of being a bit of both

""Unfortunately, this case will not be posted or followed in Western Media."

Wrong. Here are a couple of examples:

(Carl, Sweden, 11 March 2008 20:28)"

So there are some reports. If you check the first link (BBC) you can see that most Croatian commentators and supporters still have a different view on things. All crimes against Serbs can be justified with the fact that it was a "liberation war" and so all war criminals are regarded as heroes. A country that still glorifies its fascist Ustaše past can be considered quite sick and it was no wonder that Serbs in Krajina felt threatened when Croatia declared independence in 1991. I am just afraid that certain Croatia friendly countries will put some pressure on the court and that these three men will eventually be released due to "lack" of evidence or they can sit out their prison sentense at home (and be released after sitting 25% of their terms due to good behaviour). I am sure that the UN, NATO and the US have a lot to loose if some less well-known information becomes more known to a larger audience. Finally, Kosovo would make a good democratic gesture by sending Ceku to join this trial as well. I am sure that Thaci would be happy to get rid of a competitor.

This is a positive. For the first time Croatian Serb victims will actually be able to see their view be represented at the Hague in a high profile trial.

The prosecutor was particularly damning on Frnajo Tudjman regimes policies. I advise people who didnt get the chance to read the transcript when it comes out.

It is well documented that Gotovina and other high ranked officers from the Croatian army were trained by retired generals from the US army. Why are these Americans not on trial? Or do they wash their hands in innocence (like Pontius Pilatus)?

Milan

I am sure there is more space in The Hague for many Croatians, Bosnians, and Kosovo Albanians. It would have been nice though when Tudjman, Izetbegovic and others could have joined Milosevic. Let's also not forget some top US, NATO and EU officials. It also seems reasonable that Gotovina's superiors should join him. It is still interesting that the EU does not require Croatia to have all Krajina Serbs return home as a prerequisite to join the EU (because the world has been taught by rentless anti-Serb Western propaganda that ethnic cleansing can only be committed by Serbs and not to Serbs). As long as Serbs will be treated differently there should be no reason for Serbia to join the EU (NATO is a no no of course).

B

It is good to see that Croatia is encouraging their citizens to answer the case against them. Serbia should likewise use its influence to encourage any remaining indictees to make a case to the/a court too.

And of course .... following precedent .... civilian Serbs will be allowed to return to Krajina and declare an independent republic.... OK US?

Unfortunately, this case will not be posted or followed in Western Media. In North America the Croations and Albanians have done no wrong.

13 years later ICY is ready to show the world what real ethnic cleansing is.
But knowing european values and NATO`s need for new bodies i can bet that this three won`t get nothing but a slap on the wrist.

So only Serbs are butchers right? Blame everything on the Serbs right? croatia needs to be ashamed of the horrific crimes they have committed on the Serb people!
