Is there no end to the opportunism of this Del Ponte woman? I have felt for a long time that her approach to the ICTY job was always about herself anyway. People in her position should be banned from writing professional memoirs for at least ten years after leaving office. Let her write instead about her childhood - it might explain something. But at least we have the consolation of knowing that it will hardly trouble the best-seller lists.

That was fast! I said earlier that she would probably give out a book after a year to make millions of euros while she can, but this was faster than I thougt. I wonder if the EU taxpayers have paid her salary while she wrote the book?

I wonder if the deal made between Hoolbrooke and Karadzic will get a whole chapter or if its not "political correct" to mention it?

Only in despotic societies, the publishing of books is regulated. Serbia and Russia would like to impose their autocratic style of democracy on the rest of the world, but is not going to happen. The public has the right to know the facts presented by Carla Del Ponte and to judge on her performance (or lack of it) to bring the war criminals to justice.
By coming out against Carla's book, the Serbian regime is pre-emptively trying to come up with a reason for blocking the arrest of war criminals, from whom the present leaders of Serbia draw their inspiration. In fact the arrest of the war criminals in Serbia is only a political decision. If the politicians decide to arrest them, they would be on a plane to the Hague within half an hour.

That explains why Carla was unable to capture the War Crimes Hague Fugutives. Carla was too busy writing her book. I would also recommend that if the book deal is approved for distribution all proceeds will be forwarded to the Charity of Serbia's choice.
